An Enemies to Lovers Romance The father of my star student is a hot-shot screenwriter who thinks he can dictate what production I should put on. He’s also the biggest patron of the drama department, and the principal makes it very clear that I need to cooperate with the opinionated asshat or walk away from my dream job at the exclusive private high school.
It doesn’t help matters that the guy is single, hot, charming, creative, and seems to like me despite my thinly-veiled hostility.
When he invites me to a custom-tailored Perfect Match virtual adventure to convince me that his screenplay is the best choice for my production, I accept, intending to have fun while proving that messing with the classics is a foolish idea.
I don’t expect to be wowed by his werewolf adaptation of Red Riding Hood mesh-up with Romeo and Juliet, and I certainly don’t expect to fall in love with the virtual fantasy’s leading man.
On our way through the forest of time, headed with our basket of reading snacks to the next book in IT Lucas’s Children of the Gods Saga, we venture off trail to pluck up another Perfect Match story. My Werewolf Romeo is a creative mashup of Romeo and Juliet and Little Red Riding Hood, where (or should I say “Were”) the big bad wolf and company are shifters. This imaginative fusion had several elements of fun in the fantasy world, and theatrical acts of humor and cooperation portrayed in the real-life setting. The main characters, Lucy and Clark, were relatable, likeable, and easy to follow. Their happily-ever-after was very satisfying.
Of the 80-ish books released by this author, this might be the only one that makes me scratch my head a few times. Don’t get me wrong. I really liked the story line and the overall premise, but when Lucy and Clark entered their virtual reality session together at Perfect Match, it was virtually confusing at times. The unsimulated scenes before and after their three-hour mind-vacation was a match with perfection, but inside the computer-generated chapters, I had a challenging time swallowing some parts of the secondary plot. It was a tiny bit glitchy. I’ll blame it on Clark’s script writing skills. It WAS his first time working with others. We’ll give him a break on this learning curve, especially when the screenplay was placed into the mostly capable hands of an artificial intelligence.
Overall, I give this story 3.5 stars. It’s very much worth enjoying, but not quite up to par with the rest of Lucas’s exquisite material.
I didn't like this book. It was unique for a romance. It took some imagination even though it is a combination of the movie Total Recall, Romeo and Juliet, and Little Red Riding Hood. There were two things that made me not like it. One, it reads like historical fiction, which I do not care for at all. Two, most of the story is in this fantasy world.
The blurb makes it sound like the fantasy experience is a much smaller part of the book.
I haven't read this author in years. I read her long series when there were only around 8 to 10 books out but stopped when they got bizarre and boring. I can't believe how much further that series went on from there.
Kudos for a good imagination but I can't recommend this book.
Perfect Match: My Werewolf Romeo: An Enemies to Lovers Romance
What a great story! I lost track of the Romeo and Juliet back theme. It was a hole new story with an old world twist! I loved it! I have read every Perfect Match book as it has come out and can't wait to read the next one I just ordered! I wish there really was a Perfect Match service because I would gift myself and my husband for our anniversary this month! Keep up the work!
Lucy and Clark start off great. Once you really start getting into their dynamic, the VR starts and it's like you are reading about two totally different people. And since it's Romeo and Juliet, it's over the top. Then the VR is done, and the characters are insta-love. No more character development. They barely interact and then are married.
This could of been so much better.
First of the series that I read comma but I think it's going to be my last,
My Werewolf Romeo, book 7 of the Perfect Match series by Isabell Lucas @itlucas_author. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed & loved this book by Isabel!
Wow! I can't believe I missed this book when it was released! This was so good, & probably one of my favorite Perfect Match books. I loved the premise of changing aspects of Romeo & Juliet to Little Red Riding Hood.
Loved, loved, this book! The plot is interesting and keeps your attention throughout and thank goodness you get a happily ever after too. The main characters are engaging and relatable especially the female lead, Lucy. And the supporting characters are well written too. I loved tha there is also another Perfect Match experience included within the story. I highly recommend this book. It's well written by a talented author and a great read.
I love the Perfect Match series, but this one was not quite as outstanding as the first couple. I think it was a bit rushed in developing the characters. I have read every single I. T. Lucas book. They are all great. This one just lacked a bit as compared to others. Of course, I will continue to read both series as they are released
I loved this story. The mash up between the two stories is amazing, and the characters are all extremely likeable. Every time I read one of the books in this series, I keep thinking how wonderful it would be to have something like this in real life. I can't wait to read the next instalment of this series.
Amazing storyline, with strength love and determination!!
This amazing storyline had me captivated! I adore the perfect match series and how it blooms the imagination to the wonders in everything. It makes me wish there really was a "Perfect Match" computerized place for all of us to use and enjoy!!! Well done Lucas....keep them coming!!!!
I loved I T Lucas Children of the Gods series and was looking forward to this series. My one star says it all. I had a hard time enjoying the perfect match sequence. I scanned it looking for a “place to land” where I could pick up the story and continue. Didn’t happen. I am sorry to say this almost seems like a different author. Very disappointing.
A great retelling of Little Red Riding hood with a Romeo and Juliet twist. I love everything that Isabelle Lucas writes and this was no exception. The book was a perfect mash-up of two stories without getting cheesy. The action was great and just the right amount of spice!! Good story with HEA. What more could you ask for...
A sweet romance, quiet easy reading for a master story teller. Not a lot of suspense and in all honesty for me it was a little too simple but it was a nice, easy read from an author i never tire of
I’m a lover of anything wolf, and this twist of Romeo and Juliet meets Little red riding hood is delightful and hot. I wanted to live in the pages and join the adventure.
I just love these books. Look forward to next one to come out 😃. I read till finished story does not allow me to put down it is delightful and immerses you I to there fantasy
I love this author I started reading this while waiting for her other book series Children of the gods That series is amazing as well. I completely love this author. she is wonderful and I love her imagination. each book is different and wonderful.
If you are looking for a twist in your romance reading, this tale is for you. The action, in every sense is artfully crafted. If you David the fantasy genre, give this a try. My only complaint was that it ended too soon for me!
This is probably my favorite story in the Perfect Match series. I particularly like the mash-up combinations and how the match stories came together. I thought Lucas did an amazing job of character development for all 4 characters.
My werewolf Romeo was a very entertaining read. Like all of IT Lucas books and I’m faithful reader of all her children of the Gods series. This was not really a enemies to lovers. The banter was not hateful for them to be classified as ‘enemies. I like this storyline more than the Merman Prince
These books are fantastic. The adventures are the best. Very detailed and you almost feel like you’re there with them. Characters are well defined and the story is fantastic.
Definitely different… but simple and sweet. I love “Perfect match” series almost as much as “children of the gods”. I know the story is meant to be short, but I feel something is missing. Looking forward to another “Perfect Match.”

I.T. did not disappoint keeping the attention and action going in this book. She started with an unusual plot and grew it into a perfect love story. Looking forward a the next book in the series.
How do you mix Romeo and Juliet with a horror story that's also a feel good romance? As always excellent characters, on point plots, and a touch of exotica. I.T. Lucas is marvelous!
Imaginative and interesting storyline. Great characters. Enjoyed reading about Clarke a single dad and Lucy. The wolves storyline I find most incredible.
What can I say another excellent read - IT Lucas does not disappoint and I enjoy reading the Perfect Match series and can't wait for the next one - keep them coming Isabel
