Violet Wilson has had enough of her boring life. Just when she decides to pursue her dream of designing haute couture, her mundane world is turned upside by Leon Girard, a charming Frenchman.
Unfortunately, there is a dark shadow behind Leon and Violet’s relationship.
Leon is not quite who he seems to be, and has his own reasons for pursuing Violet, reasons that have more to do with secrets, greed and deceit, than love or emotions…

Not sure where to begin. I kept reading it not because it was interesting or exciting, but because I wanted to know what the deception was. I could have saved myself the trouble because it was not that shocking and poorly worked out. I found the conversations and the interaction between the two lead characters at times a bit formal and often boring. The 'jump into bed' was too soon and unrealistic. I mean she just ended a relationship, she doubts if he is honest so she moves into his hotel? It was an okay read, but there are much better books out there in this genre.
This story was hard to get into. It lacked substance I wanted to know more about the characters. Violet was ok it was odd that she would agree to stay at a hotel with a man she barely knew for a day!! Who agrees to take an unknown man sightseeing? Am i missing something or do people on NYC do that? Leon fell short for me as the french charmer he was meant to be. He seemed rehearsed and not genuine at all. Maybe if the relationship had played out with more amount of time the story would have been better.
