All In: Strip Poker Done Right

Rate this book
Play strip poker? Ben never thought he would. Not with his wife, Amy, and especially not with their asshole friend, Scott. Lawyers all three, they were more likely to strip their opponents of pride, not clothing.

Not that Ben wasn't intrigued--especially in the company of two attractive couples with a history of flirtation. He'd love to see either woman naked; he just wasn't sure how he felt about the guys ogling his wife. But when the wine begins to flow, inhibitions loosen, and clothes start coming off, he discovers a part of himself that's turned on by the attention Amy commands.

Soon, the three couples are caught in the throes of high-stakes poker. Secrets come out, things get wild, and Ben discovers a side of his wife he never knew existed.

Three couples spontaneously decide to play strip poker. Shenanigans ensue.

At 98 pages, this is long for what would ordinarily constitute a "stroke story". I enjoy Kenny's writing, and he nicely captures the narrator's doubts and anticipation, but the story suffered a little for me because I didn't like Ben, and this story is all about him. We get his take on what all six people are doing but minimal feedback on their feelings. This author usually gives more insight into other characters' mindsets. The whole book covering one night may afford less opportunity for debriefing between Ben and his wife Amy, in whose experiences I was far more invested.

The poker played here is of the Texas Hold-Em variety. I have an elementary grasp of vanilla poker - having never played, strip or otherwise - and I found the author's explanation of the rules sufficient to follow the proceedings.

If you enjoy stories about committed couples cutting loose and breaking boundaries to explore fantasies, then this is an enjoyable read.

Closing with a quote from the author's afterword/acknowledgements...

"special thanks to Matt Damon, John Dahl, Norman Chad, and Chris Moneymaker (bet you guys never thought you’d be thanked at the end of erotica)."

This playful novella from the dependably entertaining Kenny Wright is just pure unadulterated good fun. The title gives you the gist of what kind of exhibitionist/ voyeuristic thrills you're in for, but this is a popular suburbanite fantasy scenario done really well. The pace is good and the suspense builds well as the nerves are gradually subdued and the inhibitions cast aside.

The six participating characters are suitably hot, but it's their great chemistry that keeps the pages flicking on by as the cards are played and established couples face up to their boundaries before duly crossing them with breathtaking abandon. At the heart of it all is a sweetly resolved conflict between three long-standing friends, where a little misconstrued history brews simmering jealousy, piling on the sexual tension until it breaks in an exhilarating and satisfying crescendo.

You’ll Never See Poker The Same Again

The hottest night of poker you couldn’t even imagine.

Ben and Amy, married for just a few years, invite two other couples, all friends, over for a night of card playing. After some teasing and challenging of the wives the games morphed into strip poker. Although reluctant at first Amy succumbs to the tease and eventually is “all in”.

For the next couple of hours it’s all about revealing hot bodies and upping the “ante” to some sexy touching in front of all. Eventually there are no clothes left to take off and the bets escalate to things married couples just shouldn’t be doing with the others spouses.

Kenny does a masterful job of choreographing a version of Texas Holdem probably never played before. I was spellbound following the cards and waiting for the flop. Eagerly awaiting the next bodily reveal.

I’ve read many of Mr. Wright’s books and I have to say I think this one has the hottest sex scenes he’s ever written. They are vividly detailed, tittalating and thoroughly arousing. Yet they are actually believable and never approach porn level.

I especially loved that Kenny convinced us that Ben and Amy genuinely loved each other. Throughout their dalliances they constantly checked on each other to make sure they were both ok. There was no cuckolding or cheating of any kind.

Do yourself a favor, hone your poker skills and join the game. I promise you will go “all in”.

Well I certainly learned a lot about poker and some other things as well!, I sometimes have friends round for card games, I might get them to read this book before they "cum" next time, I feel a slap from the missus coming up.
Enjoyable read with the usual Mr Wright ending, if you've read his books before then you'll know what I mean! He's defo up there with the best of the wife sharing authors

An interesting story, well written by Kenny Wright.

This book is far from my favourite from Kenny Wright. Kenny usually writes great characters and couples. Through this story, much was revealed between the three couples involved. However, I didn’t feel there was much character or couple development.

From my perspective, the principal couple connection, other than a few reveals, was one or the other asking if the other was ok, with the recurring answer of yes; for these two nothing in the end was off limit.

This story is written from the husband’s perspective. There are glimpses and insights into to his character. However, his insecurity at every turn, coupled with a “yes” or “go ahead” for me became annoying.

Like every strip poker game, it’s fun as the participants lose articles of clothing and their inhibitions. And it’s not simply strip poker so there are some interesting “truths” that come out. However, for me the story devolved into a F**k Fest. I felt the story could have been a lot more interesting if the couples discussed their situation, their feelings and their desires.

I’m looking forward the Kenny Wright’s next new book.

Well, in a word, wow! I rarely read erotica but something, probably the synopsis and then the sample, got me. In the end it's fairly typical but the trip getting to the end was remarkable. The author builds suspense with just sexy tidbits thrown in until past half-way. I'm a writer and wondered how he managed to create so much "who's gonna do what to whom?" heart pounding suspense in it. I've actually re-read parts and found it's not hit and miss, a few sentences you can pull out. Starts with the first page and builds from there. Kenny Wright should write a suspenseful action/adventure or mystery that has this same intensity. I'd certainly buy it. If you like erotica that's NOT terribly kinky, this is it.

If I could give this book 6 stars I would.
The 6 characters are all well defined and the tensions within the group are well described.
As each hand is played the pressure and tension builds up and is maintained to the very end. the sex scenes are well described.
A must read.

A group of beautiful people have too much to drink at a dinner party and then start playing strip poker. Naturally, this develops into an orgy.

It’s an enjoyable read; the prose flows well, the characters are engaging and the plot develops nicely, if a bit inevitably. This book didn’t engender the tension that I felt whilst reading his other work and this is perhaps because it’s focussed around a poker game. I don’t pay poker so some of the nuances didn’t quite work for me. There was too much attention on whether the flip hand would reveal the jack that the protagonist needed to get a straight flush, or something like this, and not enough description of the emotional intensity that the protagonist’s wife felt when she was getting rogered by her college rival.

The story stalls a little in the middle but picks up at the end and the final scenes of group love are exciting and well portrayed and make you glad you read it through.

Anyone fancy a game of poker?

Wonderfully scripted and erotic read. Equal benefits with some natural doubts and jealousy.
But I believe a very realistic scenario enjoyed and suffered by swingers.
I don't know from experience, but considering my fantasy kinks, I really enjoyed this read.
Thanks Kenny.
Am putting you back on my "Following" list. Will just study the book descriptions more closely to avoid accidently reading submissive voyeur cuckold and back door stuff.

It's just that good

Not really planned, a game of strip poker breaks out. So does love, truth, and an adventure into uninhibited sex. Not only is this book a fun read, but it made me want to be there. No hearts were broken or anyone abused. Enjoy!

basically was a story about three couples that meet up play strip poker.and end up in a mass orgy...lots of sex in last third but...that's what it was, card game then orgy….Kenny has done a lot of books better than this one.

The first two thirds are masterful. We have Ben and Amy, a married couple, holding a party. There's another married couple, Scott and Anise, and a friend, Heather, with her current boy toy lover, Trey. As things more toward a game of strip poker, Ben and Amy come off as a married couple who've lived in a symbiosis but who have some ruts they've driven into, the same as any married couple. Of course, these ruts have to do with sex, since this is erotica, not Ingmar Bergman. The other couples are well sketched, but more two dimensional than Ben and Amy.

As the nature of the game changes, the tension builds. There's a lot of suspense for an erotic story since we don't quite know how things will turn out while we wait for the sex to start. There's a layering of personal problems and some complex relationships. I was wondering if it would be one of those stories in which the psychology stops when the sex starts.

At first, the answer is no. The first sexual activities are made hot by the nature of the characters. But then, like in "Our Three Threesomes," which I had read previously, it goes over the top and is more about permutations than character. The story loses its energy, and I finished reading it several days later.

Why only four stars when I loved so much of it?

Mostly because it goes on too long.

But also because Scott, the antagonist that drives the energy of the story, is so much an asshole that he becomes a one note character. There's not enough (until the very end) to convince us anyone would sleep with him. Also he and his wife don't interact in a way, especially during the sex, that makes them feel like a married couple.

I'm also anxious that in the two stories I've read, Kenny Wright includes one black character in each to insure we have one character with a giant dick. This makes me uncomfortable. Fortunately, Trey from this story and Jordan from "Our Three Threesome" behave in different ways before the sex starts.
