This was such a moving story right from the start and, I can honestly say that I didn't want it to finish. I've had a soft spot for Noah since he was introduced to us in The Bounty so it was really nice that he got to have his own book.

Noah, (kind, compassionate and thougthful, but with a sad past burried away deep inside), sets off on a mission to find "himself" following an incident a home. Noah drifts and eventually finds himself a place to call home in Chancetown, a seemingly pleasant place but really one run by bullies and bigots. After finding respectable employment he comes across Rosalyn a street girl(wary of everyone) who he decides to take under his wing, he's been there so sees her as a person and not just a wretched waif. At first Rosalyn is wary but eventually Noah and his kindness/understanding seep into her heart, but she's scared that when Noah finds out about her past he'll run a mile, not realizing that Noahs past is just as heartbreaking.

The whole relationship is written in such a tender and touching way. Noahs kindness, the little things (and there are lots of them) he does for Rosalyn and Rosalyns reaction to the kindness is heartbreaking . I found myself crying at everything he did for her and her gratitude for something as pleasurable as hot bath that he paid for was very moving. Between them they come to really love and understand (in the true meaning of the word)each other eventually being able to tell the other of the horrific things each had endured just to stay alive, and the acceptance of this was beautifully written. I also liked the way that Roslyn knew instictivly how to help heal Noah of the abuse he'd endured.

The storyline running alonside is two fold, there is the town officals involvment with corruption, theft and murder which is a great page turner as you wonder if Noah is strong enough to resolve the problems thrown at him in his first proper job. And also the confussion Noah feels about his place within the Malloy/Calhoun family.

All in all this was a terrific read. There's romantic and loving between the sheets action made all the more special because of the way Noah and Rosalyn are with other each. A great outcome for Noah with the corpution side of things and the final acceptance of his place within the malloy/calhoun clan. A great read for real romance lovers, I loved it!!

This is probably my favorite from this series, and that's saying a lot! There isn't one of these books I haven't enjoyed.

In theory, this is a much simpler story than the others, but there is a freshness to it that I loved. The hero is a good man, trying to do some good and make the lives of those around him better. The heroine has been dealt a sad lot in life, but has some wonderfully endearing traits. She's survived on the streets on her own, and she says and does what she thinks - no second-guessing or misunderstandings here. When she wants to kiss the hero, she does!

I'm giving this 4.5-ish because I loved the hero and heroine, loved the plot, loved the simplicity and it left me feeling happy.

I guess of all the heroes in this series Tyler is probably my favorite, followed by Ray and then Noah, and of the heroines, Nicky is my fave, followed by Lily and Rosalyn. But I'll be honest, I'd recommend these to anyone. The plots, the characters, the steam are really great for an involving quick read.

Format becoming stale in the series

Noah Calhoun, adopted son of Nicky & Tyler from book 1, is the new sheriff of Chancetown. Roslyn lives in the alleyways of Chancetown, ignored and reviled by the citizens, she lived by eating the slips left out by Elsa the restaurant owner. Noah is determined to help. She is equally determined he won't.
While I do like the Calhoun & Malloy characters from all the books in the series and the stories are all different, I think the repetitive formula for the is becoming stale and the sex scenes are now overplayed. Nothing new is added. The characters never ever seen to get to know each other. Before hours or a day has passed they are jumping into bed. I would just like to see some authenticity of at least respect for each other. After all, in those times a woman was classed as either good, manageable stock or a prostitute. In these stories, the male character does not seem to care that others know what they are doing.

Three years ago Noah Calhoun left the bosom of his loving family for a new start while he learned to cope with his guilt over almost killing his father. With no coins to disturb the lint in his pockets, his father's legendary bounty hunter reputation, a wish he'd had a helpful sheriff growing up and thinking he might find a way to belong here, Noah takes on the job as Chancetown's sheriff.

In the ten years proud, feisty Rosalyn Benedict's lived on Chancetown's streets she learned accepting help from the women in town made her feel bad about herself and even if the handsome new sheriff made her girl parts flutter she wouldn't be put in that position again. She's not fluttering alone. Noah thinks he's found his first lawbreaker and sees a violet eyed waif that tears right into his heart.

After talking with his new friend, the saloon owner, Noah decided Rosalyn Benedict's his personal mission. Noah's warned to stay away from an ongoing rancher's battle. Running into Rosalyn again, Noah puts his plan in motion. Although Rosalyn distrusts men she slowly trusts Noah as he brings welcome changes to her life.

Noah quickly decides things aren't what they seem as the rancher's feud finds its way to his office and Rosalyn becomes a bone of contention. Some citizens believe Noah to be their personal henchman and defending Rosalyn puts Noah in a precarious position. Chancetown's greedier, more corrupt and more prejudiced than Noah thought.

This nicely paced easy to read outing had charismatic leads in Noah and Rosalyn. Readers following the series have seen Noah's transformation to a grown, sexy, handsome and desirable lawman from his rough beginning in The Bounty. Being down on her luck gave Rosalyn a jump off point and let the reader know she was not a hand-wringing damsel in distress. Love's inevitable as the two misfits bump against their attraction while they protect themselves and each other from the rabid townsfolk.

Noah Calhoun left his family after a bad incident that almost killed his father Tyler. Now in a new town, he is now the sheriff. But not everything seems as nice as it did on first glance.
Rosalyn Benedict has lived on the street since she was eight years old and wouldn't accept no ones help. Especially some newbie in town. But Noah Calhoun is persistent to help her.
As Noah helps Rosalyn and they get to know each other, their walls around their heart start to crumble and before they know it they have fallen for each other.
But the problems in their small town is a danger and threatening their very lives. They have to work together to solve it and stay alive so when all is said and done, they can get married.

The Legacy was another great adventure to read, with action, passion, friendship, trust, family and love. It was a great read. I love this series.

Noah Calhoun didn’t know where he belonged until he accepted a job as Sheriff at Chancetown. Befriending a feisty waif and making her his deputy wasn’t in his game plan, especially when he finds out there’s a voluptuous woman beneath the grime. Before he knows what hit him, he’s up to his neck in a battle between cattlemen and sheep ranchers and down to his birthday suit with the street-smart Rosalyn.
Rosalyn Benedict fled to the streets when her mother’s life met an unwarranted end. Angry at the townspeople for the injustice done to her family, she kept to herself until Sheriff Noah Calhoun befriended her. Unused to kindness, she couldn’t help be drawn to the tall, handsome stranger and soon found herself wanting to help him fight the blackguards threatening the town.

This is the last book of this series (#7). I loved it, one of the best. Noah is the adopted son of Nicky and Tyler (from the 1st book in the series The Bounty). He meets up with a ragamuffin homeless woman Rosalyn Benedict who just makes him think of himself before he was adopted.
He takes the job of sheriff and there is some corrupt dealings between the mayor and the cow owners trying to run out the sheep hearders from the town. And they expect Noah to help out. Noah wasn't raised to do things wrong though so this town is getting a honest sheriff. It may be dangerous for Noah.

This was a great ending to this series....
