Okay I really enjoyed this book. I literally could not put it down and stayed up till 3 am reading it before having to force myself to put it down so I could sleep. This is a little different than Dylan’s book because there is not a lot of firefighting scenes in it. There’s really only one plus a medic scene, but other than that, nothing. Kinda sad but I also still really enjoyed it.
Jesse is the third brother of the Hogan boys and he is just so fine. Recently promoted to lieutenant, he’s hoping to get on with his dream engine station, 244. And the chief battalion just so happens to be the girl he’s fighting to have’s father, except he doesn’t know that.
Jesse first saw Lana at a volunteer party and was intrigued from the get go and so was she. They even left together and did some other things ;) except they didn’t do the one thing you’re probably thinking of. No, Lana found out Jesse was a firefighter and dipped outta there, leaving Jesse sad and confused, and a lot of hanging on the edge (if you get what I mean).
Lana has a past with firefighter, all of her exes have been firefighters and they’ve all hurt her, so she’s made a promise with her dad to not date anymore firefighters. Except Jesse is just so darn perfect. And she’s literally drawn to him because of their undeniable chemistry. But she’s really fighting, so much so that she starts dating a Doctor. A really nice and rich doctor, all while thinking of Jesse and comparing her new boyfriend to Jesse.
Of course Jesse is heartbroken but he understands that she needs to do this and hopes she comes back to him. (Spoiler, she does).
Their chemistry is so fun and you can literally feel it through the pages. Jesse is so kind and caring, he’s also protective, romantic, understanding, handsome, I could go on. Lana is definitely one badA female. She knows exactly what she wants and she’s not afraid to stick it to Jesse if she needs to. She doesn’t let anyone dictate things to her. She’s pretty levelheaded but sometimes doesn’t listen and jumps to conclusions. She’s the owner of her own brewery, which is really cool.
Ryan’s book is next and I’m excited for his. Based on the little sneak preview, it’s gonna be real good!
