The Second Coming

Rate this book
A serial killer is raping and stabbing women bartenders in the heart with a sterling silver knife shaped like a cross and leaving their disemboweled bodies to be discovered on the altars of churches in Oakland, California with a mysterious symbol smeared on the wall in their blood. Detective Mike McCormick, a retired Navy SEAL who suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder and drug and alcohol abuse has no clues or suspects until he receives a phone call from Father John who is a monk who claims he sees the murders as they happen in his dreams. At first Mike dismisses Father John as a false psychic looking to exploit the murders for notoriety, but then Father John tells him details from the crime scene that were not released to the press to eliminate false confessions. After Mike meets with Father John, he thinks Father John has an alter personality who is the “Sterling Killer” and that he is mistaking the alter personality’s memory of killing the victims as dreams. Mike contacts a criminal psychologist, Dr. Kate Wilson, to have her assess whether or not Father John has a split personality. Dr. Wilson is an Ivy League educated beauty with a wild streak and Mike begins to fall for her. Kate introduces Mike to a Harvard Divinity School professor who tells Mike about an ancient text know as the Satanic Codex that has been covered up by the church since the 1st century AD because of the controversial story it tells about Jesus and the Antichrist. Now Mike, Kate and Father John must race against time before the Sterling Killer can take his final victim and fulfill his destiny. Are you ready for The Second Coming?
