Ian William Dougall, known as Gator to his SEAL teammates, is coming home. At least until he decides if he wants to reenlist or not. When he finds himself in the middle of a kidnapping and a plot against the office of the President, he's wondering if he'll ever escape all the action. With the new Voodoo Guardians, it seems business is as busy as ever. Rescuing the infant son of their new chef, Gator finds himself falling for a woman that has a strange past. Keeping Dylan Meeks and her son safe become his ultimate priority and help him to realize that what he's been missing isn't action, it's a good woman.

Dylan Meeks thought she was the luckiest girl in the world. Believing she was raised by a kind, generous 'uncle', who was actually her father's business partner. When he reveals himself for the man he really is, Dylan is faced with the worst horror of her life. Escaping to New Orleans, to someone she thinks is an ally, Dylan finds out that there are few people she can actually trust. Until she meets Ian Dougall. Handsome, strong, loving, and the bravest man she's ever known, she learns that there is no such thing as coincidences. At least not at Belle Fleur.

Thank you for reading my bio and my books! I live and work in Dallas, TX. I'm the mother of two amazing daughters and two fantastic, intelligent grandsons, with one more on the way, and a wonderful son-in-law. I love to cook, travel, and write, but I'm also an avid reader. Being from a military family, my books often center around strong, military men but I also LOVE strong, independent, intelligent women. This 3rd gen series is interesting, I'm ok remembering who the parents are, but having a hard time with the grandparents. It doesn't help that there is a lot of inter-marrying between the families.

The romance between Gator and Dylan was good, about what you expected. I liked that Dylan let everyone know about her issues right away and how Gator didn't let that stop him from pursing and claiming Dylan.

I found myself more interested in how Mama Irene is now this all powerful person, not really hiding things. That seems off and not true to how she has been in the past. I was also more interested in what was going on with Sadie, which was crazy!

Another great story

The author rebranded RP to VG and she has not disappoint this reader. Dylan and Ian story brought back old enemies still trying to take down RP but the new generation are taking them down.
Ian and Dylan like all others fell in love fast with an already made family with Joey Dylan's son. The adventures are awesome and the author always leaves us with what next. Ham and Sadie story already as me wishing for it now.

Gator/IAN

Wow this story tugs at heartstrings just like many if Mary Kennedy’s stories. Dylan knew she would be safe within the special walls of Belle Fleur but wasn’t prepared for losing the love of her life if only temporarily. Gator literally runs into sweet Dylan and finds the magic of the Bayou gets a hold of him too.

I chose this rating because this is actually a pretty great book. I really Enjoy pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of compassion, kindness, inspiration, trust, confidence, believing in yourself, and overcoming something that you believed was true. I really enjoyed Gator and Dylan story. I think the author did a great job with putting these two characters together. I think Dylan did the right thing leaving the house she grew up in, it was so toxic. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.

LOVED IT!

I never lost faith! I didn't know how Ms Kennedy was going to tie in the whole village (we're talking hundreds here folks😃) with retiring the old vanguard and settling in the next generation, but starting the underlings on the path! I am amazed! That just lets me know how talented writer she is!

I love a love story

Ian and Dylan fell hard and fast but neither of them let outside influences dictate their lives. The danger to Dylan was the catalyst that decided Ian she was his HEA. But the Reapers and Guardians backed them to victory.

Another descendant of the original REAPER team makes his mark. He's been a distinguished SEAL for fourteen years and has to make a decision to re-up or come home. He literally runs into his future when home for a wedding. She spills food all over him and he is mesmerized. She has a big problem, and that big problem is one the teams know about. The happy ending they want will be a while but they will make it, tith the help of the original team and the second generation of leadership.
