However the secondhand embarrassment is real when reading this volume because these two are SO incredibly awkward! LOL!!
I squealed SO much when reading though and my heart felt like it could just fly away "like a butterfly" because of all the cuteness!
Suiren and Kawasumi really are taking BIG steps in their romantic story even if they still don't talk a lot. HOWEVER!
I was SO proud of Suiren and how she found a way to start conversations with Kawasumi! I was unsure of what she was doing when she showed her friends a certain item, but once it was shown as to why she was using it, I thought it was extremely creative!
I'm even proud of Kawasumi too! The way he told his best friend that he doesn't want help and wants to do things on his own even if he's not good when it comes to romance. You go Kawasumi!
THOUGH THE END!!!
Suiren was SO brave and I was just like WHAT ARE YOU DOING KAWASUMI?!?! GAH!!
He better be just as honest with her as she was with him because for her to voice the question that's been in her heart and mind for at least half the volume, she deserves a spoken answer even if both of them feel embarrassed. I mean, I guess technically he DID give her an honest reply, but I'm like PLEASE KEEP TALKING! LOL!
On a different note, I really like the dual perspectives of seeing things from Suiren and Kawasumi's eyes! It gives a greater picture and understanding of how each of them is feeling, which I think is super important with how little the two talk.
Definitely excited for the next volume as I love this series so so so much!
It is really cute. Only things that frustrate me is the awkwardness and how the female lead is depicted as this super cute, unattainable girl. Everywhere she goes all the guys just go on about how cute she is. Don't really see the necessity of that. The characters are really sweet though. I really like the side characters.
The two leads are adorable as hell. And this is a very quiet read - easy on the brain, mostly pictures and a little dialogue. There is so little dialogue, that I sometimes questioned what was happening and even wondered if I should drop this title. Yeah, it's cute, but it's like middle grade cute, not high school. Sakura and Saoryan have a better relationship...but I get that it's different and this is supposed to be two shy people navigating first love. It just...drags on a bit too much in spots. Lots of eyes and lots of blushing. Overall, I like the characters and I understand the intent behind the "plot", so I'm sticking with it even though I wish the writer would give the readers a little more context and something to, well, read. Give us more background, more dual perspectives (that is a plus here), or context through the friends.

Konnichiwa to all, readers 🌸
Today I bring you the review of the fourth volume of suu Morishita's Daily Butterfly shôjo manga, a love story that eats like cotton candy. With that said, let's get started:
🦋This volume resumes the pending events of its predecessor with Kawasumi accompanying Suiren back home.
This fact is important, since both walk towards a point of no return when the karateka is forced to abandon his formalities in speech, Suiren taking the initiative in conversations in his attempt to attract his lover.
🦋In the central chapters of the work we can see how Ryōsuke finally brings out the colors of Kawasumi, revealing to us that he wants to conquer Suiren by his means and showing us an evolution in the martial artist.
As a key element, both in the topics of conversation that Suiren writes down to discuss during the walks and in the development of the plot, is the cultural festival of the institute, a regular event in Japan.
🦋 The last third of the chapters (not counting the extra comic) focuses on preparing for the holiday and how the future protagonist couple enjoys it.
Although it is a cliché to have gathered them in a house of terror, the climax of the romantic tension, of indecision to express themselves, explodes when Kawasumi takes Suiren by the wrist (she did it by the hand at the summer festival) and she ends up confessing that she is in love with him.
In response, he reciprocates but appears to be confused.
🌸 Conclusion: This volume culminates with twenty-six chapters of building a romance between two people unable to deal with the opposite gender.
However, one must not overlook Suiren's desire to stop being seen as an "unreachable flower" to be free as a butterfly.

Well we have some small progress here with walking home from school and Suiren asking to attend the festival together and even about Kawasumi's own feelings. Kawasumi still seems very self conscious about the rest of the school's opinions and if he has any right to be with Suiren even if it is her asking. He's still kind to her though, so it's a mixed bag of confusion. We finally see where the bear and heart masks came from too, which is a very strange show. They're both attached to those masks though, which is it's own level of amusement. Kawasumi even outright turns down a child's request for his bear mask, which seems like something he wouldn't normally care about unless it meant something to him.

They're walking home together and they're both super shy so there's a lot of pining but not a lot of talking. But they're making progress. Suiren even got a little notebook to write down some talking points.
Then... the festival and the haunted house and there's a confession...
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this series, because, it's not bad. It's just super fluffy. Like a super plush towel that feels good, but doesn't dry you off like it should. I'm hoping that it'll pick up a little with some drama from the new character.
4.5 Stars This was so fun and brilliant with Kawasumi walking Surien home every Wednesday. The way they are starting to talk to each other was brilliant, and how Surien is going through her character growth is brilliant. The promise to go through the cultural festival is lovely and fun. The way all their friends help them so much is just amazing and enjoyable. The confession in the end is so wonderful and brilliant. The art is brilliant and the story is so fun, it really goes well with the art. This was so worth the read and so lovely of a read.

I actually started loving this manga because I liked how quiet Kawasumi and Suiren are, hwo much slow their relationship is growing between them, and how amazing the moment when one of them make a movement is.
Even though there was more progression in the communication department between Suiren and Kawasumi, I think I’m going to drop this series. 🫢 I’m just not wowed with it as much as some other series I’m reading.
It nice to see that suiren that she can found a way to start conversation with kawasumi also so proud of them taking big step in their romantic story even they still don't talk a lot. Cart wait to read next volume
Incremental progress…and a sudden leap ahead! These two are painfully slow and full of self doubt. I mean….why on earth would you walk home together if you’re not friends? How do they not have any inkling the other likes them?
Smirking Bear…wow 😆 I did not expect him to be like that.

Had to wait forever to loan this from my local library so lowkey, I forgot almost everything that happened in the first three books but it's still really cute and I am slowly remembering what happened previously lol!
It is nice to see more speaking between these two main characters. They are still moving slower than you'd think possible, but it is good to see their growth. Kinda wondering about his best friend and who he has an interest in.
Yo pensé que Kawasumi y Suiren iban a romper, cuando ella dijo que sabía que todo terminaría. Ya estaba a punto de llorar, felizmente no sucedió. Bonita historia
