Hunter St. John wants Gillian Cassidy. In his bed...fulfilling his fantasies. For 30 nights, that's the deal. He's going to make her scream with wild, wanton pleasure. Enjoy a little sweet revenge in the process. The perfect way to get her out of his system, right?
Maybe. Gillian is shocked by his proposition -- and aroused. She's never forgotten Hunter and the way he can make her feel. But it's emotional blackmail. It could also be the best sex of her life....

I really liked this one, as long as I didn't think too hard about the fact that the "hero" blackmailed the father of the "heroine" to basically make this girl his (the "hero") sex slave for 30 nights to make up for the fact that the father had stolen the accolades from a scientific breakthrough when the hero was a grad student. But this was okay, because she had secretly carried a torch for him for years.
I honestly liked the book once I got past that and it turned out to be a sweet love story.
What can you expect from Harlequin Blaze? Passable story but not much effort to develop personalities. Quick read. Improbable plot: brilliant scientist (Hunter) attempts to get even with injury done him by his old Professor, whose daughter (Gillian) ia a beautiful musician. She is blackmailed to spend thirty days under his control or Hunter will destroy her father's reputation. Incidentally, attempts are made on Hunter's life by terrorists trying to get or stop his research. Oh, and he was severely disfigured by a letter bomb that took off his hand. Kind of a lot of story to pack into a relatively short read. Sigh.
This is a light and enjoyable read. I found some aspects interesting: despite his physical flaws, the hero (Hunter) is less traumatized by them than by his childhood. I also liked the fact that the heroine is persistent enough to not be affected by Hunter’s “filthy mood”. I’ve read another JoAnn Ross’s book previously and it didn´t impress me. Reading this one now shows me that I won’t give up on this author.
There's definitely a D/s aspect to this story, and it starts off as forced consent, not something you expect to see in a Blaze novel! But well written and worth the read.
