Britain's answer to Captain America. It's a simple story. Union Jack along with Sabra, the Arabian Knight and Contessa Allegra Valentina de la Fontaine of SHIELD have to stop a bunch of D-list Marvel villains from murdering everyone in London. Simple but action packed and fun.

I was going to give it 3 stars then halfway through I thought that it was going to be a solid 4 but ended up sneaking a 5. Why? Maybe because it is a bit British in flavour. Partly because of the excellent storytelling both written and artistically. Definitely because it is one of the few mainstream outputs to call out the haves for down treading on the have nots.

Plus it is a great story full of interesting characters and packing a punch of action. Very enjoyable.

Good fun with a huge helping of seriousness.

This is the second mini series featured in the Mightiest Heroes collection and a lot different as the supernatural element is out and it is full on terrorism. This is fantastic stuff, Joey has to both work with the British government and a team of international people who are heated because of their countries to thwart multiple terrorist attacks around London.

I barely knew who Union Jack was before reading this, but it was a great intro to the character. The story and art are really fun, and it made me want to know a little more about the character.

A very well written post 9/11 terrorist story which mixes the grim grit of the 2000's with the most colourful world of comics better than most Marvel books of this era.

Joey is very well written and makes for an easy to get behind protagonist. the shooting gallery of C and D list villains acting as part of a large scale terror plot was a lot of fun to see and the ending shot the whole book up to five stars.

Nice little side story to the character after his appearance in Brubaker's Captain America (just before civil war). Definitely a character I would be happy to see more of.
