Comfort vs Nutrition

I would have given more stars if the recipes didn't rely on processed canned soups or prepackaged prepared seasonings. They are lower in nutrition value and higher in sodium and artificial ingredients many people can't eat.

Good recipes but nothing that I haven't seen before. If you have just started using a crock pot it would be a good book to start with.

A good first recipe book if you have just started using a slow cooker but nothing new or exciting. Some of the recipes seem a little bland to me.

A fun and easy resource.

This recipe book doesn't have the cleaner versions of the food choices that I would prefer, but there are some good ideas that can be found inside. I think it shouldn't be too hard to sub a homemade sauce or soup for some of the canned soup ingredients.

Tasty if a bit repetitive

Made nine different recipes from five categories. Timing is good, tastes are great, and while it suffers from a bit of repetition, a good overall cookbook.

This ebook was available for free, but it's not my style of cooking. Most recipes call for highly processed convenience food, like onion soup mix, taco seasoning, canned cream of mushroom soup, Miracle Whip, or lots of ketchup. And many main dishes have unnecessary or excessive amounts of sugar: Chili (3 recipes), several beef stews, Hearty Dinner (a hamburger-canned bean casserole), "Hungarian" Goulash, "Oriental" Chicken, and much more. I prefer healthier recipes.

New and exciting

Recipes in this book are new and tasty. Not the usual stews and soups of yester-years. Easily put together, no unusual ingredients to find and good enough for company without the fuss.
