I know we are all sick to death of the Fifty Shades comparisons but it is diffucult not to compare. However this is more romantic, no BDSM, no gross-me-out sex, no change everything about you nonsense,and the girl is a woman, all of that makes this better.
The characters are flawed and vulnerable and want to be better people. Like Fifty Shades the guy is rich and acts like a jerk and has had a terrible trama that influences his sex life. Unlike FiftyShades the woman (not girl) refuses to enable him in continuing the unhealthy way he approaches sex. Let me be clear, I didn't say that the sex scenes were bad or the acts that the two consenting adults do is unhealthy; but rather his approach and attitude were unhealthy. I like how the characters resolve their issues.
I like that this is released as the collection. I don't always have patience to buy short after short sometimes serials, with their cliffhangers, end up ticking me off, and I won't buy the next one. I like the happy endings.

I loved this audiobook!

I read The Billionaire's Obsession way back in 2013 and enjoyed it very much. I was just getting started reading for pleasure again after a way too long hiatus (20+ years) due to working. It was also one of my earliest erotic/slightly kinky stories. I've seen many people call it a Fifty Shades rip-off but I disagree. While there are similarities (billionaire, alpha male/young college student) the stories are quite different in my opinion.

I wasn't writing reviews of books back in 2013 so I never reviewed Simon and Kara's story. When I was offered a free code for the audiobook, I decided to give it a try. I really loved listening to this! Since I've gotten into audiobooks over the last few years, I've found that I have a prejudice against most female narrators but Elizabeth Powers did a fantastic job reading this story. Her voice is soothing and extremely pleasant to listen to. Her vocal inflections are nearly perfect. She doesn't try to do a male voice for the male characters but she changes her voice enough that you know who is speaking.

As for the story, it is HOT, red HOT! Simon definitely has issues; he needs to have control at all times and he doesn't like to be touched. We eventually find out why this is and then it wasn't hard to understand why he is the way he is. Falling in love with Kara wasn't part of his game plan but he just can't help himself.

At times Kara might seem like she's a pushover and submits to Simon in all ways but we soon find out that she is strong enough to handle Simon's kinks and that her love can help save him.

I really enjoyed revisiting these characters and am happy to have found another female narrator whose voice I enjoy listening to.

So pleasantly surprised by this series!

I would never have purchased them individually and I am not a fan of the "serial" novel, but this one definitely pulled me out of my book slump. Simon is a genius--literally--and a computer nerd. He's also a billionaire, sex on a stick alpha male and a bit damaged. Kara is a nursing student trying--and failing--to make it through her last semester of school before 4 years of 80 hour work weeks, financial troubles and exhaustion destroy her well laid plans. You have the normal trust issues, his baggage, an attack that left her hospitalized, her need for independence, his need for control......and hella hot sex scenes. Two words--Mutual masturbation.

I love this genre--the billionaire and the sweet girl who he sweeps off her feet and on to her back--and have read more than my fair share of CRAP as a result, but I loved this one.

It is official. J.S. Scott is my new favorite author.

I am completely in love with this scarred, emotionally damaged hero who watched Kara for a year, protecting her before they actually meet.

I don't want to spoiler anything, but this author knows how to write a hero who will invade your mind and soul. Simon is a revelation. I rarely give 5 star reviews but I was so caught up in Kara and Simon's story I was swept along with it. Bravo, J.S. Scott.

Off to start Sam's story, I have a hard time believing I can love a character as much as I loved Simon but I'm wont be surprised it happens.

Highly recommended for lovers of intense erotic romance.

Long and drawn out and not realistic. Simon is obsessed with Kara so much he followed her home every day for a year. He saves her from fainting on the sidewalk and takes her too his condo. She never met him before yet when he orders her to stay with him while she gets well, she agrees. First of all who would do that? She willingly stays with a man she never met because he said to? Then she loses her apartment and he finds all this out and she lives with him permanently. Really? Weeks later they fall in love and he admits he was obsessed with her and followed her home for a year and she doesn't care. Really? There sex appeal isn't believable either. When Simon talks about himself as a billionaire, men don't talk the way he does. So fake. I'm sorry for the brutal review. It's my opinion only.

I purposely stay away from 'Billionaire' books for obvious reasons.
I was surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Simon was an Alpha Dom yet he was kind, sweet, and endearing.
The heroine was nobody's fool and the two of them worked together very well--Great chemistry for them and hot sex scenes for us.
It was a great read and I think I got it for .99.
I was very pleasantly surprised in all aspects.
I'll definitely be checking out more from this Author.

Was a nice enjoyable easy read, and a bargain price for the set.

At one point (when it was hinting at Simon never having had a girlfriend, except one woman when he was 16 and his life changed yadda yadda - I worried it was going to go down a Mrs Robinson copy of 50 shades of grey, but thankfully it did not)

Kara frustrated me at the halfway point! She decided she can wait until Simon is ready to tell her what had happened to him when he was young, let him do it in his own time, then the very next day is emotionally blackmailing the poor guy to get him to tell her!

In fact she seemed quite willing to use his fear of losing her to get her own way a lot tbh!

But, all in was a decent enough read and I may pick up Sam's story in the future.

I love this series. Simon is a gruff, awkward computer "geek". He is also a hot Alpha male. Kara is a poor college student struggling to make ends meet and get her nursing degree. Simon watches Kara from afar for a year. She works for his mom and Kara walks by his apartment every night on the way home from work. He follows her to make sure she gets home ok. She has never met Simon until one fateful night walking home from work and still battling sickness she passes out in the middle of the sidewalk. Simon catches her and takes her inside, gets a dr called for her and nurses her back to health. Simon offers Kara a deal she can't refuse-one night with him in exchange for him helping her with school and any other financial obligations. She doesn't have to take the one night- he will help her anyway. Simon and Kara have an undeniable chemistry. Kara takes him up on her one night she can't resist. But is one night enough for them?

I recommend this series to anyone who likes the Alpha male with issues, the girl who can turn it all around and HEA! This book isn't just about bedding each other though- there is that but there is also a real plot line and drama to go along with it. I love the characters in this series. I can not get enough!

Wow, I loved this series. Kara Hudson, is trying to finish nursing school and work full time to support herself, but bad luck seems to follow her. She is a very independent woman who would rather do without than ask for help. Simon Hudson, is a billionaire, who has been obsessed with Kara, since the first time he saw her working in his mother's restaurant. Kara, is a warm, loving, and feisty woman and Simon, is alpha male, possessive, and quite bossy. Once these two get together, the sparks really ignite. Kara can tell from the beginning that Simon, has been scarred by things in his past, and being the type of person that she is, wants to help him deal with whatever it is. He is not the only one with issues though, because Kara has a real problem, with the fact that he is so wealthy, and she has always been one paycheck away from poverty. You will have to read the book to see how these two, get past all of their differences, to see if they can possibly have a future together. Loved it, and really looking forward to reading the book about Sam and Maddie, Simon's brother and Kara's friend, who we got to meet in this series. Kudos to J.S. Scott, for making me fall in love with the characters in this book, and not wanting to put it down or have it end.

Mine For Tonight, Mine For Now, Mine For Forever, Mine Completely. WOW!! Four books, one amazing series, one fantastic box set. I loved this story so much, each time wanting more and Author JS Scott did not disappoint, giving me more of Simon and Kara. Simon is totally in love with Kara and she is falling for him, two wonderful characters each with stubborn personalities but fantastic to read about. You hear all about Simon's past which is stomach churning to read, but he opens up to Kara, she is slowly stripping away all his defences and there is nothing he can do about it, he loves her too much, only thing he never backs down from is her safety it means everything to him, without her in his life, he would be a shell of a man. Kara can't believe how lucky she is to have a man like Simon in her life. She has never been a one for extravagant gifts, she has had to watch every penny. Rather than buy gifts, she likes to make things for Simon or think of something he would like, it comes from the heart, she is a wonderful person, no wonder Simon is in love with her. Life is not without it's ups and downs, so unfortunately things don't run smooth for this couple but one thing is for sure LOVE will always remain. MINE!! is definitely my favourite word while reading this story because Simon is MINE!!

What a pleasant surprise! Found the first story of this trilogy "free" at iBook store and gave it a try. Nicely done. Enjoyed both characters so much that I went back to pick up the sequel(s) and found the entire series wrapped up in this book for 99 cents at the iBook store. .

Simon was a heartthrob. A girl's fantasy come true! He met Kara over a year ago and well...he became a stalker of sorts. He had some issues that had him staying away from her, but that all came to a screeching halt PDQ.

The chemistry was off the charts! Some scenes had me fanning myself. :-)

Kara was a good soul. She had a difficult life and Simon stepped right up to the plate in a grand way and became her guardian angel.

Mine for tonight- Kara is a nursing student who also works as a waitress. Her bosses son, Simon, is totally taken by Kara even though they have never met. When Simon see's Kara walking home from work in an outfit so unlike her he begins to follow her. She leans on a pole because she is dizzy & just before she passes out her reaches her. He takes her up to his penthouse and has a doctor check her over. She has been sick with a virus for the past few days. The doctor recommends food, fluid and rest. Simon demands she stay with him until she is feeling better. When Simon sends his assistant to get some of Kara's things from her apartment, he finds that her roommate has not been paying the rent & has made off with almost all of Jara's possessions. Simon agrees to help Kara get back on her feet by giving her a place to stay, food to eat, clothes to wear & money to spend. His only pay back is that she doesn't work other then school. He also wants her to consider giving up total control & having sex with him for just one night. When that finally happens, she comes to realize that Simon is hiding something. And as much as she has done for him, she needs to be his friend & help him. But will he let her? Is there more to this one night of passion between the two of them? ...on to book 2!!!

Mine For Now- book 2
Kara & Simon are still living together. They have spent some time getting to know each other and she knows that something bad has happened to him. She wants to figure out what it was and help him to get over it.
At the clinic where Kara volunteer's, 2 men hold her at gun point wanting drugs. When Kara trips the alarm, the men vow to her that they will get her.
Kara knows that she is falling for Simon. When they attend Simon's birthday party, at his brother Sam's house, she ends up overhearing & seeing a woman proposition Simon & kiss him. When she walks down to the boat dock to get away, Sam ends up propositioning her. She slaps him across the face & has James, the driver, take her home. Once there she packs a few things & leaves a note for Simon that she is leaving & will pay him back once she gets a job.
Sam runs into her at a restaurant and asks to speak to her. He apologizes to her and tells her that Simon is miserable without her. She accepts his apology and leaves the restaurant. As she is walking away, lost in thought, the 2 junkies that tried to rob the clinic grab her & lead her to a car. She is fighting against them. They are smashing her head against the roof of the car when she hears & see's Sam come for her. The last thing she hears before she blacks out is the ambulance is on its way & so is Simon & he is pissed.
On to book 3...

Mine Forever-book 3
So in this story, Simon & Kara are trying to work things out. He finally comes clean with her and explains where he got his scars from. Sam is mentioned in this book and it seem's that he still has feelings for Maddie...may be an opening for his story to be told. At the end Simon finally takes the steps to move forward in their relationship...something big happens at the end...read it to find out;-)
Mine completely- book 4
Kara & Simon are to be married in a month. She has one thing she wants-for him to sign a prenuptial agreement. When she brings it up, he totally freaks out.
She has been so emotional lately that she asks Maddie to run some blood work. The results are surprising. You have to read it to find out...

Oh & yes there is more Sam & Maddie in this book...can't wait to read their story!!!

 can 100% say this is not my normal kind of story. What got me interested was its by my fav author. Then my daughter asked me if i read it and i was like no. She says u should, so i grabed a free copy of Ethans mate and i had to read them all. Mrs Jan once again had me hook line and sinker. I loved it just as i do all books by her. Jan is a fabulous author and to me her writing is like a drug u want more of. lol,

thesestories r fantastic, so if u havent grabed ur copy yet please do. U will be shocked, in awe and amazed all at the same time. i keep trying to figure out which is #1 but i cant because they are all plus 5 stars. Thank u Jan for this amazing box set. I did not expect this to be so good! Not mind-blowing, angsty, full of emotion story, but this is just a perfect book when you just want a romance with some spice, a hot billionaire rescuing a poor girl type of story. It's not all lovey-dovey, some parts were funny, the heroine's not annoying, the hero's an alpha. It's classic but not boring.
Now I'm off to Sam and Maddie's story, the hero's brother book :) Heart of the Billionaire:

I bought this series as a bundle on Amazon for almost nothing and I really wasn’t disappointed at all. I recommend you buy the bundle too, because the individual novellas are quite short and almost always end in a cliffhanger. I read this in one sitting and frankly didn’t notice when I jumped onto the next book in the series (but then again I was totally hooked).

The story is not exactly mind-blowing and full of intrigues, but the plot, the characters and last but not least the more-than-hot-and-steamy sexy scenes are absolutely enough to keep the reader fully interested (if not totally hooked) from front to back cover.

I also like the fact that despite the title, this is not all glam and glitz, and the characters are all very much down to earth. You will also find J.S. Scott’s characters very endearing, even if they are made out to be jerks in the beginning. Expect to fall in love with Kara’s selflessness and with Simon’s tender alpha side (yes believe, you can be a tender alpha male!!!)

The writing is in 3rd person with alternating POVs, which enables you to get a glimpse into both worlds and minds. The writing is extremely good, and despite the fact that many books with a cover and a cheesy title like this one hint at some cheap romance novel, J.S. Scott does some really qualitative storywriting.

I totally recommend you give this book and the whole series a go.

Loved it! Loved that Simon wasn't an arrogant cocky jerk. Just a really possessive alpha male ;) The relationship between Simon and Kara is really just so sweet. And somehow, the author managed to write some amazing steamy-hot sex scenes along the way! Whewwww! I wasn't expecting this series to be that great(I don't know why, the reviews were good... but it just looked a litte cheesey for me). But the first book was free on Amazon so I thought, what the heck.... I needed a light read after finishing CONVICTED. And what I found with this series was a really sweet love story between two people who found a way to be together depsite Simon's tragic past and Kara's poverty. Added bonus was I got the series for $2.99 on Amazon. If you're looking for something light, that has good quality characters, you'll really enjoy this! Warning though.... there's a bit of a cliffhanger with Kara's best friend Maddie and Simon's brother Sam, who are mentoined throughout this series. You'll have to read their story in another book, The Heart of the Billionaire. So yeah, I'm sucked in now... I HAVE to know what happened/happens with Maddie and Sam. Their story is more love/hate.... here I go!

Brilliant. This story has It all. Love that starts from a far, with Simon Hudson Billionaire son of Helen Hudson whom owns a restaurant where a girl called Kara Foster works. Kara has become an obsession for Simon. She has heard about him, but has yet to meet him. Simon on the other hand knows lots about Kara, he has obsessed over her for more than a year.

Simon doesn't do relationships & with the fact that Kara is a good friend to his mother he has held back. But the situation arises for him to step in & he does so in such a way that literally sweeps Kara off her feet.

Unconventional way of introducing yourself, but whatever works. Kara & Simon begin with a no expectations relationship that turns into a full blown, erotic, romantic & hot as hell love that blows the mind. With all the traditional alpha male control & insatiable sex to heat & melt a snowman. This book delivers a unique romance with all the excitement and passion for all of us that love this genre.

When we get the reasons why our characters are why they are & act how they do, our hearts break for them. Some very raw & graphic feelings are brought out & the emotions they inspire make this an awesome love story. Simon, you are a god, another on my mantel of sexy men.

Now for your brother Sam, hmmm.

Kara is down on her luck and having a bad day, until a knight in shining armour comes to her rescue. Simon Hudson has been obssessed with Kara for over a year, admiring from a distance. Simon is intelligent, hot, rich and a dominant male. When Kara collapses in the middle of the street he has no choice but to rescue her. He takes her in and takes care of her, offering her the opportunity to concentrate on her studies and he will take care of the rest for one night together. Except one night will never be enough for both of them but each have issues stopping them from committing. Kara feels very insecure in Simon's rich world, feeling that she will never fit in. She doesn't want anything to do with his money and does everything possible to give it back. Simon's dominant character is a cover for his insecurities which are both physical and emotional and run very deep. Can Kara strip these bare and gain his trust and his love? Whilst this series is broken in bite sized chunks, it is advisable to read them in one go. Watching Simon struggle with the concept of being in a relationship and trusting someone else is interesting to witness - having never been in a relationship before romance is an alien concept to him. Join Kara and Simon on their journey of self discovery.

First off... I didn't like that this claims to be a "complete collection" - leading the reader to think they are getting multiple full books. This is ONE book busted into 4(?) or 3 maybe? Whatever. Anyway, it's one book.

It's a good read. I liked the general story. I actually couldn't put it down.

A few issues I had:
1. Simon is a stalker and creeper and no one seems to care.
2. Kara has great potential to be a missing person with her over-trusting stalkers.
3. Kara seems on the dumb side. Independence is one thing, being dumb is another. I had a hard time seeing the 2 characters together. She seemed dumb and he was a genius. He was stalking her for her looks and I think that's about all that's there. She doesn't seem like someone he would want to keep. Not at his level of intelligence.
4. Did I mention the fact that this "collection" is ONE book? It was irritating.
5. The word "F*ck" is used A LOT. By a lot, I mean TONS.
6. For a woman who has been with only one guy, she sure jumped the next one fast upon meeting him. It probably should have taken longer.
7. I never felt like I was reading about a billionaire and a nursing student. I felt like it was high school.

**OW hits on Simon, wants to make an arrangement with him - prior to Kara, he paid women with gifts to sleep with him - and is all over him when he's alone. Kara, of course, happens to be right there to see/hear this. She leaves as OW pulls Simon's head toward her for a kiss. We NEVER get Simon's POV or thoughts about this. Kara NEVER asks him about it. We are told later via Sam, Simon's older brother who is a manwhore to the extreme (and I will NEVER read Sam's book because he cheated on his heroine when they were together in the past), that Simon would never be with that woman for reasons, plus, though Simon doesn't commit, when he is "with" someone he isn't with anyone else. This leads me to believe he stopped the OW, but confirmation would be nice, for me as a reader and for Kara. Because of this lack of closure on the situation, my enjoyment faded. Also dampening it was the constant, at least to me, references to Simon's previous arrangements. We get it...after telling us once.**

What girl doesn't want to be swept off her feet by a hot man? This series will take you for an unforgettable ride. Simon has watched and has been drawn to Kara for so long. Only to get the chance to be there when she needs him. Kara had no idea that Simon had been like a guardian angel for so long. But she pushes her body to far, with work, school and little time to even breath much less eat.
Simon rescues her from not only a roommate that gets her evicted and steals everything she own, he rescues her from her past and without knowing he has also rescued himself. This series will capture you from the first paragraph and then take you on a journey of two people who were meant to be together and didnt even realize how healing it would be.
If you like romance and erotica without being crass you will LOVE this series. You'll experience fear, angst, love, passion, anger and peace!!

This series was simply amazing.

Simon's is a man that makes me weak in the knee's. He is intense, caring, sexy, and dominating.

Kara, is my favorite type of heroine. She is strength, courage, beauty.

Both Kara & Simon had bad beginnings. Simon, rose above them, and, is now one of the wealthiest men in the world. Kara, well she had an exceptionally ugly beginning. While Simon watched her from afar, believing he would never have her, she went about just surviving life.

Simon would try to lavish Kara with all of the things she is missing out on in life, and, she would politely refuse them. Kara, didn't want Simon's money she wanted the man.

The love story captured me from the very first page.

Simon is definitely book boyfriend material!!!

I snatch up all of her new releases immediately (if not sooner!) and it's all because these two characters, and their story, were so wonderful. Simon is so wonderfully alpha male but in such a caring and sweet, but totally over the top, kind of way. I just love how he takes such good care of Kara. She is one lucky girl! I highly recommend this series. Afterwards, I guarantee you will be hooked on JS Scott's books!

J.S.Scott has crafted a captivating story in The Billionaire's Obsession series. The characters were likeable and the protagonist not too perfect while the hero (Simon) most certainly was! The chapters, and indeed the novels, flowed seamlessly which made for an easy read. There was a little repetition on some of the sex descriptive but I know only too well how tricky it is to come up with fresh names for the anatomy and its functions! It was addictive and I have already drifted straight into the follow on tale about Maddie and Simon's brother Sam. I would definitely read more from this author.
