I am the world’s laziest man.

No…really. Not just a bit slack, really, truly, breathtakingly lazy.

Which is why it’s taken me so long to get off my big, lazy rear end and get myself properly on-line.

I’m the author of the HIVE series of books which I hope that some of the people who stumble across this might have read and enjoyed. Or read and hated…

I am fortunate enough to live with the two most beautiful women on earth. And yes of course I’m hoping they’ll read that and forgive me for any one of the incredibly stupid things I’ll do this month.

I have yet to hold down anything even vaguely approximating a proper job.

I did help make video games a while ago but that was not the best environment for someone as lazy as me.

3rd in the series so it fits in well, bit annoyed that Sam was a bit distant but that’s fine.

Having read the whole trilogy in three days that has to be testimony to how good these books actually are. A brilliant science fiction story that has some many lessons for younger readers.

A book that can be enjoyed by all ages. I am quite sad that my adventure with Sam is over.

In Redemption, Mark Walden delivers a breathtaking, high-stakes, and emotionally powerful finale to the acclaimed Earthfall trilogy. The battle for Earth reaches its zenith as Sam, now grappling with the immense Illuminate powers he has inherited, must return to a London overrun by the alien Voidborn. To have any hope of victory, he must awaken the sleeping Illuminate buried deep beneath the Earth, and confront a dark, terrible secret that could doom all of humanity.

Walden masterfully balances colossal, cinematic action with profound character development. Sam’s journey from reluctant survivor to a hero facing the ultimate sacrifice is handled with raw honesty and heart. The stakes have never been higher, the twists never more shocking, and the final confrontation is both thrilling and deeply moving. The trilogy’s themes of friendship, sacrifice, and redemption are brought to a perfect, satisfying climax.

A stellar, unputdownable conclusion that cements the Earthfall series as a modern sci-fi classic. Perfect for fans of alien invasions, superhero-scale action, and stories where the fate of the world rests on the choices of a few brave hearts.

Good book. Kept you absorbed till the end. It definitely kept me guessing plotwise through the book which I enjoyed. It was a good way to wrap up the trilogy.

I’m probably being a bit picky here but thought that there were a couple of threads left unresolved (or at least unexplained). [stop reading here if you don’t want spoilers] I would have liked to see some resolution with the Vore, also was Sam’s dad actually good or evil in the end? How were the sleepers awakened? The Primarch at the beginning of the book was described as looking forward to a good feed? Which didn’t really make sense in retrospect. These were a few of the bits left dangling (in my mind) that would have been nice to see resolved.
I always have a little bit of a dislike when a book tries to wrap itself up quickly by jumping ahead into the future for an epilogue … but I guess it could have lengthened the book considerably otherwise.

Indeed a thrilling conclusion to the series, even more superhero-esque than the first two. Makes me think of Marvel's Avengers: Endgame.

I originally picked up this series because I enjoyed HIVE so much. While Earthfall didn't have the same sticking power as HIVE, it was still a fun read and I liked the series.

Well. I hope this is worth it. I wanted Hive first but nooooo, so this better be a good read.
*Shakes fist threateningly*.

Edit:

So that was interesting. I both like and hate how the book ended, and the overall delivery of the story was entertaining. Also, question about a possible plot hole.

But I really enjoyed this book so I can't wait for Hive 9.

Even though the book had a well thought out ending, it disappointed me at several points. I feel that there wasn't any real culmination in the storyline and it was just cut short to reach the ending where "the good guys" win. All in all, it's a fast paced story that could have been better, but could have been worse as well. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of other works by the author.
