Commonality and Particularity in Ethics

Rate this book
Some of the 16 essays were presented at a symposium in Turku, Finland in August 1993 and others were invited to flesh out the questioning of traditional assumptions about moral agency, the sense and foundations of moral obligation, the nature of moral judgement and disagreement, and the aims of moral philosophy itself. Many of them work towards overcoming the opposition between the universal and the individual by finding the former in various particular contexts, practices, and modes of moral response.
