In the final installment in the Parakeet Princess trilogy, we find Heather MacLean midway through her 3rd year of university. Despite the frenzy of her high school days, she hasn't had a date in seven months. With nothing new in her love life, she starts to fall back into old habits -- and old insecurities. Her first love, Ben Jones, is back after two years in Switzerland. Maybe there’s still a chance he can make Heather happy for life. And then there's the more dangerous prospect of the looming return of Heather's favourite vampire. Being on her own would probably be easier if she didn't have to watch Tannis, her best friend, dating Lars Hansen. He’s a man who seems eerily perfect – or, at least, perfect for Heather. Set in a large LDS singles' ward in the mid-1990s, this is a clean, uplifting story about the clumsy, convoluted, crowded road to true love.

OK, I am officially depressed. That had to be the most empty ending ever! I was really getting into this book, emotionally invested, ready to enjoy a nice romantic finale...and BAM.. Nothing! I was overlooking the confusing paragraphs, I really felt lost sometimes. I really loved the intense self-comtemptive thoughts, and the emotional response the author brought out in me, and what the main character felt. She really had no self esteem, I could relate. But the ending just was lacking. I couldn't believe she didn't finish the story. Didn't completly explain his actions when breaking up with her. Didn't alleviate her bleeding, broken heart and make it all better. He never said he thought she was beautiful. I'm really sad that I invested so much emotion into this. I'm a bit angry about it. Reconcile it already!!! No closure, no peace, no apologizing. She's satisified with a guy who totally rejected her and dumped her and now just jumps into his arms? WOW! Even if the author wrote another one in this series, I would not dare go there again. Sorry to be so harsh, but this was a very frustrating ending to what had the potential to be great. I loved the story line. It felt real and true. I just can't believe the ending. I say, clean up the ending and some editing issues, and re-publish this. It really has emotion, and could get much higher ratings.
This charming conclusion to the series was really funny and enjoyable. The editing was much improved over the second book, and I really loved the new characters. My only criticism is that I would have loved more! The story frequently skips months as it dashes through an entire year, and I kept thinking, Wait! I want to read about that!
I'm the author of this book so, of course, I love it. The story is fiction but some of it -- including the happy ending -- was inspired by real life. I hope everyone enjoys it.
