An informative tome on the significance and usage of scarab imagery in ancient Egypt and surrounding areas. Includes a lot of quotes from the Egyptian Book of the Dead and is highly informed and I learned more about scarab symbolism than I ever expected to know.

✔️Published in 1894.
🖊 My review: Though a little on the dry reading side, this book is a compilation of a lecture in 1894 by Isaac Myer, L.L.B. concerning the ancient Egyptian views on the scarab beetle, its religious role, and its place in art. I enjoyed reading this, even without any illustrations. It is written intelligently and is a good source of information.
