Debut novel by local Hampshire author. Up and coming Formula One racer Stacey James’ body double (Gemma) is murdered when standing in for her on the winners’ podium. Jason Hunter, her personal protection specialist, tries to keep her safe from another attack. Her stalker tries to intimidate her and is a threat to both of their lives. She is betrayed by someone close to her. Criminal elements are involved and closer to them both than they realise.

An impressive first novel/thriller. Told from multiple POV which made it interesting and with quite short chapters so was pacy and exciting – an absolute page turner. As it is listed as a Jason Hunter thriller, I assume this will be the first in a series. I will definitely look out for book 2.

I really enjoyed this book. I would be excited for a Jason Hunt collection. F1 and murder mysteries are two of my favourite things, and this book didn't disappoint.

I finally got around to reading this book on holiday, and it was amazing! The storyline was so engaging that I couldn't put it down. Natasha is a great author, and I'm excited to read her next book - although I'm not sure I can wait until my next holiday!

Jason Hunter the man you are

Well, where do I start (probably Pole Position!). Murder in the Fast Lane is a real breath of fresh air, face-paced and kept me guessing. I loved the short, sharp nature of the chapters, and even though I'd finish them quickly, I'd always be pining after just one more. I loved that Jason Hunter's perspective was seen through his own eyes, whereas everyone else had a narrator - very clever. That's a a real 'pick it of the shelf moment' for me.
The Book deftly balances a fast-paced plot with a love interest. Although, I can't help but think that Jason and Stacey might have worked out what was happening sooner had they have kept their hands off each other . . .
Plus, as the blurb stated: I often wondered whether Jason was out of his depth as it took him a while to notice what was in front of him.
Towards the end, the book really stepped up a gear and there was a nice twist that I hadn't seen coming. And that ending? Well, now I just need to know what happens next.
All in all, a very well plotted and edited book. And with the Formula One them, it really, well, forged a new formula.
I need the next one now.
