Trust and Wonder
This concise, accessible book is written out of the author's experience with integrating children under three into a Waldorf kindergarten in Norway. Perfect for a parent/child group study, or for schools considering how to integrate infants and toddlers in their program, it includes sections on the fourfold human being as a basis for Waldorf education; stages of child development in the first three years; the importance of imitation; the development of the foundational senses; creating a good daily routine; play and play materials; and much more.

A tender and practical little book (115 pages) the introduces the reader to applying Waldorf education principles to caring for infants and toddlers. The book is oriented toward daycare workers (daycares are called "kindergartens" in the book, as they are in Norway where the author is from), but parents can easily apply the principles at home, such as making a daily rhythm, providing simple toys, and giving the child chores to imitate. As a follow-up to this book I recommend Heaven on Earth: A Handbook for Parents of Young Children. That book goes into more practical detail about how to implement the Waldorf principles at home as a parenting style.
