Billionaire Matchmaker is a short story serial (2 part) featuring a big beautiful woman by author Cordelia Baxter. This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed it very much and plan to finish Chloe and Jake's story as well as reading her other billionaire serial. Note: I rated this book three stars as that is my highest rating for short stories.
Summary:
Chloe Harper runs a successful matchmaking business, and she's built that reputation with her hard work, dedication, smarts, and efficiency. Sadly, she's not so successful in her own love life, but that doesn't mean she isn't fantastic at her job or professional in every way. That is, until Jake Powers becomes her client. Jake is a known billionaire playboy, but he's enlisted Chloe's help to find him a wife. Chloe is at first excited to be matchmaking such a high profile client, but she soon looses any excitement in light of Jake's cold, calculated approach to marriage. While trying to find just the right woman, Chloe finds herself feeling forbidden feelings of lust and desire for Jake, but determines not to worry too much as she isn't his type. When the sparks between them become too much to deny, Jake and Chloe come up with a very different kind of arrangement that promises extreme pleasure with none of the traditional strings attached. Chloe can't be more surprised by the desire in Jake's eyes, for her, but she'll take what he has to offer while she can. But can Chloe keep hold of the promise of a brilliant future when a manipulative part of Chloe's past comes back into her life, and Jake is caught up in the situation?
I really liked Chloe, except for her attitude towards Jude. Come on, three times he cheated and yet she still calls him a friend? Ummm ...no. Still I liked her personality and humbleness. Jake was a bit on the fence with me. I hated his cold, blank moments and his comments on marriage and it's fundamental purpose, but when he got warmer with Chloe, he was sweet. I loved his kink. This is a bit of a cliffhanger with the second installment being the conclusion. I'm delving in right now. <3
