Sent to a Fantasy World and Now All the Men Want Me: Volume 1

Evan just wants a quiet life where he escapes into books, drinks a ridiculous amount of coffee, and devours every muffin in sight. But then he's transported to another world with magic, sword-wielding knights with big... hearts, and men who find him too adorable to resist.
Complicated? Well, that's the understatement of the century.
And for Evan, the adventure is only beginning.

Book 1 in a low-angst, fantasy "why choose" romance series from author Jaclyn Osborn! Find out what happens when Evan, a snarky bookworm, finds himself in a fantasy world surrounded by hotties, a dark forest that may or may not be filled with monsters, and a magical seaside kingdom.

This book went from 0 to double penetration in like 40% of book...

This is an Isekai anime styled, why-choose, harem romance in book form?
👏SAY LESS FAM.👏

(for any humans who don't know.. Isekai is like... a subgenre where an MC will be like transported into another world essentially?)

Does this book make sense? not really.

Is there a plot? If you take a step back, and squint reeeeeeeeeally hard...... also, not really.

Did it have EVERY SINGLE book trait that I usually hate? yes.

Like what? Insta-love, no real reason for mc's to fall inlove, insta-lust based on NUFFIN, harem stories in general (it's too unbelievable for me so does nothing for me soz), no real thrilling or captivating plot, no reasoning behind things just because ✨magiccccccc✨ and ✨loooooooove✨

But did I like it? YES, AND DID I MENTION ALL DISCOMFORTS OF DP CAN BE MAGIC-KED AWAY???

Perfect.
Perfect!
PERFECT.
PERFECT!

THIS BOOK WAS A DUMPSTER FIRE, AND I AM JUST A GIRL FREEZING HER TITS OFF WITHOUT A COAT, YA KNOW???
JUST LET ME LIVE, BE WARM AND APPRECIATE SOME DP.

Me to me:

i had no idea this released yesterday, so imagine my joy when i was about to enter a reading slump, screaming because i don’t want to read any of the books in my tbr and i casually find on facebook that the book i wanted to read in that moment is actually out there for me to read. magical.

but wait there’s more. this is actually so good. good pacing, funny, the right amount of romance and spice and even though there isn’t THAT much plot, i feel like it’s the perfect introduction to this world.
i loved this so much that i was literally screaming and jumping around like a squirrel on cocaine.

if you don’t like why choose, you’re missing out. this is literally what bella had to do in twilight. this is what miley meant with “the best of both worlds”. well, here there are more than two “worlds”, but that’s beside the point.

evan, you lucky bitch. he’s scoring all the hotties. all of them.
the romance set up is so good. done perfectly. no relationship takes something from the other, they actually compliment the other. and my horny ass can’t WAIT for all the men to come playing.
that’s also something i liked. they aren’t introduced and dumped on evan (even though that might have been fun but this is not an erotic romance so we must stick with the original plan), we actually have time to get to know them and fall in love with their big… personalities.
i won’t deny that someone (this is spoiler free so i won’t name names) needed more screen time because i know a star when i meet one, but that just makes me more excited for volume two.
i have my unhinged theories about what (or actually who) will come next, but i’ll let my thoughts marinate for a while. i’ll probably annoy you some more when i reread this. (because i will. so many times.)

you might be wondering, is there some jealousy between our boyfriends? (yes, our boyfriends, evan and mine)
just a sprinkle. the right amount of spice, if you get what i mean. some friendly competition. *wink wink*

i cannot stress this enough. read this goddamn book. do it.
also, first 5 star book in june!! jaclyn you saved me from tears with this amazing gift.

Did that paint a good picture for y’all? Seriously, though, I loved this book so much. Let me tell you the juice, so you can read it and love it, too.

So Evan’s life sucks. He’s just bored and lonely. He goes to work and goes home. He does enjoy some things like talking to his one friend at his job, making pastries at work, and reading. That’s all. Sad, yeah? Well one night Evan’s kindle broke (god that’s such a nightmare please let that never happen to me), and he decides he’ll just head out to the town fair. While he’s there he meet this magician of sorts, Lupin. Lupin gives him a wishing stone to take home. Obviously the stone is a joke because magic isn’t real. But still, Evan wishes he could go somewhere where he belongs, and find people who loves him for who he is. And then Evan goes to sleep. Imagine Evan’s surprise and confusion when he wakes up in some magic fantasy world. AND imagine his shock when everyone adores him, friendly adoring and romantically adoring. His wish definitely came true.

This is a why choose romance. Meaning Evan has many lovers, and he doesn’t choose between them. They love him, and he loves them. This isn’t cheating because each party knows what is going on and they are all accepting of it. It’s such a fun time I promise. Evan has 2 lovers in this book, and the sex between them was so good. We got some DP scenes, and I was in heaven. There was also some magic used during sex and that made it even more fun. I’ve never read anything like this book. I absolutely adored this. I wished it was 1000 pages long.

The sex was fabulous, but I loved everything else as well. I laughed out loud so much reading this book. Evan was hilarious. I loved reading the parts where he would say some sort of slang, and the characters would be like ???? are you alright?? They also were so appalled at his clothes in the beginning and it cracked me up. He was wearing these briefs that had hot dogs on them, and the characters were like what is on your body Evan. I loved it. I loved the characters as well. They were all so sweet and so funny. Evan made so many friends in this new world, and I was so happy that he was finally happy. Gah I could gush about this book all day long.

I wish I would’ve read this book sooner, but I’m also glad I read it now because now I’m closer to the second release date. I’m having to find things to keep me busy, or I’ll start whining about how I can’t wait for the next book. It’s torture honestly.

So please read this book and try and tell me it’s not the cutest thing you’ve ever read. Love you!

This is such a wonderfully sweet low angst why choose romance. Evan has the greatest luck by being transported to another world where he has not one, not two, but three love interests that will grow to eventually five by the end of the series. Each love interest brings something unique, special, and different to Evan's growing harem of men.

This is such an unusual premise that I was so intrigued by this story. I was quickly swept away by the characters and how lovably aloof and oblivious Evan is. Everyone is completely smitten by his ramblings, bluntness, and genuine kindness and he has many suitors vying for his attention.

I love how there is a small mystery as to who will eventually win Evan's affections, I have my suspicions, but will remain cautious.

Overall I was so delightfully surprised at how much I love this wholesome, fresh, and unique story. Evan is such a sweetheart and deserves everything and everyone who is worthy. Cannot wait for the next one!!

3.5 - I chose this as a silly, smutty, easy read to distract me from my Green Creek series book hangover. It delivers on the cute premise, light and fluffy with a hint of something more serious on the horizon but I found the romance and spice oddly unsatisfying. I liked the start but Evan annoyed me with his wishy-washiness and instalove and I got bored. I want to read book 2 purely to see more of Prince Sawyer and Kuya the cat-guy.

This book was so f***king dumb + ridiculous I am IMMEDIATELY reading this entire series.

me the entire time reading this silly thing:
description

Evan is annoying. He's a classic "not like the other girls" character. He reads BOOKS, he's CLUMSY and QUIRKY.

If he was in a teen movie he would take off his glasses and undo his ponytail during a makeover montage and become the hottest girl in school instantly.

But you know what Evan gets? A trip to goddamn Paris every night.

I knew this book was going to be a spicy good time as soon as I read the Wicked Whims/Sims 4 reference (iykyk).

There is somewhat of a story between all the smut, the men are hot, and Kuya is adorable.

Thankful this author wrote in lube and magic to help this little twink out.

You know how good this was?!?
This was like playing episode/choices But Gay!!! But you get to have all of them even better your boyfriends kiss each other too ugh.

This has everything I wanted in a fantasy romance!
The world building, a prophecy, The Romance, THE LOVE INTERESTS
I was so giddy the whole how Evan got all these men wrapped around his finger hoe Maddox and briar fights for his love but as we approach further into the book they found themselves attracted to one another as well.
Also what I like is how distinctive each character was, usually with so many main characters you couldn't differentiate any of them or it just fell flat, I'm glad the author knows what to do, and each Character has their own personality and I grow to admire them on a different way

Cutesy bookworm Evan lives a boring and unfulfilling life but is transported into a fantasy world and finally finds a home with multiple lovers . He didn’t even need to get hit by a truck. (Im looking at you isekai anime)

Its lighthearted and sometimes cheesy with loads of fan service . Worth the read for the Dp. 🤭

Written like a self-insert fanfiction, a wish come true, and it's simply delightful. I saw every scene in my head as a yaoi harem manga, not gonna lie 😅

You can't call it serious literature and frankly, I've read better-written actual fanfics, but I still enjoyed myself reading it and just going with the flow. It's silly and hilarious, the main character is an absolute Gary Sue (in our world perfectly ordinary, while in this perfect fantasy, he's everyone's favorite within a few hours of meeting him, cute, adorkable, etc). I really liked the first two-thirds, but eventually, I got bored. You really need to read this kind of story when you are seriously in the mood for it, otherwise, it gets boring and repetitive.

The love interests are, of course, completely different from each other, so everyone will find their favorite here 😄 (mine was definitely Maddox). What bothered me a bit was the way too fast change in Maddox and Briar's relationship, which seriously felt forced and unnatural (I promised myself to turn off my brain completely while reading it but I failed, I guess).

Definitely recommend to everyone who at some point in life loved those manga or anime stories full of amazing hot guys, who all lust after our main protagonist, and we just watched the chaos with a satisfied grin.

Second read through on audio: this book is just as amazing the second time around as the first! Evan is the cutest little thing ever and I love his men! And Kuya! The narrator did a fantastic job and I can’t wait to listen to book 2!

Is there a 10⭐️ rating? There should be!! Alright. I have a feeling this is going to be a long one because this book was absolutely incredible! I am obsessed with Evan and all his men! I’ve been looking for an all male reverse harem for a while now and couldn’t really find any (apparently I wasn’t looking hard enough cause I’ve found lots now 😂). This one was recommended to me and as I’m trying to branch out of contemporary a bit I decided to give it a try.

If you are at all on the fence about reading this book. Take the plunge because it is 100% worth it! From the very first sentence I was hooked. In the first chapter alone I had laughed out loud so many times and taken so many screen shots to share with my friends and recommended this book to at least three people when I was only at 3%!

Evan was a fantastic character and is the main character in the RH. This is a single POV story which makes sense and I didn’t have any issues with that (even if I prefer dual POV). Our two main harem men were Maddox and Briar in this story. I loved them both for different reasons and for the different things they brought to the relationship. Maddox was very much the protective, teasing type and Briar was more serious and caring. Evan needed both of them and they way they formed together was beautiful! It was incredibly equal between Maddox and Briar with their main focus on Evan and that’s exactly what I was looking for!

This book is part of a series so we do not get a HEA at the end of this book but we do have a nice HFN. No cliffhangers besides what going to happen in their story next. Essentially you could stop there but there’s so much left to learn and see (apparently more men!!) that it wouldn’t make sense not to continue. I absolutely cannot wait for book 2 and am so excited that it will be out soon! Could not have waited much longer for their story. Will absolutely be a read on release day book!

All the supporting characters were absolutely amazing (except for one certain someone 😡) and absolutely deserve a shout out! Evan couldn’t have found a better place to feel like he belongs!

If you’re looking for something different, a low-angst romance between many men, with lots of humour, sexy times and some fantasy fun then I absolutely recommend you stop what you’re reading and pick up this book!!

Funny, sweet, low angst and wholesome. Evan, who is sad and lonely in our world, gets magically transported to another world where he becomes loved and cherished by new friends and lovers. My dream life. This is a true RH and it had me cackling over Evan and his skills at collecting hot boyfies. His only skills, besides baking and being sassy, because, my goodness is this dude clumsy af. Hot captain Maddox ('the sword') and sweet nerdy Briar ('the flower') are the first additions. I felt for Lake so much. I hope he gets his time with Evan. Also my heart is broken over Kuya and Sawyer. I need them to be happy.
On to the next!

Buddy read with Cedes, who has the best taste. Most of the time 💀

4.5 ⭐️

Despite the long title and lack of a decent cover, I really enjoyed this one. 🙂 The MC (Evan) was a real joy getting to know, with his innocence and quirky personality. My only reservation would be the plot points that were left unexplored. I realize this is the first in a new series, but I felt that things were mentioned throughout the story without really explaining or exploring them. Here’s hoping for an exciting book #2!

You get exactly what you're expecting in this goofy fan service book about, you guessed it - a nerdy introverted reader who magically ends up transported to a fantasy world where all the men want him. It was cute, simple, steamy in a way that was both filthy and sweet, but not really that satisfying. Evan, our protagonist, brings manic pixie dream girl vibes to this fantastical land and every character is immediately obsessed with him. He ends up in a poly relationship with various characters and like everything is awesome. It was so much candy floss. I'm hoping some sort of plot will emerge in future volumes because I can't imagine staying invested if things carry on like this.

I cannot stress enough how important it is that everyone drops everything and reads this book.

Evan and his men are schmoopy, adorable, feel good goodness. This book was basically a warm hug on a cold night. The perfect muffin right out of the oven.

It’s very classic Jaclyn that right at the end she gives a little hook of the overarching story for book two and honestly I loved it.

I’ll be living here for the foreseeable future.

This was a delightfully sweet and cozy fantasy. Osborn was very clearly inspired by isekai/harem manga and I loved it. While it did leave some of the characterization as a bit surface level, that was kind of the point, because this is wish fulfillment at its finest. Who wouldn't want to be in a charming world with magic and love, with tons of hot guys swooning over you, and beautiful friendships? We start with two of Evan's love interests, both who are distinct but equally enamored by him. We meet a third, who is the softest and sweetest character, and I wanted more of him. Evan himself was funny and smart, and his desires and longings were relatable. There are many interesting side characters, my favorite being the precious cat boy, Kuya. I desperately need him and Sawyer to get their happily ever after. There are plenty of plot points and romances still to come and I can't wait.

This is such a hard book to rate. I really loved some parts of this including the premise and the set up. But other aspects just did not work for me. I hated Evan. I mean deeply hated him. He was annoying, immature, insecure, and super cringe. And the self deprecation was way over the top and just too much. I would have probably rated this book a 4 if it was told from multiple pov. All Evan’s pov ruined this for me. Evan is written in a way that authors typically write female MCs and I hate it. So naive and emotionally fragile, and so fucking basic.

The characters are all two dimensional as well.

All the dialogue goes like this:
Evan- no guy likes me. I mean why would they? Im just lean and blond with green eyes and i love to bake and cook. I love to read and fuck. I mean who could possibly love me?

The knight or physician- you are the single best thing that has ever happened to me and i fell in love with you the moment i saw you. I will die for you. Im willing to share you with any number of men because you shit moonbeams.

Evan- cries. But you two did not want me to sleep in the nude after dp’ing me. You’re not attracted to me like all the other men i ever met. Im going to run in the forest sobbing in the middle of the night and meet someone else to love and fuck.

It really is quite silly. But i can deal with that. I just hated Evan’s whiny internal dialogue.

Honestly the best part of the “harem” was reading about the knight and physician’s burgeoning relationship. It was really sweet and I wanted to see more of that.

2.8 stars rounded up to 3. Im going to continue to the next book because I am interested in seeing where it goes. It just sucks that its all from evan’s POV because he sucks

The audio is great.
Loved it

I don't know why this book isn't more popular. Maybe it's because it's a why choose, which isn't to everyone's taste. I came to read MM through why choose books and firmly believe in polyamory, so I loved it.
Evan makes a wish and finds himself in a fantasy land where there is magic and all sorts of creatures, like Kuya, who is half cat, half person.
In this new land he's initially treated as suspicious but soon makes friends and finds love.
I really enjoyed the captain and Briar as his men. Their bickering and then bantering made me smile, especially as it was easy to see the bond growing between them.
The whole book is adorable and I can't wait to meet the rest of his men

Okay, here's the thing. I love anime. And this book is basically an isekai* anime with a harem romance in book form, so... what's not to love? This is super low angst, sweet, fun, HOT and I'm here for it. It's exactly what I need right now and I am in love with it. So yeah, full five stars from me.

[2.75] fun story, reads exactly like a manhwa. it actually reminded me of “stuck in my sisters dating sim” a little bit (read that, it’s so good). docked stars cause some parts are ungodly cringe. also very very predictable. i’m pretty sure i know what the big plot twist is gonna be- not sure if i’ll read the whole series, but the next one i’ll try for sure!

4.75 / 5: me reading chapter 15 with evan & kuya bonding closer together as great friends: okay fine i'll rate this 5 stars

this chapter was the final clinch in the knot for this final rating, but i just loved how all in all this book is so self-indulgent and the beginning of this harem that evan does indeed become involved with was very romantic and sweet. i loved seeing how maddox and briar, in particular, be the first in falling for evan and how endearing it was because yeah it was a bit insta-lovey but evan did share a lot of moments with them individually that made it all count.

i loved how this is only the beginning of this world and how the author continues to knock it out of the park when it comes to introducing an ensemble cast that makes you fall in love with them very easily as they do to evan. as cliche as that might seem, and even with evan finding it hard to believe at first, as the reader it's pretty obvious why they would be drawn to him because he does have this very charming perspective that just makes it easy to be in his presence, as if he could babble to you all day about all his thoughts and share with him some of the sweet treats that he loves to make for everyone and you'll be happy.

i loved how being that this is the beginning, i could already see these sparks of potential in what this series will grow into as again, with our ensemble cast there are already relationships that have yet to be explored even further or deepened beyond first impressions. i'm most looking forward to seeing how kuya, an absolutely adorable demi-human, and sawyer, the prince of the kingdom evan is whisked away to because of a fleeting wish, get to find their own happy ending due to the forbidden romance that lies there. and with kuya being demi-human, it brings to existence of the demi-humans in general and the persecution they face due to a dark history where some of their kind have sided with a much darker force that we don't meet in this volume, but who's sure to make his first appearance soon.

as light as this overall first volume is most certainly, there is some sense of plot that hints to more conflict to come to our main character. with how whimsical this new world is and him getting to find a place in it with people who grow to love him and cherish his presence, there is some political tension such as with prince sawyer's older brother, the crown prince, and also again, the darker force, aka the ruler of the demonic creatures that inhabit the dark wood; the same ones who has rolled out attacks that affected our characters. maddox, being the sworn captain of the Second Order knights, has his fair share of battles to fight in and there's sure to be much more later on, i'm assuming. i really look forward to it, and i'm even more antsy to see more of lake, another demi-human who evan meets by chance in the dark wood late at night. while their last interaction in this volume is left with many things unspoken, lake's character has already sealed himself somewhere in evan's heart and does the same for the reader because i mean, just look at this, look at this book that evan finds bookmarked in lake's collection at his home:

'Why, oh why, is the fox so sad?
Because, you see, the fox is bad.
But if the fox is so bad and has no heart
Then why, oh why, is his breaking apart?'

...

'Why, oh why, is the fox so glad?
Becayse, you see, the fox isn't bad.
All he wanted was a friend to see
That he, the fox, was sweet as could be.'

i'm just......i need the next volume, immediately. but i know it'll have to take some time and so the most i can say for right now is how happy i am that this story came into existence because this was a sort of passion project for the author, something fun to get to write, and i can see how much fun she had with it, because i did, too, in my reading experience. i'm very excited to meet the other men we haven't met yet in evan's harem and just to see the other characters grow as well. i'm not certain in thinking this world evan had been transported into was ever written in a book, but it definitely has some traits that would make you think as much, and even then these characters are all very real and have real dreams they're trying to hold onto in all their fears. i've grown attached to them pretty quickly so i hope nothing too bad happens in the future :')

fingers crossed!!

Started off strong...

Like I was hooked from the first sentence. I mean, who wouldn't be, as this was pretty much a dating sim brought to life? I have been told this is a genre of books that basically is slice of life but set in a fantasy world and man that is absolutely true. I got to about page 150 and it was dragging. I then started to read a bit here and there til the end but it never seemed to catch me again.

And so its taken me forever to finish this.

I am unapologetically a poly reader. If you can write me a way to have as many people (or kitty demons) in one relationship, then I'm happy, so this harem romance should have made me read this in one day, not a couple of weeks. But this was so detailed in a moment to moment way that I was taken out of it.

Anyways, this one was about Evan, a fella who lived a simple life by himself. He loved reading fantasy books. One day at a festival, he went into a magic store and got a stone on which he was supposed to make a heartfelt wish. So he does.

He then wakes up in a new world filled with sexy men. The owner of the shop shows up and tells him that he will eventually fall in love with and have a relationship with 5 fellas. Of course he immediately meets two of them (Maddox the leader of the Knights and Briar the magical healer) and the other fellas in the realm treat him like he is the most special person evah. He meets Lake who obviously will be another love, who is a demon-human, but this relationship will be in the next tale I guess.

But yall, outside of Kuya, the demon-human best friend who was just too cute, the minute by minute details just didn't do it for me.

This could have been a lot shorter and still would have been great.

This author IS NOT GREAT at creating suspense. What's coming next--where is the story going?? Nobody knows, because it's either happy fun times or everything is in crisis, there's no in-between.

I also hate the MMC.. His personality traits are: he loves cooking and baking muffins, is totally spineless, and clumsy to the point of tripping over a pebble in the street. That's it, that's his whole personality!

I cannot find a single trait that separates him from a helpless maiden. He's dense, socially inept and totally useless. You could replace him easily with a fictional woman that's written by a man: She loves feeding men! eats constantly but never gains weight, is scared of thunder storms, and runs into the woods crying whenever she runs out of iced coffee. But somehow she's captivated the hearts of every man she runs into!

I bought the second book out of curiosity, hoping the MMC would improve. Like, get magical powers or stop being a little bitch?!? Unfortunately, none of that happened. And the spice isn't even good. Like, how do you make multiple partners and dp boring to the point that you want to skim through it?

I HAD SUCH HIGH HOPES FOR THIS PREMISE.
Despite my criticism, I do think the author has promise, but maybe should write something closer to home, something she relates to more?? This could have been great, but it missed the mark in a few key ways 😥
