~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Pre Teens- One Star New Teens- One Star Early High School Teens- Two Stars Older High School Teens- Three Stars (and a half) My personal Rating- Three Stars (and a half) This was such a cute book! There was great faith content and I really liked the main character. Lark was awesome, just like her name! There was a bit too much kissing in my opinion, though, so that lowered the rating a bit.
I liked it, although I never got completely captivated by the story. I also didn't connect with the characters, even though I liked them. The romance seemed to happen quickly, as it does with most of the Heartsong novels. All in all, an okay read.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but I wound up not really enjoying it when I finished it. It felt very choppy, and there really wasn't much to the romance at all. The faith based parts felt very fake, as if it just was lip service to being a Christian novel. Lark was a slightly interesting character, but I could not connect to Everett at all. They fell in love entirely too quickly for my tastes. Just wasn't a good fit for me at all.
This was a pretty cute book. Very clean romance. I didn't ever feel like I completely understood the characters though. His personality changed so quickly from nerdy recluse to total interest in a free spirited artist. She was supposedly free spirited but she really held back in a lot of areas.
Although there were a few editing errors (roman is the French word for a novel, not romance, and diamonds are marquis not marquee), this was a delightful story. Who could resist a story of starched meets zany with a pet duck added to the mix? Heartwarming and heartfelt, Larkspur Dreams is a lovely romance.
This was such a cute, clean, romantic book. I loved how Lark was able to drag her new neighbor out of his self imposed shell. The ending seemed just a little rushed, but a great end. First in Ozark Wedding series. This was the large print version from the library so some of the reviews mentioned some glitches in the Heartsong version. I did not see these.
I was a bit disappointed. Although the setting is the beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas there was not much description of the area. Likewise the characters were not fleshed out well. Nerdy new neighbor meets artsy local notable and falls in love makes for a cute but predictable plot, however, Mr Nerd's personality shifts so quickly that he seemed a little scary to me.
However, it's clean, romantic, and the characters do turn to God for direction in their love life. That's a plus for me!
I really enjoyed this book...wish it would have been longer with some more detail..otherwised I loved it and the two main characters were great together..
