"Gravity" is the fourth book in the SODIUM series (comprised of novellas Gravity a, Gravity b and Gravity c). As Earth scrambles to build its defenses a massive fleet approaches from Epsilon Eridani. We must fight and we must win to survive. The SODIUM series hits high gear as the massive battle for Earth gets underway. Do we have what it takes or will Man's short history come to an abrupt end? Find out as the thrilling SODIUM series continues!
I came to this planet sixty some odd years ago. After exiting my mother's portal, the doctor slapped me around until I started breathing the oxygen. I'll admit, at the time, I had no idea what I was doing or where I was. Being an infant Human, I was completely reliant on the responsible actions of others. It was a time that I have largely forgotten.
I reside in Central Florida with the wife and children. After thirty years in engineering, my time is now spent chronicling the adventures of fictitious heroes. They are off-world, fighting the good fight. For me? I'm stuck here on this planet in this feeble existence that we Humans are all forced to endure.
So, I ask you this... do you wish to escape the bonds of this surly planet we call Earth? Are you looking for a bit more adventure than what the grocery store has to offer? Do you worry about being enslaved by alien androids or six-eyed alien goats with lasers? Pew, pew, pew!
Yeah, that's what I thought. Asking yourself those questions and getting back an answer is the first hurdle to cross in the race to get off this world. Sounds like you are ready to venture out, to put this place behind you.
So crack open one of my books. Take to the heavens and let me shout this out to those who remain: "Watch out universe! Another Human is on the loose!"

It has been a while since I read the first three Sodium books but so far as I can recall this is the first to end in a cliff-hanger. I believe it is also the first to carry the main character over to the next volume. The threat to the survival of humanity continues and intensifies. The only reason I suspected that Earth and humanity would survive is that I knew there was another volume. The reader actually meets the aliens in this volume and learns what had long been implied. The aliens have exhausted the sodium on the planet from which the attacks are coming. The series continues to be well written, exciting and interesting.
Very good book kept me waiting to find out what was next. In previous book I thought the storyteller was male and no name was mentioned. It turns out it is fwmale though still nameless. Good lot although the end is a bit of a downer. That could have been improved. I await next story in series to discover how Earth fairs as well as the storyteller.
I didn't care for all of the details on what thingy was attached to what doohickey and the meter numbers it created when running. I speed-read through the book just to finish it.
This story is a bit more up and down with lots of action to slower character developments throughout still a bit more of a filler in the larger series but a necessary one i believe.
I have enjoyed this series so much that I am reading it for the second time. It is a great adventure with wonderful characters. You want some fun? Read Sodium!
Disclaimer - I'm not one for long fight or chase scenes in books or movies. I'm not saying I don't like them. I just don't care for long ones... I prefer more story progress.
With that said, I think this is my least favorite of the Sodium series so far. I did like it, but it seemed to get a little repetitive and elongated on the fighting.
