What's up with disappointing finales lately? It's been three years since I've read the previous book and it's quite challenging to recall the things happened. Anyways, Kissed by an Angel series is one of the most underrated YA Paranormal Romance series and it's very emotional. The first three books made me cry REALLY HARD and it's one of my favorite series I've read.
Honestly, it should have ended on the third book. Not that I didn't enjoy the 4th and 5th book, it added some twists and mystery. I trust Elizabeth Chandler on that because she really writes good mystery novels. This finale disappointed me ... BIG TIME. I threw my book across the room and I don't feel any ounce of regret. I'M NOT OKAY WITH ITS ENDING. I'M TOTALLY BETRAYED. My heart breaks over this.. The characters' effort to save each other became pointless. DAMN IT. DAMN TREE.
I'm glad I finished this series (despite of the disappointing ending). If you're going to read this series, just read the first three books. They're really good.

What do I think? What do I think!? I feel so cheated. I'm still crying as I write this. Logic would dictate that I wait a little before writing this review but I've never been one to think logically when it comes to books that elicit this sort of emotional response from me. The book was amazing right up until the penultimate scene....but more on that later. The book
It's a bittersweet ending, I'm sure that some will absolutely love it. But I'm not one of those people. I prefer my endings to be 100% happy, with plot lines wrapped up nice and neat. This ending doesn't do that and there are couple of large questions that still loom and I can only hope that Elizabeth Chandler will do one last book to wrap up everything in a happy way.

Oh my gosh! Get the hell over yourselfs if you didn't like the books fine no one said you had to but there are other people who like her books and specially this series so shut up stop hating because your not famous for a book probably half the world; which may I remind you ladies that the world is bigger then just you or your opinion; actually likes thank you very much

What a complete disappointment. Very rarely do I feel strongly enough to leave a comment and almost never to leave a negative comment- but the way this series just got progressively worse and culminated with one of the worst endings I think I have ever read was astonishing. The ending was rushed, not written well ( it was hard to understand not only the reasoning behind it but what was actually happening)
What a complete waste of time I spent reading the last three books.
Wow- what a terrible ending. It didn't even make sense. What purpose did it serve? And, me, a reader who cries at anything- was not even moved enough to shed a tear when the main character kills herself. That should say something about the writing.

What the hell. That ending. Uh no. Unnecessary. I don't know how to rate this right now cause I'm still trying to process what just happened. I feel like this whole series was a waste of my time now! Like I definitely didn't plan on reading 6 six books just to have Ivy finally die in the ending like she was supposed to in the first one. Her and Tristan were supposed to be free of Gregory and his ass needed to die but technically he won in the end anyways! I probably should have waited to write this but I just need to rant now. I don't know if this deserves 3 or 4 stars. Probably just 3 because that ending pissed me off. Like really though why would Tristan be punished as an angel and return to Earth when he died in the first place too. They might as well have both died so they can be together! I am happy that he ended up with his family again and he got his life back cause I guess he does deserve it since he was never meant to die in the first place. But still that ending was NOT what I was expecting. Elizabeth Chandler you better make a new series about Lacey's mission now. It's the least you can do for giving this pretty great 6 books long series a craptastic not very happy ending. I'm disappointed.

I'm disappointed. Even though book 4+5 wasn't as good as the first 3, i had high hopes for this, for it being the conclusion.
All but the last 50 or so pages was boring, and even that bit annoyed me.
I've said it to quite a few people, but this turned out to be like Hush Hush. It went downhill with every book, Then ruined the whole series with the conclusion.
The series would have been much better if it just ended at the three.

A disappointing end to an otherwise enjoyable series.
I’m so sad that this book series has finally come to an end. *Sniff, sniff.* I’ve been following along with each installment for a while now – 3+ years and so many things have changed since then that I can’t help feeling a little bit nostalgic! I’ve always cited this series as my guilty pleasure, but unfortunately, book six the final novel in the series was a real disappointment. And thinking about it, I think it links back to how much I’ve changed since I started reading this series. My reading tastes are different, I’ve read a lot more widely and I’ve grown up. Sadly, this has made the faults of this book excruciatingly clear.
I really struggled with the writing in Everafter, I don’t know if it was particularly bad in this novel because I’ve never had a problem with it before or if my knowledge of writing has simply improved, I have a feeling it’s a little bit of both. Chandler’s writing has always been simplistic, but she has always made up for it by making her stories engaging. Unfortunately, I never felt engaged reading Everafter, and it seemed like 90% of the book was telling rather than showing which was unpleasant to read.
The thing with Everafter is that it’s old fashioned YA. What I mean by that is Chandler published the first novel in this series in 1995 and then returned to add to the series again in 2011 when the paranormal romance market rose in popularity. There’s been such a revolution in YA lately and it just keeps getting better and better, but reading Chandler’s writing it’s clear that she hasn’t moved and adapted with the times because her plots, characters and themes aren’t very complex or sophisticated. To be brutally honest, it doesn’t stack up in comparison to the amazing books I’ve been reading recently; it’s starting to feel dated which is both sad but interesting from a reader’s perspective.
I struggled with this book partly because it didn’t feel like an individual story by itself and was very much a continuation of the previous novel, Everlasting. Instead of tackling a new problems, it dealt with the ramifications of the previous novel without adding anything new or interesting. Gregory’s powers continued to grow, Ivy and Tristan were still struggling with making their relationship work while also trying to clear Tristan’s name as a wanted murderer while the real killer was still on the loose. I did enjoy the additions of the characters pondering their futures in terms of going to colleges and having their friendships split up, and a lot of the clues that helped the characters catch the killer were inventive and unusual but this couldn’t overrule the main issues I had. I feel like it would have been so much better if this hadn’t been turned into an individual book. Additionally, the bad guys and their motivations were weak and almost laughable.
The main thing that I wanted from this novel was for Tristan and Ivy to get the worthy ending that they deserved. I’ve been rooting for this bookish couple for a long time, fist pumping every time they conquered that barriers between life and death. Did Chandler give me what I wanted? Well, yes and no. Events didn’t turn out exactly the way I wanted them too, but I do feel like the ending could have only gone the way it did.
I hate having to give this book such a low rating (all the previous books have been 4+ stars), but even though I tried to search for the good in Everafter, I struggled to find it. Put simply, I’ve outgrown this series and it’s a real shame that I didn’t finish it before this happened, but I will still cherish the memories of younger me reading the earlier books, utterly engrossed in their pages.

I'm hoping this'll be a good book to read. Whoa, wait what am I saying? Elizabeth Chandler books are always good books! Well, probably better than just "good"- they're amazing! Her books always give me inspiration! She gives very good descriptive words, and I'm sure this book won't be a downer. As soon as I see this in Chapters, I'm buying it ! It's one of those "must have" books. What I'm really wanting is to read a chapter of it. 1 CHAPTER! I could read her books, over and over. :)

A 3 star review. You ask why? Well I have been a fan of the original trilogy for a long time. These last three books have been a huge let down. I was expecting them to expand on the story, not ruin it. I was in love with Ivy and Tristan. Then I became a huge Will fan. Gregory I loved to hate for a while, now I just hate him. I feel that the books went completely off track of what the original series was. It was about love and the power of an angel. This series? Revenge! Chandler, I am sorry but I don't understand what you were trying to do with this book. It did not end happily. We never had an ending with Lacy (who is the best character in my opinion). Poor Phillip is so lost and needed someone in his life. Tristan, well lets just say this was originally a love story, not some tragic depressing ending. I might be the only one, but I wanted more. I wanted a happy ending for at least some of the characters and not just despair in the last pages. Harsh review? Maybe. But the truth of the reviewer should be given. Should you buy this book? No. Read the first trilogy and stop.

I'm still debating on how to rate this one… I really liked it until the end. Not only was the ending , but I was really confused by it ()! And, for heaven’s sake (no pun intended!!) after don’t they (and we!!) deserve ?! SO stupid!! One of the main reasons I continued this series was that I was so sure !!
I do have to admit that the book was VERY tense and unpredictable, though. I was shocked when ! And, I absolutely loved the ending (and build-up to the ending) with !! My only regret is that none of it was from their POV ()! I still like the sweet thoughts about love, angels, and heaven in these books--and the good-overcoming-evil plot. And, I like most of the characters (particularly Tristan, Will, Beth, and Phillip--even Ivy has gotten back into my good graces in the last two books). I was really glad there was some closure and better explanation of what went down with Ivy and Will a couple of books ago--I had such a bad taste in my mouth about that when I first read it and I really hated Ivy over how awful she was to Will. It was nice to get a new and better perspective on this here (). I also appreciated that the author had better story/character recap at the beginning of this book than she had in the previous book. But, I still wished I had a glossary of the characters /events as I was reading--there really are A LOT of characters and some of them are kind of similar which makes them confusing…
If not for my extreme disappointment in the ending, this book would have been one of my favorites of the series. I’m really torn on what to actually rate it… Maybe I’ll go with 3.5--probably would have been more of a 4.5 before the last couple of chapters.

Okay, I am SO not over this book yet. REALLY?! REALLY?! REALLY?! Yes, it was that horrible for me. The whole thing was SO GOOD. Until the last 20 pages of it. Ugh. I could've ripped off those pages and lived on in a cliffhanger rather than knowing that's what happened in the end. Still, for the story, I give 4 stars. The ending, one star. I swear.

There is one thing you have to understand about these books and me. They are my life. The Kissed by an Angel series has honestly provided insight into my life. When I first found out that this book was coming out with the name Everafter, of course I knew it was finally going to be the end, which saddened me. I didn't want it to end but, I needed to know what happened to Ivy and Tristan. So I reluctantly read it with great joy, for the first part at least. Every single time they said "Everafter" I cried and couldn't bring myself to stop. I read it and enjoyed it up until the second last chapter. The second last chapter is when I completely broke down.
She died. What on earth was that?! That defies the whole purpose of Tristan being thrown out of heaven. And the fact that Tristan just keeps living without her?! I mean, yes, it was cute how at the end Tristan is there for Philip but, Philip won't be a little kid forever. As much as I hate the ending, I know that it had to come to an end. Personally, I just wish that Ivy and Tristan could have been together at last for all eternity. They deserve it. They barely had any time together when they were both alive. It wasn't fair. But doesn't that just throw in that touch of reality? I mean, when in life is there ever really a happy ending? As much as you want it, just like Ivy and Tristan, you will never be able to get it which is just the harsh reality but, in a way always the beauty.
If there is one important thing this series has taught me it's that: life isn't fair. We have to make the best out of our lives while we have it. And as hard as it may seem sometimes, you have to fight for your life, because even if it isn't worth anything to you, there will be your Ivy or Tristan out there who just simply wouldn't be able to function without you.

Worst ending to a series, ever.
Ivy's friends are so stupid and so annoying that I had to skim most of the scenes with them in it. Aside from being dumb, they never contributed anything to the story.
And the ending was HORRIBLE! That was the biggest letdown imaginable of a 6-book series. After everything Ivy and Tristan went through, she just kills herself? Really? That was the best solution she could come up with? She couldn't have, I don't know, aimed the tree directly for the demon?! And where did she get these random mystical powers from anyway? Has she been supernatural the whole time? Holy plot holes, Batman! Ugh!

OK.... I'm a hero... I must be a hero to survive all this things.
Let's see what we have here:
* Most unrealistic dialogues
* Worst romance
* Worst set of characters
* Most unrealistic relationships/friendships
* Worst protagonist
* Worst antagonist (he does not even have a real reason!)
* No logic whatsoever... I mean why did she do what she did in the end? I still don't get it.
* Oh... no explanations, no reasons behind ANYTHING.
I'm sorry, this is seriously one of my worst series and I think, it's a real achievement that I managed to finish it.

I was expecting a much more conclusive resolution to the series. It was an enjoyable if somewhat long-winded read, but I felt the ending of the first trilogy was far superior.

i really liked this installment right up until the end i realize that in the first book ivy was the one Gregory intended to kill and instead Tristan died but i was a bit gutted that she died for things to go back to the natural order i guess when the author decided to write another three sequels bringing Tristan back i gathered it was for a reason instead however we have ended up in much the same place except Tristan and ivy have switched.Also i feel Gregory got his way in the end yeah sure he died getting it but he managed to kill ivy as he had always intended to do separating her from tristan again in the process which was very frustrating talk about no justice.I really hope the author writes another sequel to wrap some of this up. Apart from that it was possibly my fav book in the series i would have given it 5 stars if the ending hadn't felt so pointless tbh if you have only read the first book you may as well keep it at that cos not much has changed.

Disappointing! Through all the hardships overcome by Ivy and Tristan, the series came to a grim and depressing end. It would have been better to end the series at book number 3 with its bittersweet ending.

After all of Ivy's crying and hers and Tristian's wishing and struggle to be together, THAT'S the ending we get?! Big disappointment. Chandler should have just the left the series alone after the third book. If she needed a few extra bucks or because she missed her characters is the reason why she decided to continue the series, then personally, I think she should have started a book (series) on Lacey, because personally, she's been my favorite character through the whole series.

3 stars!
Okay, after getting some sleep, I've decided to lower it to 3 stars. Why? Because in my own opinion, as much as I loved the first three books and was super excited to see new books in the series, I feel like it either should've ended there or have had a different ending. Book four was more or less like finding the footing in continuing the series, book five was better (in my last review, I was really hoping Beth and Will and Ivy and Tristan to get to have their happily ever after), and then... we get book six. When I finished it, I just sat there in shock- I really didn't know if I was angry, sad,or both and I was at a loss for words.
Now, don't get me wrong! I understand it all coming to a complete circle and I understand why Ivy made the choice that she did. I get it. However, that does not mean that I'm happy about it.
I really don't know, I feel disappointed most of all.
She had always thought of the sky as high, but she liked imagining it as deep, another ocean.

The end was kind of disappointing. I didn't understand the conclusion that Ivy came to redeem Tristan at all, and there wasn't much of an explanation for how Lacey was able to move on either. I was really hoping that after SIX BOOKS she would have but at the end she felt like an afterthought.

A BREATHTAKING CONCLUSION? MORE LIKE BREATH-FUCKING DISASTER.
I WAS SOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE ENDING - I'd already felt like the series was getting drawn out & the book was okay, but the ending just ruined everything.
So Gregory needs to possess a new body so he can have his vengeance on Ivy, whose hiding Tristan, now in the body of Luke, an accused murderer, at a harbor area in an empty house, whose family moved away after their oldest son died, murdered by Gregory, who killed the boy with a lightening bolt. Bryan murdered Corinne & Alicia & he'd framed Luke for it, so Ivy has to clear Luke's name b/c her Angel Tristan is in him. Kelsey's the jealous type, chasing after Bryan, Chase's ego's huge, Beth & will have this issue admitting their love for each other until way later on. Demon Gregory goes into Chase's body & follows her one night & she leads him away from Tristan - Tristan & Ivy know Gregory's in Chases's body but the demon didn't know Tristan was in Luke's so when Tristan reveals that to him; he's shocked at first - anyway, Ivy & her friends all go on this little boating trip, where a storm starts up & Gregory, in possession of Chase, turns the wheel while they're on the water & overturns the boat. They make it out alive, all of them - supposedly. Later, they figure out that Bryan, who was with them in the boat, actually died & now Gregory has a permanent body to reside in, like Tristan does; Luke's soul has passed on. Ivy's poking around for information to pur Bryan behind bars & Max admits he drove her off the road one night in the earlier books & he felt incredibly guilty; but that was Gregory controlling him - they go see Luke's old landlady who gives them Corinne's flash drive with all her pictures; they give that to Will, who's gonna look into it. Meanwhile, Gregory's playing his games, giving nightmares to Ivy's friends & turning Kelsey & Dhanya against her & he's starting to gain power. At one point, Ivy takes her little brother Phillip, who knew Tristan as himself & he recognizes Tristan in Luke's body & they become fast friends again. Tristan nearly kills Gregory when they get into a fight but as a fallen angel, if he kills, he'll be damned & he has to redeem himself. Will brings over evidence he found in Corinne's flash drive & he needs another day then they're taking it to the police. Gregory gives Ivy a hallucination when they're at the cemetery & almost gets hit by a van if Tristan didn't save her. Tristan's kidnapped a bit later on & Phillip called Ivy to tell her Gregory burned down his treehouse - so she goes over to her brother, & Tristan wakes up in a mausoleum, tied up & calls for Lacey, one of their angel friends, whose been there throughout the story. Ivy knows something's wrong when Tristan doesn't pick up his phone & goes to the cemetery - the same one where Gregory's buried. Tristan's looking out from his tiny window in the mausoleum, watching while Gregory gives IVy a vision of Tristan bleeding & dying, tied to a huge statue of an angel - Ivy snaps out of it when 'Tristan' tells her to shoot him then herself. She knew Tristan would never ask that of her - Tristan gets free & Gregory comes out from his hiding spot & he gets the gun & when Tristan & him fight for it, Tristan gets it & shoots Gregory but no bullets come out - Lacey took them out. The two of them start fighting & Ivy has some bloody divine intervention where she sees the cops coming & shit & realizes that they have to make things the way they were meant to be by severing her & Tristan's earthly bond - THE FUCK??? & she had to find the courage to let go for him??? She hears a voice saying God's love is with her?? THE HELL??????
So she pulls Tristan away & tells him she loves him, now & everafter & the FUCKING TREE FALLS ON HER & GREGORY..

THE ENDING PISSED ME OFF & I LOVED THE SERIES BUT HELL NO, THIS WAS NOT "BREATHTAKING" IT WAS STUPID.
A BREATHTAKING CONCLUSION? MORE LIKE BREATH-FUCKING DISASTER.
I WAS SOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE ENDING - I'd already felt like the series was getting drawn out & the book was okay, but the ending just ruined everything.
So Gregory needs to possess a new body so he can have his vengeance on Ivy, whose hiding Tristan, now in the body of Luke, an accused murderer, at a harbor area in an empty house, whose family moved away after their oldest son died, murdered by Gregory, who killed the boy with a lightening bolt. Bryan murdered Corinne & Alicia & he'd framed Luke for it, so Ivy has to clear Luke's name b/c her Angel Tristan is in him. Kelsey's the jealous type, chasing after Bryan, Chase's ego's huge, Beth & will have this issue admitting their love for each other until way later on. Demon Gregory goes into Chase's body & follows her one night & she leads him away from Tristan - Tristan & Ivy know Gregory's in Chases's body but the demon didn't know Tristan was in Luke's so when Tristan reveals that to him; he's shocked at first - anyway, Ivy & her friends all go on this little boating trip, where a storm starts up & Gregory, in possession of Chase, turns the wheel while they're on the water & overturns the boat. They make it out alive, all of them - supposedly. Later, they figure out that Bryan, who was with them in the boat, actually died & now Gregory has a permanent body to reside in, like Tristan does; Luke's soul has passed on. Ivy's poking around for information to pur Bryan behind bars & Max admits he drove her off the road one night in the earlier books & he felt incredibly guilty; but that was Gregory controlling him - they go see Luke's old landlady who gives them Corinne's flash drive with all her pictures; they give that to Will, who's gonna look into it. Meanwhile, Gregory's playing his games, giving nightmares to Ivy's friends & turning Kelsey & Dhanya against her & he's starting to gain power. At one point, Ivy takes her little brother Phillip, who knew Tristan as himself & he recognizes Tristan in Luke's body & they become fast friends again. Tristan nearly kills Gregory when they get into a fight but as a fallen angel, if he kills, he'll be damned & he has to redeem himself. Will brings over evidence he found in Corinne's flash drive & he needs another day then they're taking it to the police. The ending… I’m still not okay

So even though this series is one of myleast liked and read only out of loyalty and my OCD needs I still feel very disappointed and displeased after finishing this last book in the series. I'm going to try and just point out the main things that bothered me and not go on a rant (though I probably still will, my feelings are just so strong right now).
1. I'm a romantic by heart and if a book doesn't have any romance in it, not even a smidge, it's a safe bet that I won't like it very much. This book and the series as a whole is very much romace focused but this is not a good thing. The love between Tristan and Ivy is very selfish, they are very focused on trying to be together that even though they try to take other people's well being in account, at the end when they are faced with chosing to be together and hurting someone, the inevitably choose themselves. Like the main character Ivy states in this book: The goal is not to destroy Gregory (a demon hell bent on killing them and ruining people's lives), the goal is for us to be together.
2. As I've mentioned in my review of the previous book the angel aspect of this book/series is very weak and not thought out or explored enough. It only serves as a way for Ivy and Tristan to still be together even after one of them dies.
3. The ending of this book made me realize that I've wasted time reading all of the books in the series because frankly, with the way things end in Everafter, I could have just as easy left things the way they were with the third book. I know that it wasn't the author's intention to have the ending leave things worse than they were at the beginning, but that is how I felt after reading the last chapter. For the life of me I cannot reconcile with the last few events and not because I like the characters and I didn't want them to end the way they did. SPOILER!! How is Ivy being dead and Tristan being stuck in a stranger's body not being able to tell his parents he's alive better that just Tristan being dead and Ivy alive. Tristan's death was already mourned, now they have to deal with Ivy dying as well. I just don't understand. At all.

Inizio col dire che Elizabeth Chandler mi ha fatta piangere! E' raro che succeda perché per quanto intense siano le emozioni che mi suscita un libro, cerco sempre di non esternarle. Invece, con "Sarà per sempre" sono arrivate le lacrime.
Il finale assolutamente inaspettato e insperato, lascia totalmente senza fiato. Nonostante il dolore che suscita l'ultimo colpo di scena, è molto importante il messaggio che lascia dietro di sé: la perdita di una persona cara è sempre un evento sconvolgente, ma bisogna comunque trovare in qualche modo la forza per andare avanti. E poi, chissà, magari tornerà da noi sotto forma di angelo!
Un personaggio su cui vorrei spendere due parole è Gregory. Non è facile creare un cattivo così ben caratterizzato e così veramente CATTIVO, da farti venire i brividi al solo leggere il suo nome, ma Elizabeth Chandler ci è riuscita in modo incredibile. Neanche l'altro assassino presente nella trilogia possiede il suo stesso charme.
Mi è piaciuta molto la nuova coppia nata in quest'ultimo libro, perché oltre all'amore a prima vista che dura anche oltre la morte, incarnato da Tristan e Ivy, esiste anche quell'amicizia che piano piano si trasforma fino a diventare qualcosa di più.
In conclusione, "Baciata da un angelo" è una saga stupenda, con il giusto mix di thriller e romanticismo e consiglio veramente a tutti di leggerla almeno una volta nella vita.

The book Everafter changed my view on all books. It started my love for books. The way the author, Elizabeth Chandler, wrote this story and leaves you with questions after each chapter made this story even better. All throughout the story she changes your opinion on who might be the bad or good characters. This is the last book in a series of six books. The story is about a girl named Ivy who has gone through a lot of challenges and miracles. In this book she has finally figured out how to get rid of the antagonist Gregory. Ivy and her boyfriend Tristan, who has just become a fallen angel trapped in another man’s body, are trying to get rid of Gregory who has come back as a demon. Gregory is trying to kill Ivy for killing him in the third book. At the same time of trying to figure out how to fight Gregory, they are trying to clear the name of the man who Tristan is stuck in for a murder he didn’t commit. I believe this book is a great end to the series. This book made me laugh, cry, and smile. If you’re a person who enjoys fantasies and characters that have a love beyond death this book would be a great pick for you.

I can let out a sigh of relief for enjoying this finale!
Of the final 3 books in this series, this is the one with the most action. It held my attention for most of it, everything relating to Gregory boiled my blood, in a way justice was finally served, and it had a bittersweet ending. When I first read this, I really wanted another book; I thought there's no way it could end like this! But experiencing everything this series offers again I definitely change my opinion. This was a good finale. Not every book or love story has to have a happy ending. Sometimes you need a sad ending and having one doesn't make the book bad. All the torment, all the stress, betrayals that each character went through were put to rest, closure was received, it was all done and dusted.
Going through this experience again, I 100% don't love these books as much as I used to and I'm going to have to really let that marinate in my heart and head for a while. To go from absolutely adoring something for years to finding out you no longer feel the same is not fun.. but this series still holds some importance to me and I'm glad I reread them.
