Ageless Face, Ageless Mind: Erase Wrinkles and Rejuvenate the Brain

Rate this book
In this revolutionary book, bestselling author and anti-aging expert Dr. Nicholas Perricone reveals a completely new and hidden threat to our looks and our health–and gives us a program to defeat it.

Dr. Nicholas Perricone has gotten to the bottom of accelerated aging with the discovery of AGEs (Advanced Glycation End Products). AGEs are at least as detrimental to our health as transfats but have been largely unknown outside the medical community. AGEs give us wrinkles, but they have also been implicated in serious age-related conditions that cut across all medical specialties, from Alzheimer’s and cataracts to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. Yet we have not had strategic interventions for stopping and reversing the effects of AGEs until now.

Dr. Perricone shows us how to win the fight against AGEs with a three-part plan of attack that includes a nutritional program, targeted supplements, and new topicals. His groundbreaking program helps to

• erase wrinkles and firm sagging skin
• reverse age-related memory loss
• heal cardiovascular disease
• stop precursors of cancer
• prevent symptoms of diabetes

Ageless Face, Ageless Mind brings us not only a new and exciting field of research and its remarkable discoveries, but also a way to fight one of the biggest hidden threats to our immediate and long-term health.

Loved the book. Easy to flip through and find what interests you. The book also discuses environmental issues, dealing with food, fish, and spices as far as "eco-friendly" sellers. It gives lists of what fish are most environmentally friendly and which ones should be wild or farm raised. Lots of information here. Holistic and well researched.

Half was good but too much repetition and totally obvious statements like for example: important to choose the right shoes for exercise except for swimming.... really.

Real over 30 birthday reading here. As a read it's repetitive and with some serious product placement for his line of skin care products so I'll just give you the essential tip: AVOID SUGAR! Anyone who knows me knows this isn't what I wanted to hear. Sugars chains bond to protein chains and cause all manner of deterioration .... so potatoes are out, browned/carmelized foods the devil, breaded proteins like ammo ready for war....
Now drinking fish oil straight out of the carton, upping my supplement budget and avoiding carby monster dinners.

Makes an excellent case for increasing the intake of foods high in antioxidants and for avoiding cooking methods that promote the formation of harmful aging substances in the body. I also liked the grocery list and exercises included in the book.

A STRONG testimonial for raw food! I enjoyed the strong science focus on the content. I may have to retread a written copy of this rather than the audio book so as to culminate all the great information provided!

I am a big fan of Dr. Perricone, and this book still had useful and interesting information, but it felt more like he was trying to sell something in this one than in his other books.

Common sense - eat salmon, exercise, don't smoke or drink alcohol, oh, and don't forget to buy his stem cell rejuvenation products!... not a big help.
