Part of The Vaccaro Empire Collection it is a push and pull from the very beginning starting out as revenge but turns into something resembling love very quickly so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!! Valenzia is such a sweetheart have lived a normal life for the most part believed what her parents have told her, thinks they are good people, keeps to herself mostly, studies hard and recently cross paths with a sexy guy that she thinks is a good guy but only realizes too late that he isn’t the good guy she thought he way. Luca’s sexy as all get out dangerous man with no family after losing his mom who passed away due to cancer but never really knowing his history since him mom left Italy moving to America to live but when she passed he was going through her things to finding her dairy’s and his past was written out making him see red going for revenge what better way than to go after the oldest daughter of the man he is after but no one ever told him that his hear would get involved or that she would be innocent. Once she realizes the secrets her parents have kept from her confronting her mother, finding herself kidnapped, her father going after Luca trying to kill him so much going on keeping you on the edge of the seat but where is it all leading you, why is Luca after her family, what did they do to his mom, who are they to him, what does he do when he realizes she is innocent of their actions, what is their exclamation to their actions, who is his mom to them, and can their be happiness for them among so many secrets, lies, betrayal?

Oh how I loved these two. I just loved these two. The push and pull throughout this book and both of them fighting the feelings they were beginning to have for one another. I am not sure how much I like Nazario and Luca working together at the end because I became so invested in Luca’s fight for vengeance, but it was a sweet ending of showing their love for Valenzia.

This is a captivating, gripping, dark Mafia Romance. As you would expect it is filled with danger, secrets, lies, enemies and death which is always alive in the Mafia world as well as protective, possessive men and the underlining thing that you do what it takes to protect your family.
This is the second book in The Vaccaro Empire series and wow what a read.
In this story we follow Luca and Valenzia.
Luca was raised away from the Mafia world and the rivalry between the Valenzia's family and his. When he discovers that his father and the rest of his family were wipes out by the Vaccaro's (mainly Valenzia's father) Luca decides he will get his revenge. His plan is to take the eldest daughter of the Vaccaro family, make her his wife and for her to produce an heir to his family. All while her family watches on.
Luca thinks his plan is solid and knows once he gets what he wants he will destroy the Vaccaro family like they destroyed his. What he didn't expect was to actually be attracted to and to fall for his captive.
Valenzia is a strong women but lived a very sheltered life. However when she finds herself in the grasp of Luca she resists him at every turn until he starts threatening her siblings. She knows she must do what's necessary to protect her family even if it means giving up her life. What she doesn't expect is for there to be an explosive chemistry between them. Could it be something more or is it just pure hatred that is driving this chemistry.
What will Luca do when he realises that he is falling for Valenzia? If they succeed will their relationship survive? And what will happen between the families if the join together? Will they still be enemy's who won't stop until the other is dead or will their partnership but exactly what is needed to repair the damage between the families.
What happens when the vengeance you wanted and planned for isn't the most important thing to you but the love of the enemies daughter is?
I loved the characters of Luca and Valenzia. My heart went out to Luca after everything he went through but also to Valenzia as she uncovered secrets in her families past she never knew existed. Luca and Valenzia both have a passionate fire inside them but together they seem to soothe each other. I loved their chemistry and spark. It really jumped off the page.

Perfect title, perfectly intriguing book. This is the first book I have read by the incredible Anise Storm, yes this is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. That said, I will certainly be going back to learn more about Viviana and Nazario. Deadly Vengeance is dual perspectives of Luca and Valenzia.
Luca has grown up in New Orleans, but after the recent passing of his mother all her secrets come unraveled in the form of her journals. He had grown up thinking he had no father, no family outside of his mother as his maternal great grandparents died shortly before and after his birth. Valenzia has grown up sheltered to the extreme. Her parents have shielded her and her siblings from the harsh realities of not only their lives but the world, and those in it. While she had heard rumors of what her parents had done, she never believed them until she accidentally took her mother’s diaries from home. Instantly she learned that her mother was nothing but omissions and lies, her entire life built on them. Suddenly, she needs to know more, after confronting her mother she goes to Palermo in sure of her mother’s enemies. Luca is out for vengeance on the woman that caused his mother to flee all those years ago from her home. Keeping him from knowing his father, his family and learning his truth heritage. His vengeance for Viviana leads him to Valenzia who is the spitting image of her mother, his plan is set, but when she shows up in his town asking about his father, he takes the chance to take her early. The only thing he didn’t expect was the chemistry, the electricity that ignites not only himself but Valenzia.
Who will succeed in their vengeance? Can Valenzia’s father rescue her, or will she be forced to carry out what her mother failed to do? The author’s ability to bring not just the beautiful scenery to life but the characters. You feel their fear in the most visceral moments, and your heart breaks when their hopes crumple. Will the sins of their parents finally have justice or will history repeat? I couldn’t help but devour each page faster than the one before it as a raced through the pages to see what would happen next. Can they truly get a happy ending born of vengeance and pain? I cannot wait to read the next installment and see what will happen next in this Italian Empire.

This is a mafia novel filled with drama, love, sex, vengeance, and betrayal. This is the second installment of The Vaccaro Empire. This is the story of Valenzia, who finds the secrets her parents hid from her and also crosses paths with a mysterious stranger, who in fact is Luca coming to hunt her in order to destroy her parents for the pain they caused his family. Even though this is about a new couple, it helps to read the first book to understand the whole story.
I liked the plot; I liked the darkness in the hero and the naivety of the heroine. The chemistry between Valenzia and Luca was very appealing and steamy.
I mostly like to read dark books because of the ruthlessness of the characters. What I expect and enjoy from the writers is the boldness in bringing out the darkness in characters and not even thinking about the morality of their actions or polishing their actions to satisfy the readers.
Being said that the story started out well. But it started disappointing me a bit due to some of Luca's actions and emotions. Just because he was in love with the heroine, he forgave all the pain Vaccaro caused him and his family without wasting much time, and became buddies all of a sudden! So what was the point of all the plotting?
I felt like towards the end, the plot became something to please the readers. Maybe it would have worked out if Luca takes some time to come to terms with forgiving them for love. But it did not! It felt very sudden and so I was disappointed towards the end that the hero forgot his whole drive for vengeance for the heroine. This opinion is just personal and readers who love a dark mafia story with love, HEA, and vengeance-driven plots will definitely enjoy this.

Valenzia Vaccaro has always known that there was more to her parents’ and her father’s business than they told her but she never knew just how deadly and dangerous her father really is. By accident, one day she grabbed a box of items that belonged to her mother. Going through the box she discovered her mother’s diary. The diary told a tale of vengeance, sex, death and more than she ever wanted to know. When Valenzia confronted her mom with the truth, her mother confirmed it. Valenzia ran.
Luca Catalano didn’t discover who he was until shortly after his 21st birthday when his mother died and he discovered her journals. All the truths that he sought as a child yearning to know about his father were there in those journals, all the secrets that caused his mother to cry at night were laid out in her own handwriting. Luca decided to take his rightful place in his family and their world only to discover that he was the sole remaining Catalano. Luca slowly rebuilt the family name.
Luca also had a plan of vengeance for the man that took his father and uncles, Nazario Vaccaro. Luca will quietly seduce Valenzia Vaccaro, getting her to fall in love with him. If the seduction doesn’t work, he isn’t above kidnapping. When Valenzia runs from her family, she heads straight into the lion’s den and winds up in Luca’s bed. It takes time but Valenzia and Luca slowly start to build on their chance encounter and build a tentative friendship.
This book answers my questions from Deadly Intentions. It was a good addition to the series. It drags a bit at times but all the detail and backstory make sense when you figure it out. Good read!

This installment of the Vaccaro Empire focuses on Valenzia (daughter of Viviana and Nazario Vaccaro from Book 1) and Luca (son of Andrea Catalano from Book 1). This story is heavy on revenge and centers around the kidnapping of Valenzia.
Luca was raised in America and read his mother’s diaries and learned of the role Valenzia played in the destruction of his father’s family. He learned that his father was in love with her, and this part of the reason is mother fled to America. He plots his revenge and vows to take over and avenge his father’s family. Valenzia also stumbles across her mother’s diary and learns her family history and secrets that devastate her as she has been kept from that lifestyle.
This story is full of action and once again this author has built an amazing world of morally gray characters. While I enjoyed Viviana and Nazario’s story more, this is a great addition to the series. It took me a bit to warm up to Luca. While I understood the reasoning behind his need for revenge, I also felt that he when into this scheme without knowing all the facts. I will say that by the end of the story I was a Luca fan.
Valenzia was a contradiction that I also struggled with as she waivered from naïve girl to determined woman. However, I find that I liked that contradiction as it showed growth in her character.
There are some triggers to be aware of: kidnapping, degradation, dubcon, v10lenc3, and injury to the FMC. However, if these triggers are not an issue, this story is well worth your time especially if you love Mafia romances set in Italy.

“If she thought this was torture, she’d be mistaken.”
Deadly Intentions, the first book in the Vaccaro series, is one of my very favorite dark romances. It was very emotional and the first time I read it, I kept thinking back about it for days. The twists, the turns, all the shocking surprises blend with the passion and angst were pure pleasure. So I was absolutely thrilled when I heard Anise was writing a follow up book but had no idea how she would or who it could possibly be about. There’s no way I expected what she wrote. Holy moly! Deadly Vengeance, the absolute perfect title by the way, is a fantastic addition to what now appears will be an ongoing series. It has all the surprises, secrets, emotions and passion I would expect. It’s also dark but not anywhere near as dark as the first book was, partly because, despite Luca’s heartbreaking past, neither he nor Valenzia are as deeply damaged as Nazario and Viviana were. But don’t think for one second that makes this book any less spectacular. Once again it’s difficult to say much without spoiling all the secrets and that would ruin the fun. Just let me assure you, this book is amazing.

Dark, raw, gritty, vengeance, secrets....chemistry off the charts. This book was fantastic.
Deadly Vengeance is book 2 in the Vaccaro Empire series, and I totally recommend reading book 1 first then continuing onto to this story. Luca has a plan, the Vaccaro’s took something away from him and his family he is determined to get pay back, in the form of Vaccaro’s eldest daughter but can he convince her he is the one for her.
Valenzia has had a sheltered life, her father have kept them away from the world, not really understanding the family business but hearing the rumours of her Papa and mother. Until one day her world is turned upside down and in walks Luca, a mysterious dark stranger with a past like her fathers.
Valenzia becomes infatuated by Luca and although they start off as enemies, they stat to have trust and affection but will her family understand or will the riff that has been decades in the making ruin their lives.
This is the second book in this series and it just as full of twists and turns as the first one. Luca’s character starts off as a normal man but understanding his his makes his character more interesting as the story goes on. The character of Valenzia made an equal too Luca and she was just as sassy and strong to push back at the strong alpha character.
I loved the secondary characters who enhanced and made the story more intense as you continue to consume this brilliant story. I can’t wait to read more from this wonderful series in the future as the writing is engaging and keeps you on the edge of your chair.

Deadly Vengeance is the second book in The Vaccaro Empire Series and is a Dark Romance that is packed with, suspense, drama, revenge, secrets, heartache, lies, family drama and so much more. I love a good Mafia Romance that grabs you from the beginning and has you turning the pages till the end. This is a author that I never hesitate picking up anything she writes. I’m a huge fan and each book is better and hotter, intense and raw than the last one. This one definitely checks all those boxes. There may be a few areas that may be a trigger warning for some but if you can push through them, I promise it’ll be worth it. Luca sets out on a quest to get revenge but it turns out to be way more than he ever expected. Valenzia pretty much has lived a sheltered life not knowing or understanding exactly what the family business is but has heard some things others have said. Luca and Valenzia are not friends at first that’s for sure. There’s some pretty tense moments that had me holding my breath. Can these two heal the past? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Wow, this book was definitely awesome, the story was mesmerising and the characters were absolutely captivating. This story was about Valenzia and Luca, Luca's mum left Italy and moved to America, then died of cancer. Luca came across these books his mum's diary's, his history was layed out in front of him, he jumped on a plane and went to the place his mum met his father, he tried to find his family, he ended up moving there for revenge. Valenzia was in college she was going to a party and you must wear a mask, she met a man that made her breathless. She was in her hotel when someone put a cloth over her face, when she woke she was in a dungeon. Now she wants to find out who put her in there. This book was definitely exciting, action, danger, violence, killings, kidnapping, enemies, trauma, anger, revenge, secrets, lies, betrayal, twist and turns, Valenzia hates the person that kidnapped her. I personally liked this one more than the first book a lot more for some reason not sure why exactly it’s for sure a book you’re get hooked on! This one tells the story of the other woman that I believe we learned a little bit about in first book. From innocent to finding out the truth among so much betrayal the man guy is ready to anything to get he believes to be his. The characters are feisty, strong willed stubborn and both about get a rude awakening to what could change their lives forever. There is much action packed, hatred plus so much more under the surface that it feels like you’re watching a epic movie in 3D not just reading this amazing book! A page turner unpredictable things happen especially between the characters the sparks are flying everywhere plus the steamy scenes and enemies to lovers theme are all things I love in books I read! This one doesn’t disappoint In any way I was at the edge of my seat wanting to know how things would go down in the end and I was really surprised but very happy! Get yourself ready this epic adventure it’s a keeper for me :).

Mafia romances are a guilty pleasure for me. I don’t think I’ve found one I didn’t like. I do believe Deadly Vengeance is my favorite I’ve read to date. It’s got a lot more substance than those I’ve read in the past. The author does a wonderful job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.
What will happen next?
Will she ever defrost?
Will he only ever use her?
Those questions and so many more pop in one’s mind while reading. And though it takes time, the author answers every single one.
Luca, deprived of a life he could’ve had. However embraced it, once he took it.
Valenzia, sheltered away from the world she was living.
These two have more in common than they truly realize. Unfortunately despite her beauty for Luca she’s a means to an end. The piece that brings his family back to the forefront in his native land.
But is she really?
The trials and tribulations these two both go through are wonderfully written and entertaining. The author wrote a novel that I know I’ll read again.

This is the second book in the Vaccaro Empire Collection series. A dark Mafia romance book focusing on Valenzia and Luca.
The story has its fair share of danger, secrecy and violence as is expected with Mafia stories. I enjoyed the way this was written; the descriptive language made the characters and scenery come to life.
Luca’s plan for revenge backfires when his emotions get in the way. I truly felt for Luca and what he went through (and I have a weakness for Mafia characters) and couldn’t help myself rooting for him to succeed in romancing Valenzia.
I also enjoyed the character of Valenzia and felt for her as she discovered the truth about her family. I felt her strength as she encountered difficult situations, adapting to the circumstances to protect her loved ones.
The chemistry between the pair was clear and I couldn’t put the book down in my need to see how they came together, witnessing their story play out, I think they brought the best out in each other.
This was another great novel by the author and I am desperately waiting to sink my teeth into the next book!

This is the second book in the series and I found it to be engaging and a 4 out of 5 on the spice scale. It has suspense, betrayal, love, forgiveness, death, secrets, and heat! Valencia is the daughter of an Italian mobster who reads her mothers diary and learns about their past lives and people killed. She sets out to find more information about the family her father killed and gets kidnapped by Luca. He is the son of one of those killed and is out for vengeance. The characters were good but I did have an issue with Luca. My issue that I found it hard to believe that he was raised knowing nothing about his father and the mafia but became this vengeful mobster after his mother passed and he learned the truth about the father he never knew. I liked that he forgave Valenzia’s father but it seemed to just happened with nothing leading up to it.
Overall, it was a great book that I really enjoyed reading and would recommend to readers 18+

This is a wonderful companion story to the previous one in this series. We get to see the next generation in Valenzia and Luca who are children of mothers who both loved the same man, Andrea Catalano. Difference being one ran away and the other stayed but to what end? Gisele’s son Luca has a vendetta after he discovers the truth about his father. His plan is to abduct Valenzia and force her to marry him. Love was not supposed to play a part at all. Hmmm…best laid plans and all that! If you read the previous book, you will definitely want to read this one. Will retribution make everything right for Luca? Little bit age-gap in that Valenzia is only turning 22yo and Luca is already 30yo. This was a page-turner from the beginning. The diary entries were so telling and poignant. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.

This is book two in the series and it is amazing. This book makes it hard for you to stop reading and go do other things. You will find yourself sitting in your chair and not wanting to do anything but get lost in the world of mafia. You will keep turning the pages because you have to know what it next. This book has deep character connections and growth. This also has all the dark mysterious grit that you get with mafia romance. This author is amazing at developing string emotional connections between the reader and the characters; with that you get very deep character growth. This is a fast paced book because the plot keeps your interest and turning the pages. The twists and turns that the book takes will have you on the edge of your seat and scratching your head because you just don't predict some of them. I highly recommend reading this book if you like mafia romance but more importantly like character development with an amazing plot.

This is book two in The Vaccaro Empire Series and it is Valenzia and Luca’s story. Valenzia keeps to herself and studies hard that is until she meets Luca but what she doesn’t realise until it is too is that Luca has targeted her for a reason and that is revenge for his family that Valenzia’s father destroyed and took them from him and now he is back to claim what is his while destroying them all which is the enemy. There are ups and downs along with twists and turns that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next and also what the outcome and future will be for them all. The chemistry between Valenzia and Luca was hot, strong and intense that you could feel it sizzling of the pages and this book pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Valenzia and Luca have two very different personalities, but that in no way affects the attraction they share or the palpable chemistry between them. He may have only been looking for revenge when he engineered their meeting but his feelings soon became conflicted. His family and hers are mortal enemies why and the details he's learned from his mother’s diaries. His family suffered such a great loss but will he allow his thirst for vengeance to spoil his chance of a future with Valenzia? I loved the push as they fought their growing feelings for one another.
it's a well-written story with well-crafted characters that is full of growing love, palpable chemistry, action, betrayal, secrets, revenge as well as some unexpected twists, it's a story I definitely recommend and one which held my attention from beginning to end.

Luca finds out information about his family and decides to take revenge by charming and then taking Valenzia captive.
There are a lot of moving parts in this story. They each find family history that shines a light on the fued between their two families as they are in close proximity to one another. Because of the continued quest for answers (on both sides), it helped make the book feel fresh and different from its' counterparts. And the spice?? It's definitely there 🔥🔥🔥 and I loved it, but I wish there was an extra scene or two.

He is simply seeking revenge against the people he holds responsible for ruining his family. When he meets her sparks fly. This is definitely a story about the lines between love and hate. It is filled with suspense and twists and turns. It kept me wanting to read, I wanted to see how their story would end. I truly enjoy reading stories about families that are at odds and this is one of them. Where there is generations of hatred. I definitely recommend this page turner!

You absolutely have to read book one before diving into this book. I feel like you will get a better understanding and how everything started. Although in this book it does explain about it, but it’s just briefly. Book one goes more in depth. This story is about Valenzia, who is the daughter of Viviana and Nazario. Valenzia is a Mafia Princess, but she’s been naive about what her parent do for a living. When she finds her mothers diary she finds out the truth. She also ends up acting reckless that she ends up in the lions lair. She ends up getting captive by no other then her father’s nemesis. Luca comes back to avenge his father’s killer and he won’t stop at anything until the Vaccaro’s pay for eliminating all the Catalano’s bloodline. Except they missed him and he wants blood. I absolutely recommend it if you love dark mafia romance.

This is book two of The Vaccaro Empire Collection and it could be read on its own but can be appreciated more if you read book one. The next generation of Vaccaro's and Catalano's comes together in a clash. Two individuals, Luca and Valenca, have grown up with no exposure to their families pasts and present occupations, uncover it all and the decades long grudge that comes along as well. Vengence is a strong driver but what if the tables turn and something else is exposed? Can love truly conquer all? I really enjoyed reading this story, the flashbacks of the first book, getting a few more pieces to this masterful puzzle. It all comes together wonderfully. Enjoy!.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. An author that has great writing style and their attention to details make you feel part of the story. This is the second book in this series and is just as great to read as the first one. I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. They pull you into their world and keep you engaged to the end. This is a story about crossing lines and bringing peace to families instead of betrayal. This is a well written story that is hard to put down and fast paced. This is one you don’t want to miss for sure. There is great growth of the characters and plot which made the story easy to read. I enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it.
