╰┈➤KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

ღ 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 ღ Is a roommates-to-lovers standalone romance book by B. Celeste.

From the stunning cover, to the blurb, to the author, I've been highly anticipating this, now that it's dropped on my kindle I'm even more excited to start it..

Readers begged B. Celeste to write a more smuttier book than she’s ever written before, and she delivered it on a silver platter. This wasn’t over the top smut, it was perfectly right, the right amount where these roommates inhibitions were set free. I loved their dynamics, their love for her daughter, how they cared about each other shone through the pages.

Blake Karr, a twenty-four-year-old single mother of one, has a secret that few people know about—only her, and her three male roommates.

Blake is a twenty-four year old single mother of one deemed off limits when she'd signed her name on the lease of a four bedroom apartment living with three hot roommates, Finn, and cousins Brodie and Dante.

Every book this author has under her belt just gets better and better.

I wanted more, craved more, needed more, I didn’t want it to end, I wanted to stay wrapped up in the feels on this cold winter's night, to say this was shamelessly inhaled was an understatement.

Secrets never stay buried for long. And bombs doused in secrets detonated in this book.

This book definitely had potential. I enjoyed it but as the author pointed out, this is not something she normally writes. You can definitely notice the holes and some missing links in the story. There was a lot going on in the plot that wasn't really developed because of how short the story was. Maybe there were too many POV's or honestly the whole Rafael thing wasn't even needed. The storyline with just the roommates would've been enough and we could've gotten more of a backstory to each of them. This read more like a novella, wish we would've gotten to know these characters better. The smut was still hot

My favourite thing about B.’s writing is that it’s so real. The characters are so endearingly human, and you’ll get frustrated by their actions but you can understand their reasoning. It’s so easy to empathise with them, you get emotionally attached and you just want to hug them. (And send them to therapy.)

I loved Blake’s s3x-positivity and the general tendency to use s3x to deal with things you don’t want to deal with. Maia girl is so endearing, and although all the boys had me frustrated with them at least once, they’re amazing characters i would love to be friends with. The ending had my heart feeling so full 🫶🏼

B is one of my all time favorite one click authors, so when she said she was diving into a smuttier version of herself I couldn't WAIT. So you know as soon as this landed on my kindle, I started reading that moment! And though it was definitely spicy and one handed reading material for sure, there were still all the emotions there that you know you're going to get from this amazing author.

There's a lot of relationships and secrets going on with the roommates/friends, and single mom Blake is right at the center of it. Finn, Dante and Brodie (as well as someone from Dantes past) are all so convoluted together, and there's a lot of revelations that come to light, as well as a lot of emotional upheaval. I absolutely adored Blake and Brodie, and I'm so happy that things turned out the way they did for everyone. I really didn't like a certain character, but overall it was an amazing ride!

I do wish it was a little bit longer and that we got to see the main couple in the future happy and really building their life together. We did get a hint of it, but I just wish she got a little more. This is definitely worth the read though, and with all the tropes, there's something for everyone!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

Holy hotness, I have loved every book I’ve written of B. Celeste’s but this one was definitely one for the books (literally) five stars all around, especially in terms of spice. Like not only did our gal give us a spicy romance but she gave us absolutely epic $mexy scenes. There was such large growth amongst each of the characters in this book. Between Finn & Dante, Blake herself and Blake with all the guys. All their “secrets” came out but they loved each other threw it all, because what started as a friendship and roommates, became a family. The spice was OFF the charts, to the point I had to fan myself during Blake & Brodies “first” time together it was beyond hot. The fact Blake did not expect him to be dominant because of how playful and charming he is was everything. For how uncomfortable $3x scenes make B, she did an amazing job writing them. I’d continue with the review, but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. If you’re on the fence about reading this just do it, trust me. You will not regret it. 5 ⭐️ 5 🌶️.

This was my first B.C. book, and seeing the dedication about this one being for those who told her to go smuttier, had me starting this read on a high!

As this was for those was asked for smut, I can agree it delivered in that department; I can’t compare it to her other work because they’re still on my TBR, but take my word for it when I say it brought some spices, and not just that but also an intriguing story as well as 3 smexy roommates, especially Brodie, his charm made me swoon, his care made me swoon, his words made me swoon, you get my point.

A late edition to the story was Raf, and I had mixed feelings about him, I liked him at first, then still for a bit longer but let me warn you this guy will make you feel conflicted, so enjoy the good moments with him, cause they were good 😉

Overall, I came for the spice & the roommates trope and it delivered with those so I’m happy, I’ll admit, I wanted more, the way it ended left me curious and wanting just a few more chapters to round it all up, but I wouldn’t say I was left disappointed.

B. Celeste has delivered an amazing spicy book with a great story and a whole bunch of different emotions. Blake and Maia definitely made their way into my heart! Brodie, Finn and Dante all love Blake in their own way and help her with Maia when she needs it which made me love them. It’s definitely a cant miss read!

I was provided an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. I am no stranger to B. Celeste’s books and let me tell you this is definitely the smutty side of B! The book had such an interesting dynamic. It was roommates to lovers, friends to lovers and most importantly we saw the characters deal with trauma. The characters also went on a journey to heal past hurts. This book was a solid 4 star read and I really liked the smutty side of B. Would definitely recommend!

I don’t really know how to feel about this book. Half of the characters pissed me off but it was entertaining so there’s that.

*SPOILERS*

Isn’t Brodie like a cousin to both Dante and Finn?? And Dante and Finn are dating but like they have the same cousin? I mean they’re not blood related but I find that a lil weird

This is my first book by this author and honestly, I didn't know what she writes exactly. Unfortunately, this wasn't really a RH. And really not that smutty. I kept waiting for the twist, or big event, something but nothing came. It's not a bad book, just not that exciting. Too bad, because I liked the premise.

I love when an author pushes the boundaries a bit and with Girl Going Nowhere, B. Celeste clearly got her 'smut' on in a really great way! I went in blind and I have to say the storyline went in a few different directions that kept me on my toes from start to finish. I really liked Blake Carr and all that she has done to try and turn her life around for herself and her adorable daughter Maia. The fact that she owns her missteps was a huge plus for me even as she continues to make a few more before she is truly settled.

There are numerous POVs that I loved since in addition to Blake, her 3 roommates clearly had their own stories to tell even when they threatened to pull the rug out from under their unconventional 'bliss'. But those tangents were beyond steamy and added a naughty side to this book I didn't expect. There are numerous secrets going on in this apartment that Blake shares with Dante, Finn and Brodie and as they trickle out one by one, I honestly wasn't sure their friendships would survive all that is revealed.

With the long-held confidential matter of Maia's parentage coming to the surface after 3 years coinciding with Dante's half-brother's sudden appearance, let's just say that Blake has more than her hands full both figuratively and literally. I wasn't sure what to think of Raf since his role in turning Blake's life a bit sideways was much more than anyone bargained for. But, he did seem to redeem himself a bit and honestly, I wouldn't mind hearing more from him in a future book. Despite he and Dante sharing a despicable father, I'd like to think he does in fact take care of his own even as he is trying his hardest to make his own future as a Philadelphia Phillie. He and Dante have a long way to go wrt forging a better relationship but I'm hopeful they can truly make amends going forward.

Blake Carr despite all her impulsive decisions is truly a good person. I'm not quite sure why she has always felt the need to soothe any ache, disappointment or feeling of despair with sex, but those times when she does are wicked hot and added a really great element to this story. She owns up to her failings but is a wonderful mother and an even better friend. I was truly thrilled with how her life has progressed and the surprise of who she ultimately chooses to be by her side with Maia in tow.

Blake has 3 incredible confidantes in Finn, Dante and Brodie with bestie Emily always ready to assist her friend and I loved every minute with this somewhat dysfunctional yet very endearing crew. Let's hope this is not the last we hear from this group of fabulous characters since each one is unique and loving and is finally getting the happy they all deserve.

Well worth your time, I happily give Girl Going Nowhere 4 big stars!

Girl Going Nowhere Review

Couple: Blake Carr with Finn Wilder, Brodie Adams & Dante Harris

Author: B. Celeste

Tropes: single mother, roommate romance, best friend romance, forced proximity, why choose (ish)

Review:  Ahhh!! This is a multi-POV romance that has themes of why choose but ends up not being RH. I enjoyed this book and expected no less since I love all B. Celeste’s books.

This book was different than ones I have read from her in the past since Blake is a single mother and wild child. I loved how she was unabashedly herself when it came to who she was attracted too and I loved all three of her roommates. The way she created the setting and conflict in this book was done phenomenally and Blake is an FMC who stayed in my head for days.

The main arc in this book is Blake’s daughter’s father. We slowly learn more and more throughout the book about him and what happened and I. WAS. ASTOUNDED. I found myself on edge since I knew something was going to happen about the contract she signed to never mention it and I was so happy when it did happen she had her three roommates to gather around her.

Spice is present from page 1 in this book and it goes against the “roommate” trope from the get-go. Finn, Brodie and Dante are all broody and strong MMCs. I appreciated the twists and surprises in the plots about Finn and Dante and was happy how she ended up splitting the couples. I also loved how this was not an RH but had themes like one, I feel like it made it more realistic of a story and made the feelings more raw.

My favorite part of the story was how each of the males loved Blake’s daughter. Brodie was my favorite and there was just something about his chapters that I gravitated towards in the book. I also enjoyed Dante’s chapters since he was the one that was troubled the most. The ending of this book tied everything up nicely and I was sooo ecstatic that Blake confronted Dante’s mother at the end and made it known she would always be his friend.

Rating: 9/10, Blake…she has a sift spot in my heart

A girl with a history that her parents are ashamed of and after what she endured and what she went through, she learned her lesson at a young age and had to learn pretty quickly how to grow the hell up. She made mistakes that came with consequences and then she met a trio of guys that were nothing but great to her and they all became roommates and they all got along great. All three guys had made a pact that she was off limits and they were not to make a pass at her. They were all to stay strictly as friends and that was that.

Brodie was the flirt, Finn was the nerdy tech but always there for her and Dante was the broody one who didn't talk much.

She has a one night stand with a man she meets on the plane when she goes to see her best friend and never thought she would see him again and it turns out that she ends up seeing him at their apartment because he ends up being Dante's half brother and that was a shocker to her. She ends up having a hot and heavy night with Dante and his brother that night and Brodie caught what happened but didn't mention it. He let him keep his secret. But Dante has a bigger secret that he can't seem to wrap his head around whether he should or should't just open up about it. But with his brother in town now, it seems like he's causing more headaches than anything.

When Blake comes to a stand still and might have a problem in her hands, Dante comes to her rescue. He might be a broody guy, but he can also be nice and caring when he knows when to be.

Secrets get revealed while others get concealed and it seems like everything will work out after all for everyone.

This book had a great ending and just the way I was hoping for. Blake certainly deserved a second chance at happiness and she is for sure getting it with a great guy!

💜ARC Review💜

"I'm not going to kiss you right now. Not because I don't want to, but because when I do, it'll be because you want it. Not because you need it."- Girl Going Nowhere, By B. Celeste

Blake. Finn. Brodie. Dante. 4 roommates. 4 totally different lives, but so much love for each other.

B was kind enough to send me this arc, and I was seriously so stoked. I think she is such a phenomenal writer, so I was super honored to receive this. And roommates to lovers? Yes. Please. Sign me up for that!

I absolutely gobbled this book up. Super refreshing read. Multiple POVs. And I loved every roommate for different reasons. It was like New Girl but super duper steamy, and I loved it. They were all there for each other and supported each other when push came to shove, and I just dug that. People who accept you for you are hard to find.

I don't want to give anything away but....everyone read this. It's funny, it's beautiful and down to earth and grounded. Smutty...yes...but such a good story on top of that. There are bad people in this world, and there are good people. There is family and then also friends who become family. This story is that. B... I know you don't like writing spicy scenes, but you are so good at it!! Everyone get ready to read this book! B. Celeste said this was going to be a spicier book, and it definitely was, but at the same time, it definitely still packed that heavy emotional punch I always get from one of her books.

Blake is a single mom to the most adorable little girl, Maia,  living with her 3 roommates, Brodie, Finn, and Dante, and boy, do all of them have secrets.

Finn and Dante have been hooking up in secret, but Finn wants more, Dante has a past haunting him, Brodie wants someone he can't have and Blake? Well, she's just trying to survive.

From the start, I loved Brodie and how he seemed to really want the best for Blake and was happy to play the long game while she healed herself, and I adored how all the roommates adored Maia.

I definitely got odd vibes from Rafe when he was introduced, but man, what he did? Fuck him honestly.

Brodie was such a sweetheart and the way he did so many little things for her without her even knowing had me swooning so hard!! I just wish we'd had more time to see him and Blake together.

Overall this books was such a good blend of the extra spice and the emotional side and every character got their time to shine to the point I was invested in all of them getting their HEA ( well not Rafe bc honestly I'm still team fuck him)

Did I devour this book in 4 hours?? Absolutely, I did! It was such an easy read and kept me on my toes the entire time!🤩
When B. Celeste said this would be her spiciest book yet, I knew I was in for a treat! My taste buds would have been burnt off because it was so HOOOOTTTT! It was so spicy that I was left anticipating who would end up with who in the end!!! I didn't know who to root for! Also, please feel free to keep up the spicy writing.😏🥵🌶
As in every B. Celeste book, there is always a level of angst. While this book didn't have as much of it, I still loved the ansty feeling I got with certain characters!🥺😍
Thank you, B, for the opportunity of an ARC! I'm looking forward to seeing some more spicy scenes in your upcoming books. You gave your readers a taste in your other books, but gave us a full meal in this one. We won't want to go back to just a taste!😏🤣😘

Full disclosure, the only thing I knew going into this ARC was that B. Celeste’s grandmother told her she needed to write more horizontal tango time in her books. And that was enough to convince this girl.

LETS GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO B’S GRANDMA 👏 because HOT DAMN. This book was everything and more. I’m still thinking about it days later.

Secrets, a powder keg of attraction, and a “hands off” ban on the hot roommate that goes spectacularly out the window 🥵
Somehow, all this substance, emotion, and drama got wrapped up in a medium-low angst package that carefully unraveled the mysteries and secrets throughout.

I would’ve liked to have gotten to know the guy in the main final couple more. That said, doing so would definitely have been a trade-off that sacrificed the aforementioned unraveling, and I think B made the right call for the story. Who knows- maybe we’ll get that in a bonus epilogue or some flashback chapters? A girl can dream 🤷‍♀️

I really enjoy B. Celeste's books, so it is hard for me to review this one because I don't exactly know what I thought of it. I think Blake is a fantastic mom to Maia and I love that her 3 roommates love and help take care of Maia. I'm definitely not shaming her for her situation or how she gets her needs with or who by. This book definitely holds more heat and it was mentioned before the story, so bring it on. Blake wants to support her daughter and occasionally needs mama's time out. I don't like how she was treated but I liked that she stood her ground for her daughter and her friends. I do get not having feelings for someone or having some for someone that doesn't return them, but that kind of baffled me too. There's drama in here...that Blake definitely didn't ask for, but I think it helped find her worth and to look at someone who finds her worthy. In turn, it helps those she loves come to their own truths as well. It wasn't that I didn't like the story. I just don't know if it was missing something or it just didn't resonate with me. Either way, read it and form your own opinions.

This was a fantastic read. B did not miss on this steamy story. I absolutely loved all the spicy moments in this book, but there was an entire fantastic plot to go with it. I love that our main girl Blake isn't shy about what she desires, even if it isn't the norm. Sure, she might regret her decisions in the light of day, but she isn't afraid of her sexuality which was so refreshing. Each of her male roommates brought something different to the table and reading about how they adore Blake's daughter Maia was adorable. I love Finn and his nerdy side, Dante, with his broodieness and Bodie with his flirty personality. This has so many troupes that worked seamlessly, and I hope B writes some more about the crew.

I admittedly was a little nervous when B. Celeste said that this was her smuttiest book yet. I typically turn to this author when I want more emotional stories, but she has proved that she can nail both!

I really appreciated that we got those great spicy scenes that she promised (MF/MFM/MM), but this book also had a great plot, character development and emotional journeys that these characters went on too. I loved single mom Blake, her daughter and roommates Dante, Finn and Brodie!

If you enjoy B. Celeste’s works like I do or even if this is your first by her, I really think you’re going to love this one! I flew through this in one sitting and immediately ordered the paperback once I was done reading, 4.5 ⭐️’s!

I received an arc of this book, and these are my honest opinions!

HAWWT indeed! 🌶️

I’ve been reading B.Celeste’s books for a while and loved them BUT to her grandma all of you who asked for a smuttier one… THANK YOU!

Three guys (Dante,Finn & Brodie),one girl (Blake) and a whole lot of secrets are the plot of this story whose characters made their way into my heart.

I loved how said characters grew according to the hand there were dealt and how supportive they were of each other through it all.

Not only this book delivered great spicy scenes (MF/MM/MFM) but also some emotional ones that made my heart all mushy.

This book was definitely different from her traditional ones but a read I highly recommend!

b celeste is one of my favorites, definitely an auto buy author, so when she said she was writing a spicy MM, MF, MMF, single mom romance, i was like SIGN ME UPP.

i always love how b celeste writes emotions into her stories, there's always some kind of journey the MC goes through, and this book had that AND immaculate spice. she really did not lie when she said she was gonna give us smutt, and she GAVE it. there were so many of my favorite tropes in this book as well...

💜 MM, MF, MMF
💜 roommates with benefits
💜 single parent

there's a trope for everyone in here. & i was livingg for the why choose and found family vibes all in one spicy amazing package.

I am going to a book convention and I am trying to read a book from each author. I have been so bad about not reading the synopsis before I just jump right in. It’s a serious problem.
With that said, I think I liked this book. If you read the synopsis, you may realize that this book is going to be messy but it is way messier than what I would have expected from the blurb. I think my inner-rumor-loving self enjoyed this book because it read like you were learning about some good gossip.
For the technical stuff, it was confusing the way each chapter bounced around in different POV. And there were times that you definitely needed to know who’s POV it was. I would say because of this, don’t earball read this. It would be easier if on the list of chapters it showed the name of each POV and not just chapter 1, chapter 2, etc.
There were some questionable spots in the book that needed editing. For instance, toward the end when Blake is trying to thank the boys for paying for her attorney. She finds out who paid and thanked him. Then in the next chapter, it read like she didn’t know and found out all over again and thanked the guy again.
