From New York Times Bestselling Author, Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us, Star Wars: Blood Ties, Batman: Legends of The Dark Knight), and James Brouwer (Justice League Beyond), the award-winning adventures of a multiracial family of underwater explorers continues.
When an island is completely not hit by a tsunami, a new investigation begins for the daring aquanauts, the Nekton family. Danger, secrets, peril, ancient messages, shocking revelations, and the first word to rhyme with orange. The Nektons are back, along with Jeffrey the Fish, in an adventure every bit as mysterious as the deep blue sea.

I read the first volume of the series and then immediately picked up this volume. The series is really enjoyable and I only wish there was another volume for me to read. I guess, I'll just have to watch the shows now!
Utterly clever and hilariously brilliant! I never read the previous installment, heck, I didn't even know it existed - but I read this one and even though it pretty much dives into the deep end with little to no time spent explaining things, I loved every second of this 3-issue mini-series. Hands down, it is for me now a benchmark of what a fantastic all-ages friendly story can be and I look forward to more of the Nekton family's adventure in the future.
So sweet. Bickering siblings that love each other really, a truely wacky fish that fetches glow sticks and a great storyline. The search for atlantis is open for many storylines. The art is amazing and the use of blurring to create an illlusion of action is brilliant!
Big thanks to the guys for signing my copy at AllStar Comics
The sarcasm is still there and the dialogue is a great deal funnier this time around, so I'm having a ball reading this. The young boy's enthusiasm for spelunking is infectious. Not enough for me to explore a cave in real life, but enough to enjoy the story even more. I'm just a kid at heart.
Nereus has joined the Nekton family to investigate an island that was left completely unscathed by a tsunami.
This is one of my favorite episodes in the animated series. The story-telling is engaging with graphics to match the adventure. A great combination of excitement, discovery, suspense, and humor. The ending-epilogue sets the stage for amazing future travels.
The Vanishing Island, second in The Deep series, was even better than the first. I loved the sibling dynamic in this one. Also, the fact that my name is the same as the fish's is a plus. Especially since he's so adorable. An island that mysteriously changes coordinates after a tidal wave passes right through it without causing any damage? A massive sea cave on one side of the island that has never been seen before? Spelunking? All of these awesome things and more are in this book. The search for Atlantis continues!
another fantastic volume. I think I actually preferred this one over the original, which is saying a lot. More family friendly, fast paced, lighthearted, action adventures topped off with glorious art.
The Deep is not the place to go if your looking for anything deep and meaningful but it's about the most fun roller-coaster going. Once again my only complaint is that there isn't more!
