A group of six longtime friends (three couples) are at the center of a mystery in Whispering Woods, Tennessee. When the three men disappear, their wives continue to keep secrets 30 years later. Writer Reyna Hart is asked by an elderly friend to look into this mystery, but someone makes it clear from their threats that they want these secrets to remain buried. Reyna gets help from an unexpected source - Ben Kane, the son of one of the missing men. Sparks fly between the two as they question various witnesses throughout town, in spite of the danger.
I enjoyed following Reyna and Ben's investigation and also how their romance unfolded. The story kept me intrigued from the start. The resolution came from a dramatic showdown, but I would have liked it more if it had been more realistic and less over-the-top. Overall, this is still a suspenseful and entertaining book that is a great weekend read.
Queen of suspense. That is how I see debra Webb. She writes these stories. She brings you in and you or hanging on by a thread. Because there's a web that's been woven. Hang on for the ride. The ending will blow you away.
Some say small towns hold no secrets. Well let me tell you they do. Bigger secrets than some big cities.
These secrets, Will blow you away. everyone knows what's going on and no one wants to tell. What's really happening. Or do they.
Another awesome read by the famous. Debra Webb.
This book releases on march 26th I absolute must read.
When three friends in the small community of Whispering Winds disappear together one night, their wives are known as the Whispering Winds widows and the mystery has continued for decades. When the book opens, writer Reyna Hart comes to town from Chattanooga, urged by her elderly friend and former resident Eudora to bring the families closure. Once in town, Reyna meets Ben, one of the men’s sons, whose grandfather wants to find out what happened to his son, too. Together, the two make a formidable team as well as a couple with a steamy relationship that begins not too long after they meet. The mystery is compelling, the pace is rapid and the characters were believable and relatable. The three widows were secretive and formed their own support group. There are numerous secondary characters who contribute to the mystery and who act as suspects as well as red herrings. There is a mystery within a mystery here and a lot of action leading to the conclusion that had some unexpected surprises. I enjoyed the storyline, the characters and the atmosphere of the small town with secrets. This is a book that is hard to put down from beginning to end and one that is haunting in its revelations. This book read like an episode of unsolved mysteries. 30 years ago three men disappeared without a trace. Their widows still live in the same place in the same house as if they are waiting for their husbands to come home. Many crime enthusiasts, private investigators and retired police officers have attempted to solve this mystery with no success.
Reyna is summoned by her friend Eudora to use her investigative skills to write the story. Reyna wrote a best selling book, and now she writes books for those who are suffering from dementia or other such illnesses. Her hope is to write a book for the family about the memories of the patient while their mind is still good. Eudora believes Reyna is fully equipped to solve this mystery.
Someone has to know something. Reyna stated, "We all have secrets. Little things we do or say or that happen which we want to keep to ourselves. A little something we did or a habit that isn't flattering. A mistake we made. That sort of thing." This was deep, but true. She believes she can lift the cloak of silence in this small town and give three wives, a son and a father some closure.
This was not action packed. It was filled with mystery and intrigue. I love puzzles, and this was a giant puzzle of epic proportions. I had some thoughts about what happened, but I was little floored by the conclusion. I did not see that one coming. I flew through the pages of this book in one afternoon because I had to know what happened that night. I was hooked from the first couple of chapters.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Reyna Hart is a writer that has an elderly friend who is in need of her investigative skill. A thirty-year-old mystery that needs solving. Three men went out one night and never came home. Three decades later the three widows, known as the Whispering Winds Widows, are still keeping the same story with no wavering and no remarriage for any of them. Reyna meets with Ben Kane who is one of the missing men's sons. He has tried to do a little sleuthing himself but after all these years to no avail. This small town has secrets that run deep, and with no one talking it has made this investigation a lot more difficult. Warnings start to happen to try and scare off Reyna like a fire in her room and a note of warning, but she just keeps on digging. As the story starts to unveil the secrets, the ending is one you never see coming. Debra Webb has a way with writing a mystery that draws you in from the very first page. This book is the fourth installment in the Lookout Mountain Mysteries that is a standalone story that is not to be missed. Thank you to the author and Harlequin for the Arc of this book.

OMG!!! I can't say enough great things about Debra Webb!!! I have literally read everything she has written and have never been disappointed. Whispering Winds Widows is the 4th book in the Lookout Mountain series by Debra. In this book we meet Lucinda who is angry at the world after her husband left his job in the city to work for his father. Deidre never wanted to make a move to Nashville like her husband had always dreamed of doing and Harlowe just wanted to be a mother but her husband couldn't do that for her. Strangely, all three husbands of the women disappeared mysteriously and the story from the three women is all the same but everyone is skeptical of the story. Can the son of one the men find out what really happened?
Another awesome book by Debra Webb. Once I started reading I just could not put it down.Whenever you pick up a book by her, you know that it will be good and this one did not disappoint.
There were three women who were best friends and they married three men who were best friends. Things were going good until thirty years ago they went to play cards and disappeared never to be seen or heard from again. What made it worse is their bodies were never found. The women vowed to not remarry or sell their current homes until they knew what happened to their husbands.
If you want a book that will keep you on your toes trying to figure out what happened to the men who are now being called "The Three". Everyone is getting up in age and would like answers before they pass away.

Lucinda, Deidre and Harlowe's husbands all disappeared at the same time 30 years ago. Reyna loves to write personal histories and is asked by a woman who lived in Whispering Winds to see if she can find out what happened. When she starts investigating, she gets all the help she needs from Ben, Lucinda's son, and his grandfather. Problem is that the convoluted path she has to take is time consuming and confusing. But Reyna has never backed down from a challenge and she won't back down from this one. This story was a bit slow to get going, but once it does, you'll really enjoy the ride!
When the three went missing thirty years ago, the widows were questioned and told the same story. Now Reyna is trying to find out what happened to them in order to help her friend. But someone is trying to stop her from finding out. Ben, one of the missing men's sons is also wanting to finally find out what happened to his father, to give his grandfather peace. Together, will they be able to solve the mystery?
A great story with a twist at the end. Ms. Webb never disappoints as this is the 4th book in the Lookout Mountain Mysteries. Another great read!

Debra Webb has once again written such an intriguing mystery that I had to read from cover to cover. 3 husbands disappear on the same night 30 years ago leaving 3 widows behind. Lucinda, Deidre, and Harlowe have waited decades for answer as to what happened to their husbands and Debra Webb takes us on an investigative adventure that you will need to read to believe.

A trip back to Tennessee. Debra always does amazing stories. This is where three widows kept a secrets for 30 yrs. Then Reyna Hart came to town to find out what the secrets were. One of the widows refused to talk about what happened 30 years ago. Reyna and Ben Kane were searching for the truth coming closer to the end. What will happen when the truth comes out in the opening. Debra you did a fantastic job on this story. You made characters work fantastic with each other. I enjoyed this book and I recommend others to read it too.
Loved this mystery 30 years in the making. Three men vanish 30 years ago in a small town, leaving no clues as to what happened. Can writer Reyna Hart find the truth. Once she arrives in town, things start happening. It seems someone doesn’t want the truth getting out. This one was full of suspense and action.
Thirty years ago 3 men disappeared, they have never been found. Reyna, an author, has come to town determined to find the answers and write a book about it. Someone doesn’t want her looking into the case. This is a good suspense novel that kept me guessing. It had a twist at the end. Thank you to the author for an advanced readers copy.
No disappointment here. This skilled author has given us another smooth read. The plot is carefully constructed to keep the reader on their toes. As the story moves forward the reader picks up mosaic pieces and the need to see the entire picture keeps the interest high. Give yourself time to read and enjoy.
Three widows who have never married who all lost their husbands the same day! A reporter that comes to town to try to figure out what others have not been able to do after 30 years.
A good read. This book kept me guessing as usual and I had no idea what had happened. It was a shock to find out!
Another terrific installment of the Lookout Mountain series! Ben and Reyna are wonderful characters who are drawn together to solve a thirty year old mystery. An intriguing tale with lots of twists to keep you turning the pages.
I loved this story. I thought it was a little slow at the beginning but it didn't take long for things to heat up. Great story line and Debra Webb keeps getting better with each book she writes.
Who really knows the truth? Lucinda? Harlowe? Deidre? Or are they really sharing a secret for thirty years? One suspenseful moment after another. This book will keep you spellbound till very end! Awesome book by Debra Webb!
Great mystery - quite unique. Lots of twists and hidden players and secrets. Really enjoyed this one. While part of a series, there isn’t any critical interaction with previous characters so ok to read stand alone.
I enjoyed reading this story about how Reyna and Ben meet. I was drawn to keep reading to find out what is happening and how they deal with it some twist and turns that I didn't expect near the end. I love the ending. I look forward to reading the nest book Peril In Piney Woods
