This has the potential to be a good series. While I liked this first installment, I think it read like more of a book 2 and I was hoping for something that would really hook me. The premise is very intriguing and I like the direction its going, so I will definitely continue reading when the next entry is released.
This is an interesting take on the zombie genre. I can't tell you what makes it different - you'll just have to read it. It's well edited, well written and left me wanting more. Can't ask for much more in a book. Good thing I already have the second book.
I felt the first third or so was a little dry and tough to get through, but after that, I loved it. I'm definitely looking forward to more books in the series.
I'm not a big fan of the zombie genre, but I could not put this episode down. It is the first in a series that tells the tale of a small group of survivors in New Brunswick, Canada. The author never loses sight of his characters, of their thoughts, their histories, their quirks, their smashed dreams. Although they don't always agree regarding method, they all do agree that keeping each other safe is of utmost priority.
