The Dean murder case of 1918 in Jaffrey NH has been written about for decades, but this is the first account in fiction, where the author uses the available facts to show how it MIGHT have happened. The book is full of historical documents and photos from the real case.

I was raised by the Shakers and ran away to Manhattan to pursue a career in acting, and when I failed at that, I thought "I know the alphabet" so I became a writer.

Kudos to local author Jack Coey of Keene for bringing to life a local slice of history and thanks to my local Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) worker for recommending this as we were discussing novels set in our hometowns. I recommended Beachcombing for a Shipwrecked God...I think it is time to read that again!

Based on true events during WW I, a neat New England mystery - unsolved to this day. Presents a "possible" solution. Entertaining, a great vacation book.
