Beastmen of Ator #1

Alien Abduction

Rate this book
Reverse harem/multiple hero When Cara is taken by the shape-shifting beast men warriors of Ator, she gets hands on training in triad mating traditions. The Furians-Dagon, Gilen, and Joar had lost all hope of a future with the destruction of their home world until they stumble across an Earth woman they rescue from their enemy. Before she can be claimed by a rival beast clan, they decide to claim her for their own and set about initiating the triad mating ritual. 11/8/13 Long Category Word 53,492 Sci-Fi/Futuristic/Fantasy Romance Spicy/Erotic--Multiple heroes (three), captive situation/forced seduction, mild bondage/forced seduction; ménage; alien mating practices Author Kaitlyn O’Connor was first published by Harlequin Enterprises in 1994 under the pen name of Madris Dupree after nearly a decade of ‘apprenticeship’ --struggling to learn the business, the marketing, and the writing skills necessary for a career in commercial fiction. That ‘first’ published book, a historical, (which was actually her fourth attempt at a marketable piece of fiction) was successful, however, selling nearly 80,000 copies in the U.S., Switzerland, France, and the U.K. She writes various genres (or sub-genres since she always writes romance!) under different pen names. She has written science fiction/futuristic/fantasy under several—Kaitlyn O’Connor, in honor of her Scottish grandmother, Lyssa Hart, and Angelique Anjou (for the French ancestry), all combined here now under the single pen name Kaitlyn O’Connor. I wanted more! I bought this ebook as soon I saw that it was available, after checking every month for the last several months. It's a little over 100 pages, which was a disappointment but still I thought, "It's a new Kaitlyn O'Connor!" I liked this book but didn't love it. The epilogue was a little long, maybe it could have just been a final chapter of the book. The romance, I don't know. Usually with this author's books the guys are clueless about how to romance a woman which I find endearing and you would think that since their world changed right when they were showing interest in the opposite sex they would be lumped into that clueless group. But no, they're grabby and they wink which is just strange to me. I dislike winkers in my real life so it's probably just my prejudice speaking. I'm hoping that the next book will be a lot better. I'm not giving up! 3-1/2 stars.

To the Furians, counting coup was merely a rite of passage—a coming of age game to perfect their skills as warriors. When the Basinini retaliated by destroying their civilization, however, they aroused the fighting blood of the Furians and discovered why they were referred to as Beastmen. They couldn’t run far enough or fast enough to elude the survivors bent on avenging those they’d lost.

Cara, abducted for experimentation by the Basinini, isn’t the least bit sympathetic to their plight when the Furians descend upon them. She’s more than a little worried about what their plans are for the abductees, though, especially herself. She certainly doesn’t expect to find herself a prize of the victors.

Length: Full Novel
Genre: Sci-Fi/Futuristic/Fantasy Romance
Rating: Erotic

Believe it or not: this book has been finally released!
Here are some links where you can buy it: NCP Shop which will lead you to: new NCP Shop
The publisher might will change these links eventually... just to keep sales figures manageable (low) and life interesting...

Now, for the book: Might have been a good book if the author had finished it. The plot has big gaps (the size of Texas), inconsistencies crop up en masse and the editor needs new glasses.
NCP's rating had me in stiches : "Spicy/Erotic--Multiple heroes (three), captive situation/forced seduction, mild bondage/forced seduction; ménage; alien mating practices." You're doomed to be disappointed on all accounts...

I really liked Kaitlyn O'Connor's books so far and I'm not giving up on her completely (yet) but this book is somewhat less than perfect.

Decent but like many of KO'Cs books it was under developed. There was nothing new and different here. The aliens seemed a bit like assholes rather than clueless guys. Clueless guys being a staple of this author's work. The relationship seemed rushed. So did the situation on the planet when all the other guys and their human gals showed up. I felt a bit whiplashy there at the end. Plus it ended abruptly. Also usually normal for this author. I'll keep reading her though cuz there just aren't that many games in town when it comes to this genre.

I'm a little disappointed by this book.
I was so excited when I bought it and now i finished it i'm quite disturbed.
Nothing is really new compared to other books of this author : 3 or 4 guys taking a mate and they are clueless of what she wants or needs and same for the heroin.
It's the same end too HEA and baby.

so only 3 stars

Wtf was this? I couldn't stand Cara for most of the book, and then all of a sudden, out of absolutely nowhere, she makes a complete 180 and falls in love with her men for no reason whatsoever? That was abrupt even for KO'C's usual...

Not sure what happened considering some of the really good alien romance this author used to write this book was terrible. Poorly written, had a good premise but execution was bad

Awesome story

This was an awesome story. Okay....so far all of the stories from this author are totally awesome. I just wish that her endings weren't so final, like there isn't a possibility of another book...I wish she would leave an opening for another character or something. But I can't complain. Her stories are so full of imagination and realistic comparisons. It is almost a shame that most of her books end without the hope of another story developing off of it. I guess I'm just greedy for more of her books.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn, why haven't you wrote anymore books about the beastmen ? I mean you have a great story that could be made into a series and the beastmen of Ator was a wonderful book.I for one would love to know what happened too the other beastmen what happened when they were called to arms and they left.I am sure you could manage too write a few more books to this one. Think about it,this makes the third time I have read this book,I have read all the books you have wrote...all but the short stories..you my dear lady are running out of books to read

Meh. A lot like other books Ms. O'Connor writes but not as enjoyable to me. About 80% is just internal self-dialogue and there is very little action. The world-building is nice and I liked the three guys who rescue Cara from evil aliens and eventually decide to take her as a mate. If there are more from this series, I will read them. Just hope there is more plot/action and less thinking. Good for filler.

Great read! Always love how she throws in humor when you least expect it but it fits. Space travel, alien buttkicking, etc. Enjoy!
