I'm a nice guy these days. Really I am. Because of the vampire Louie dal Pra and his wife, Sonja.” Brecken de BoerBrecken can be nice or he can be cruel. It all depends on which part of him is in control, his human aspect or his vampire. And the fight for control is constant. Embittered and alone, Brecken loses himself and struggles to find himself again, not even sure who or what he is.Women, naturally are a major problem. How to treat them, how to understand them? How to find one to love? A woman who would accept him, accept his rage and confusion. And willingly accept his bite. Sonja chooses him to be her husband's friend. But to conquer his dark side he needs Louie - and Brecken is half in love with Louie's wife. Yet he cannot bear to live without Louie, because without him, Brecken is forever alone, and alone is the worst disaster of all.
Dixie Pieslak loves to learn, and reading is her preferred path to new knowledge. She reads novels, of course, but also a little bit of everything else. Her interests are varied and include philosophy, psychology, history, gardening, animals, baking, science and all forms of art. (But not math, thank you very much.)
Since childhood she has loved sci fi, urban fantasy and alternate history. Given that she is fascinated by the "what if...?", it is not hard to understand why her writing falls under the the broad umbrella of speculative fiction, paranormal, time travel, problematic relationships and psychological twist.
She is a committed Christian who loves to be around people. Dixie practices martial arts. She has travelled a great deal and studied several foreign languages. She lived abroad for a time, and enjoys using those experiences in her stories. She is a mother and often coauthors with her brother, Rick Lance. They both write every day, and their hope is to inform as well as entertain.
Dixie's dream is to never stop writing. She shares a web site with her brother at authorsintandem.com
