There was once a time in this country when there were Southern Christians who actually believed in Christianity and acted accordingly. But unlike the Bible Belt Christians of today, they held very little sway over their respective corrupt and despicable politicians. What this country did to the Cherokee Nation was nothing short of genocide. Had this black part of our history been taught in our history classrooms, perhaps we would not have elected such corrupt and detestable politicians as we have in this last decade. Perhaps we would not have allowed such hateful groups such as the extremist right wing and the fanatical Southern Christian zealot to have gained so much power.
