He’s a violent gangster. My life's at rock-bottom.
It’s the perfect time to make a baby.

Here’s where I’m at: boyfriend cheated with my roommate, stole all my money, skipped town, and to top it off, I got fired from my job.

My life is a total wreck, which is why I go home with a knee-shakingly gorgeous, insanely rich stranger named Finn Crowley.

I’m into his bossy-and-controlling-alpha-jerk vibe, at least for one night.

But things get worse a few weeks later when I realize I’m pregnant.

And Finn leaves his arranged-fiancee so he can marry me instead.

Which I definitely did NOT ask him to do.

I don’t even want to be married to this guy, but it’s either say the vows or remain broke and alone.

I’ll put up with his possessive and demanding attitude for the sake of the baby.

At least until I find a way to escape.

Marriage of Sin is a standalone mafia romance in the Crowley Family series! It's steamy, banter-filled, and has a guaranteed happily-ever-after. Enjoy!!

I liked the tropes, and I liked the setting but something about Finn just bothered me throughout a lot of the book? He kept saying he didn't even like the FMC. I felt like it was a bit weird to have that occur multiple times and have us believe their love was genuine all of a sudden where he turns around and realizes WAIT NO, I do LOVE HER lol

Finn and Dara meet randomly at a bar after Dara's long-term boyfriend reveals he has been cheating on her with her roommate, he took all her money and basically stripped the apartment clean so they could move to Mexico and get married.

Finn and Dara have an ONS and it's all they promise each other since Finn reveals he is to be engaged the next day to some girl he never met nor cares for. His father and the crime family he is a part of requires him to do so in order to gain power politically.

Despite his engagement, though Finn still wants nothing to do with his ''fiancée'' and kept thinking about Dara weeks later so imagine his shock she shows up at his club and reveals to the world she is pregnant! We also find out he had not been with anyone since Dara since she was on his mind 24/7.

Finn seeing an opportunity to be free from the engagement, proposes to Dara and marries her against his families wishes causing a huge rift and fight with his father/mother and brothers.

A part of me liked how committed he was to Dara and how he truly wanted her but like I said in the beginning of my review, him saying a few times he does not even like her nor love her caused me to not care as much?

Thankfully he turns it all around at the end and chooses her over and over again. He makes no mistake about who needs to come first, and I appreciated that.

Also, for a short time I actually liked his former fiancée, she seemed to be nice? And wanted to help but at the end she turned out to be a manipulative bitch who didn't really understand who she was dealing with. Finn showed her who is the power and after he killed her dad for all his discretions made sure to remind her to never fuck with him again.

I liked Dara and she had a good head on her shoulders despite her struggles. Though I wish we had gotten a scene where Dara helped her parents come out of poverty and brought some good into their lives, but I did however appreciate the fact they didn't even want her money or encourage it? I expected them to demand stuff or play nice just to get things from Dara now that she was mega rich.

Also, KARMA to her ex-boyfriend who shows up and wants to pay her every dime back because the girl he fucked around with took all the money and left him in Mexico! lol that was a nice touch. Though a part of me wishes Finn had found the girl and given her a lesson on not to fuck with Dara too.

It's actually an average mafia romance book! Not sure, if i should call this a mafia book in the first place. Finn said that he loves his family and would also MARRY a stranger for them, but his family is literally the worst? I mean, the brothers are okayishh but the mom and dad? HELL NO. His father threatened him many times and was like you're lucky I'm not killing you!!!!! 👹👺 I mean-

I thought I'd love Dara after reading chapter 1, because she wasn't spineless and stood up for herself. I really don't have any problems with her but it's just, she's kind of whiny and she was like like I never had this growing up, it feels too much blah blah blah and you grew up like this, like pls? is it Finn's fault that he's rich? nvm, I was curious about the 'accidental pregnancy' trope because I've never read it. It was THAT bad, i mean definitely not WTH,WTF type. I do think, if it's executed properly, it'd be good!

I wanted to read this whole series because the brothers are actually interesting. Not so sure rn but I'm definitely intrigued by Liam because he's a psycho and literally had one scene and he's just A PSYCHO!!! 🤭

eh.

I didn’t really care for Dara. Apart from accidentally getting pregnant she really doesn’t add anything to the story. She had the personality of a boiled chicken. That is, bland and without flavor. That being said, I could not really feel much chemistry between her and Finn. Seems like she only stuck around because she’s lived a life of poverty and Finn was her only way out of it so she may as well help herself. I mean Finn basically did all the heavy lifting and all she did was literally spread her legs for him.

Finn (28) and Dara (24) met in a bar. She was there contemplating her life after finding out that her boyfriend and roommate have been sleeping together for 3 months behind her back and that they also stole all of her money. Her boss was also at the same bar and accosted her. Having fed up with all her boss sexist remarks, she lashed out at him that eventually led to getting fired from her job (but this happened in the succeeding chapter)

Finn saw her sitting alone at the bar but didn't come to her immediately, but when he saw her boss manhandling Dara he stepped up and pretended to be her boyfriend. They talked that night and the problems they each have. They pretended to be in a relationship for one night that led to their ONS.

Six weeks later, Dara found out she was pregnant and she went to the club owned by Finn to tell him. She didn't want anything from him aside from child support cuz at the moment she's jobless and homeless. She's been living with her best friend after she got fired from her job. Also, this time Finn is already engaged (business arrangement only, and got sealed the day after their ONS)

Finn didn't want the engagement but seeing as he always does whatever his family wants from him, he agreed to it. But when he found out that Dara was pregnant he called off the engagement and married Dara the next day. He told her that he wants to do it because of the child and that marrying her is one thing that he chose to do on his own and not some task imposed on him. This marriage is some sort of rebellion too against his family because of their controlling ways.

However, this rebellion backfired and his father was angry amongst other things. His impulsive act torpedoed a lot of plans that have been months in planning, making his family livid at him.

But Finn was stubborn and won't let them rule him. He's hell bent on keeping his marriage and protecting his wife and his unborn child. Dara is with him along the way. She supported him and even though it isn't the world she's used to, she learned how to adjust to be the wife that Finn needs.

It was actually sweet how they work together and when they finally stopped pretending that their marriage is only a business transaction. They were hot, supportive, loving, and caring with one another. They understood the situation they're currently in but it didn't stop them from staying together.

What I didn't like in the story is Finn's father. He was an asshole for putting them through the wringer. He told Finn that he'll be cut off from his family if he didn't fix the issue from his failed engagement. He also threatened that he'll kill Dara or he'll send her away with his grandchild. I mean I get that he's mad with what happened but that baby is still family how can he even say those things? He was determined to separate Finn and Dara even ordering Finn to divorce her so that he could find someone else for Finn to marry. I can't even stress enough that he's an asshole father that only cares about his image and family business.

Because of his father's threats, Finn had to send Dara away to protect her and their baby. While fixing the problems with his ex-fiancee's family. I didn't like this part because they got separated but at least I know that he'll come back to her. It took him weeks to settle everything down and once he was done he went to Dara to take her home with him.

Overall, this was a light mafia romance the mafia-ish part I guess came around 90% of the book. But I still liked it, and how Finn and Dara never gave up even though Finn's family is horrible. This was nice and I really enjoyed it.

Safety warnings:
- No cheating
- OW (Finn got engaged to this OW, but they're not interested in each other)
- OM (Dara's cheating ex came back to apologize to her at the end)
- A bit of violence

This book was everything I have hoped for. There was smut, tension and some good plot. The writing style is so good and fluent that it was easy to read.
Dara and Finn are likeable main characters and I enjoyed reading their story. The pregnancy trope was well done.
I would definitely recommend this book.

ONS ——> pregnancy
He got engaged the next day( they both new and it was arranged by his father)

They met again after 6 weeks

Every time someone says Crowley(his family name), i keep imagining crowley from supernatural 😭

I didnt like how he said it was a record for him that he didnt sleep with anyone for the 6 week separation after the ONS because he kept thinking about h. Manwhore much???

I hate when authors insert tiktok phrases in books,😭

I forgot it was a mafia romance until the 70- 80%,

No cheating
ow drama: he was engaged( h was jealous of his ex fiancé, even though it was arranged and both the H and the girl didn’t have feelings for each other), his girl best friend ( she is into women, ) but the h was jealous of their closeness, he slept around a lot before meeting h

Om dram: her cheating ex
No third act breakup ( they were apart for weeks but it to protect her from his family, he went looking for her when it was safe)

Finn Crowley does not want to be in an arranged marriage to unite families, Dara didn't want her now ex-boyfriend to cheat and steal from her, throw in getting fired and the two of them are both at a bar wanting to escape. Finn and Dara drown their sorrows and decide for one night where both of them can give into a night of passion together and escape everything else.

Six weeks later though Dara finds Finn and tells him she is pregnant. Finn knows he has a family obligation to wed but the only women he has been thinking about is Dara. He wants to do right by Dara and makes a decision that puts both of them in danger. Can he protect Dara and his baby?

I really enjoyed this one, unpredictable and had me guessing what would happen. Finn and Dara are wonderful. I was very surprised by how this story unfolded.

“I’d choose you,” he says, mouth coming toward mine. “I’d choose to have something that feels good for once in my life.”

This book is:
- Mafia Romance
- Marriage Of Convenience
- Surprise Pregnancy
- Forced Proximity

Dara is having a really bad day. She finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her with her friend and he's also emptied her bank account and they are both going to Mexico. She then runs into her boss who's with his friend and he ends up saying some rude things to her. Someone interviens and he pretends to be her boyfriend. Tells her boss to get lost but Dara knows shes going to possibly get fired.

After Dara and the man who is her pretend boyfriend who's called Finn end up at a bar having a drink she finds out he's having a bad day aswell because tomorrow he going to be engaged to someone he doesn't know. They talk for a while and Finn says they should get a room and forget about everything that's going on in their lives for just one night.

She agrees and they end up back in the hotel room and have the most amazing hot sexy night ever. They get up in the morning Finn says goodbye and leaves and Dara goes to work. But later says too much and walks out of her job.

Six weeks later shes staying with her best friend and shes in the bathroom throwing up. Yep you guessed it she finds out shes pregnant...

I enjoyed this book so much Finn and Dara are so good together. There's sexy moments, swoony parts, sweet parts and hand on the heart moments. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

Beautiful cover, decent story, it was a lighter mafia read with an ONS whoops baby and a quick marriage which resulted in some extreme consequences for the couple.
I'll be honest and say I did lose a little bit of interest entering into the second half of the book, though the characters were likeable, Finn was a little on the softer side for a mafia man. Dara was quite likeable, I do always cringe a little when the rich/poor trope comes into play and the poor one is just slack jawed over money and material things, going shopping or viewing the others luxury homes ect as a way to explain settings, makes me cringe. There were a couple of scenes of this, but it wasn't too over the top, thankfully.

Overall, this was my first read from this author, and it is well written, flows well, and easy reading. I would be happy to read this author again. Maybe if I can find a slightly darker book, the brother liam is described as a little unhinged I might start there 🧐

SURPRISING!
I originally went in to investigate the bizarre ,cheating ex scenario. But this was mainly the plot device for Finn's entrance. Sigh...Finn.😋 Besides being an utter sex God,he entertains quite the duality, as does the storyline. He is both, dark and light, soft and hard,Love and Hate, menace and savoir..the saga full of angst yet at times cute sweet and uplifting...well.. within their relationship. When Dara or his relationship is placed at risk? Finn becomes that devastating avenging angel fully converted to that alter ego to viciously decimate all that stands between he and his woman, child and future! Highly recommend!😘

Marriage of Sin is the first stand alone Mafia romance book in the Crowley Family series. This book is easy to read, it flows well, you forget your reading a mafia book, the MMC is good but the FMC is weak. You get some suspense, some insta-love, some steamy action with dirty talk, a surprise baby and a HEA. The book was just lacking and my star rating is a 3.

Finn Crowley youngest son and captain of his Irish family's criminal organization. Owns bars and restaurants and has a ONS with Dara Connell, knows he is going to be engaged in a arranged marriage contract the next day.

6 weeks later Data shows up at his bar to tell him she's pregnant. He marries her instead of the fiancee and now both sets of parents wants revenge.

Finn settles the score on one side and makes it known he will not be getting rid of his wife and child.

it started with a bad day

It started with a bad day, and ended with bliss. But the middle whew. That’s exactly how I expected a mafia arranged marriage that was paused then lines are drawn and revenge is needed and so much so much! I was excited to say that this book was never boring. Sassy and a little funny one liners, but there’s credit to making sure you don’t forget he is in fact the criminal world.

This was a sweet mafia romance. It reminded me a lot of Knocked Up by the Killer, except for a better heroine.

I liked that Finn fell first and was smitten by her but didn't want to admit it yet.

This was a mafia-lite story, great if you want to dip your toes in the crime family world.

I am pleasantly surprised by this book.

First I will say mafia romance books aren’t my favorite genre but this book was great. I liked Dara but I felt that Finn was a much more rounded character. He started very beta but gained his stride toward the end. Yes it could have been fleshed out more but it was an overall 3.5 stars.

Historien var hakkete og fløt bare ikke så kjempe bra, meeeen igjen, feriemodus som betyr at jeg kan også være noe sosial :)

A decent read.
Nicely written, very easy to read and follow, the storyline flowed well, the chemistry between our two mains was good, but unfortunately, this book was lacking of a breakthrough detail that could make it stand out from the others.

Btw, pregnancy was not the main plot here, that ngl, I forgot she was pregnant for a minute there, until the ending lol.

The descriptive statements used made little to no sense. A sex scene talking about a male’s body, but it said a women’s anatomy instead. I couldn’t even picture what she was trying to describe it was done so poorly. The descriptive phrases to describe the looks that the MMC gave made no sense in the situation that it was used. Weak plot that was hardly developed. Cute idea that was executed poorly. Just random events thrown together to connect all the sex scenes. Next to no character development. By the end of the book it felt like nothing actually happened that was note worthy.

ugh

It was ok low steam. Low angst. Subtle plot. I’m sorry to say it was just boring. And for a mafia story this guy was walked all over. You can see it as doing the right thing or being sweet but from a mafia point I see it as a pushover. This is not a OTT or a anti hero. This is just cute and predictable. Some will love this maybe

MARRIAGE OF SIN is the first instalment in BB Hamels contemporary, adult CROWLEY FAMILY erotic, Irish Crime family, romance series. This is businessman Finn Crowley and Dara Connell’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Finn and Dara) MARRIAGE OF SIN follows in the wake of a one-night stand between our leading couple. In an effort to secure a controversial government vote, Finn Crowley is forced to marry a member of a powerful family but Finn wants nothing to do with a marriage of convenience, a marriage that would be in name only. A woman in distress finds Finn claiming to be her boyfriend, a claim that will push our couple together, if only for one night. Enter Dara Connell, a young woman who has found herself without a job, soon to be homeless, and eventually pregnant with Finn Crowley’s child. Seeing an opportunity towards another direction, Finn proposes marriage to our story line heroine, a marriage that is about to threaten the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Finn and Dara, and the potential fall-out as Finn must take control to protect his new wife and child, a control that results in a show of power between Finn, his father, and the man who arranged the marriage between Finn and Robin McLaren.

The relationship between Finn and Dara begins as a one-night stand in which Finn all but ‘rescues’ our heroine from her aggressive boss. Six weeks will pass wherein Dara will discover she is pregnant, and with the help of her best friend Kathryn, goes in search of our story line hero. Dara does not want to be forced into a marriage for the sake of the child but our heroine is homeless and jobless, with no other prospects in sight. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

We are introduced to Finn’s business partner and best friend Genna; his mother Molly, father, and his brothers Carson, Nolan, and Liam; Dara’s ex-fiance Lucas; her best friend Kathryn; Irish Mafia soldier Shane, and Finn’s intended and manipulative fiancée Robin McLaren, and her powerful father Clive.

MARRIAGE OF SIN is a story of power and control, influence and authority, betrayal and vengeance, threats and manipulation, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing, twisted and edgy; the romance is emotional; the characters are desperate, determined and spirited.

I did like it. Another rather quick read with a marriage of convenience & pregnancy trope. The latter trope can kind of be iffy in a sense that the men act too controlling and don’t care for the mother of their childs well-being. The two Mc’s meet at a. Bar and decide to have a one night stand to help them forget about their crumbling lives. I don’t really know if the MC and MMC really had any chemistry. Their connection felt rather forced as they caught feelings because she was pregnant and he wanted to take care of her, so they just decided “hey we’re living together might as well give this a shot” . Though they definitely had cute moments that somewhat showcased a true connection and love between the two MC’s, their chemistry felt kinda lackluster. I’m not a huge fan of slow burns but I don’t really love insta love either, kinda a safe place in between and this was kinda “insta-lovey”. I will say I think finn did grow to care for Dara, especially he was willing to give his Familial status, and most of his wealth up for Dara and their upcoming child which not only spoke volumes on his character, but showed how he was starting to feel something real for Dara. I like a man that owns up to his mistakes and takes accountability. The FMC dude Kinda get annoying, I understood she was overwhelmed with all the wealth and being intimidated by her baby daddy's family/reputation but at the same time this guy is telling her multiple times that he will protect her and her child and provide for them and she just doesn't wanna believe it. I get her boyfriend of many years cheated on her and left her with nothing but at the same time give him some trust. She also was a little bit naïve to the fact that Finn was in the Irish mafia which he told her, and once he did or said things that actually showed his mobster side, she act rather dumbfounded. Due to him being in the mafia and the status that his family had if Dara wouldn’t have gotten pregnant, I don’t believe that even if Finn found her enthralling anything further than their rendezvous would have happened . The spice was pretty good & didn’t really take over the plot which was good, but it wass’t anything too special . I can also say the time jumps irrirated me, time would jump a couple months or a year with no explanation, and no warning. From one page to the next it’d be a new chapter boom . This wasn’t a terrible read, but definitely nothing to write home about.

It's beautifully written with well developed characters and twisty storyline that captures your attention and keeps you hooked and invested with it's twists and turns, suspense and mystery. It's fast paced, engrossing, gripping and riveting. An addicting, and unputdownable read that will keep you up way pass your bedtime. This is Dara and Finn story. Dara Connell just got her life blown to bits when she found out that her boyfriend had been cheating on her with her roommate and to add insult to injury he stole all of her money then skipped town, and top of it she got fired from her job.
