It is very obvious that I am a huge fan of Emily, I only have one book left on her catalogue to read and then I have completely caught up. The Renter is an exclusive to her mailing list, and the only way to get access to this book. I expected a short story, but in fact, it is a complete story.

I really enjoyed this, and didn't know what to expect. A couple decide to rent their basement which is like a mini apartment - but what they don't know is that the person they rent to has a lot of skeletons in her closet - and ones that are best remained buried.

This book is really well-written and very reminiscent of Emily. You will easily get lost in this fast-paced thriller.

I did enjoy this book. I was disappointed with how many spellings mistakes there were. Some words were missing. At the end of the book Allison mentions Vera having an argument with her own sister, yet Allison doesn’t even know Vera has a sister, she thinks they are the same person. That ruin the story for me, how random it was that she said they had the argument even though she never knew the sister existed. If it wasn’t for those errors I would have given this book a higher rating.
