Dragon's Mate should come with a warning! This juicy little story was
very hot
...and I bolded and emphasized those words for a reason ;)
Annie has had a bad experience in the past. She was attacked walking home from a night class and due to that incident, she has become weary of men she doesn't know. After she finished her semester at school, she moved back home and started volunteering at an animal shelter. There, she begins taking care of two baby dragons that were found. Soon, they become like her pets & her attachment to them starts to grow. Not only that, but she feels safe & protected around her dragons. When they've grown too big for her family's yard, she is told by her parents that she needs to get rid of them. Without the heart to do so, she decides to move and buy a ranch so the dragons can stay with her. What Annie doesn't know is that her dragons are actually shape shifters and she is in for a steamy surprise . Brand and Tine has found their mate and they're wasting no time in claiming her for their own.
Dragon's Mate was a fast, fun and smokin' hot erotic romance that will have you smiling one minute and fanning yourself the next. This is a M/F/M (menage) story, but it does also contain bits of M/M/F interactions as well. Being approximately 41 pages, Dragon's Mate made for an easy & light read. I had the pleasure of reading Dragons Mate long before it was published, because Beverly is my BFF. I can tell you the story evolved tremendously from it's first draft. It was always a good erotic story. Now it has become an erotic romance with heart and a great plot line.

Dragons' Mate is a fast, fun, and super steamy entry in the world of paranormal romance/erotica. For established genre fans, Dragons’ Mate hits the ground running. Your blood will be boiling and juices flowing rather quickly. For paranormal newbies, this is a great vehicle into the world. You get all the fun (emphasis on fun) of dragons without having to know a complicated backstory or any detailed lore. Ovalle creates likeable characters, a good read and a really good time.
The novella quickly introduces readers to damaged heroine Annie. Annie was a regular college student until she was brutally attacked one night on the way home from class. The attack smashes her security and her trust in men. In an effort to heal Annie leaves school for home and finds solace volunteering in a local animal shelter. Annie’s luck shifts when two abused and injured dragons, Brand and Tine, are brought in. The three quickly form a tight bond.
“Uncomfortable sharing with anyone else what had brought her home; it seemed natural to tell the dragons. Maybe that was because they had been hurt also, but it just seemed right to tell them.”
Annie, Brand, and Tine form a unique little family. Little does Annie know that in an effort to protect her slowly rebuilt sense of security, Brand and Tine have hidden their ability to shift into men. When the dragons feel a change in Annie, they risk revealing their true nature to claim Annie as their mate. Annie must decide if the love and passion Brand and Tine stoke in her are strong enough to push her forward into a promising new life.
As a reader I’ve noticed the tricky thing about novellas is getting enough information about the characters for me to care about them while still keeping a brisk pace with the overall story. I think Ovalle was very successful with that. I found Dragons’ Mate to be a worthwhile read and if/when Beverly Ovalle writes another story I will definitely be picking it up.

*Licking my dry lips before I begin to speak* WOW who knew dragons were sooo friggin hot? Cuz if I had, I would have been looking for some a LONG time ago....LOL. So here is the down low about this 46 page ebook...Annie had had a bad past and finds these 2 baby dragons while working at an animal shelter. They kinda decide she is their person and follow her to the point that she takes them home. When they get to big, she buys a huge ranch for them to live on. She confides in her "pets" and loves them completely. Little does Annie know BUT Brand and Tine are shape shifters. They have fallen in love with Annie but because she has a trauma in her past are afraid to reveal themselves. Well peps guess what? They do and it is allllllll kinds of steamy. I honestly read this book in like 5 minutes because it was niiiice and naughty. It is a fun erotic novella and if you like paranormal you will enjoy as well.

This is a good steamy quick read. It has dragon shifters (kinda) which in my opinion they aren’t enough books about them. Brand and Tine have been Annie for years. They found her when they were babies and she loves them. They also adore her and they protect her around the clock. She moved to a ranch for them to have more space but then had to teach them not to eat the pigs. Which I found hilarious… men who love bacon. LOL
Annie was attacked by a man in her past and she doesn’t like being around men because of it. That made Brand and Tine wait longer to show themselves because they didn’t want to scare her. When then finally shifted to humans she accepted them wholeheartedly. Of course they were men and didn’t understand that women need to communicate or they think the worst.
The sex scenes were good but they were so close together that it felt rushed. They were very well written but weren’t my favorite. I just wish there had been some character development of the men and maybe some more conversions. This is a quick read but enjoyable. For any reader who loves dragons or shifter I would recommend it.

A really yummy quick read. The story is great, even if the beginning is a little rushed. There were also moments in the first part of the story where things were slightly unclear.
Kind of a thin story-line, but what do you expect in such a short time. Loads of hot and heavy steam!! Oh girl, have the cold shower ready! Plenty of menage fun. Really smexy read!! Almost a hardcore read.
I enjoyed the characters and what story was there, I am very interested in seeing where this series is headed. Dragons are not my fav shifters but these guys definitely stoked the fires!

Wow! This is definitely more erotic than I was expecting but I really enjoyed the tale. If had to pick one flaw in the writing it would be that the story was too short! A must read for those that enjoy erotica with heart.

In Dragons’ Mate, Annie lives alone on a farm. She is reclusive, having been attacked whilst at college and wary of men and relationships. However, her constant companions are her two fully grown dragons, Brand and Tine, whom she met when she worked at an animal shelter. Annie does not realise that Brand and Tine are shifters, as they have never shown any sign of changing into their human form (in Annie’s world some dragons have this ability). However, Brand and Tine have been patiently watching over Annie, keeping her safe, waiting until they think she is ready for them to fulfill her every desire as their mate……..
Annie believes that she is dreaming when she first receives their attentions, as she has never experienced such pleasure. However, she soon realises the truth about her houseguests and welcomes their advances with open arms. I liked the fact that she was ‘game on’ for this, trust having been developed between her and Brand and Tine, by virtue of her knowing them in their dragon form.
Annie is one lucky woman! The lovemaking scenes in this menage are scorching hot, frequent and laced with occasional humour, as Brand and Tine compete for Annie’s attention. What else can any woman want, especially when pleasure is delivered by not one but two hunky insatiable males destined to adore you? The erotic scenes, of which most are MFM, with some MMF, are nicely balanced with the romantic elements of the tale. Brand and Tine clearly adore Annie, yearning for her to love them and accept them as her mates, with all of the implications this entails. We’re dragons. But we can shift into men.
WHEW!! Talk about hotness! This is one amazingly written erotic paranormal!! Even though it is a short story, Beverly has written it so perfectly with lots & lots of story!! I even cried!!! I loved the qualities, traits & quirks that her Dragons have. Very unique to me and oh so extremely hot!! I love that they know exactly what Annie needs, when & how much. Well up until one Dragon puts his foot in his mouth! I mean, come on! Who wouldn't want a pair of dragons for friendship and to have them protect her. That is how much I was sucked into this short story! I do not normally choose a short story to buy & read because, well, I like to get entranced into a story that I can stay in for hours. However, I am really starting to dig these short stories now too! All of the same magic happens, but just quicker and doesn't usually leave time for the split/get together/evil deeds separate them/they save each other & then get back together for their long over-due HEA. Not that I am knocking those stories either though! With Beverly's Dragon’s Mate, you actually do get all of this, just highly condensed, but not at the cost of a great story! Thoroughly enjoyed this story and I can't wait to read more!

Holy menage trois, Batman! Dragons' Mate is a fun and fast novella that I read in just a couple of hours because I couldn't put it down mid-action - and this book is almost all action! The story is set quickly in the first two chapters. It takes place in Minnesota in a world where "exotics" are well known (dragons, shape shifters, etc.). Annie bonds with two young dragons that she finds at an animal shelter and they follow her home. She eventually moves to a farm where she can raise them with more space. Little does she know that these dragons can shift into hot and hunky men, and they have fallen in love with her. When they finally reveal themselves to her, brace yourself for some incredibly steamy M/F/M and even M/M/F action. If you are looking for a fast read that cuts to the chase quickly and contains all of the "good parts" of a lengthier romance novel, this is the book for you. Be warned, it's hard to put down once you start, and it'll raise your temperature more than a few degrees!

Wow, wow, wow! This book is smokin' hot! After you read this, you are going to want a dragon (or two) of your own. I'm intrigued by this world where "Exotics" include dragons- and shifters mix openly with the public. Here, two companions unexpectedly become something new and fantastic. Annie, Brand, and Tine seem like they are in for a lot of fun times in the future, and I hope we might be privy to some of them.
This short erotic fantasy story is delicious. Some amazing groundwork and well developed characters are present; very unusual for a short story, but well done. I would strongly recommend this book, but maybe not the best read for a soccer field- this is definitely a glass of wine and chocolate book!
Warning: In two scenes, Annie becomes a bit....unconscious during some hot loving. Some might be concerned about non-consensual, but it doesn't come across that way at all.

I love dragon shifters so I thought I would give this book a try. The beginning started off decent with a little into Annie’s background and that she has some PTSD from a previous traumatic attack. Dragons are real and considered exotic animals. Annie adopts two abused dragons and bought land enough for them to live on happily.
Then it starts getting a little creepy. Annie thinks she has a dream with some hot sex, turns out the dragons are really shifters and the reveal their human selves as Annie is swimming naked. Then they have sex with her and Annie just goes right along with it like there’s nothing wrong with what just happened. The sex scenes were very graphic bordering on vulgar. It made me nauseous and I ended up having to skip over those parts. It was hot, raunchy sex through the entire book. While some people might enjoy this, I was not one of them.

Dragon's Mate was a simple erotica tale. The author takes you on an erotica ride that will leave you wide eyed. It alludes to love but it being such a short story, I didn't quite get that. It certainly had a lot of lust and for erotica, that's a main ingredient. This is the first time I've read a story that includes dragons. I see the allure to dragons based on this story.
This story was a very quick read. The writer describes the sexual scenes in great detail. She leaves nothing to the imagination, another great ingredient for erotica.
Do I recommend this story? If you want something quick and dirty (in a good sense) to read, yeah I do. However, if you are easily offended (which I'm not) by reading sex in explicit detail, don't pick it up, it's not for you. This story is certainly not for the faint of heart or the easily offended type.

A young woman that never seemed to fit in the big city that was full of people. A incident at school left her afraid of the dark. She kept herself busy by volunteering in a animal shelter. Two young dragons attach themselves to her, smiles. She decides to do what has her mom in hysterics and her father a bit miffed at her. But she goes her own way. Showing strength even through the dark time that troubles her.
Two dragons search and wait forever for their mate. Knowing being close to their mate will allow them to change. "we are dragons that shift, to humans one dragon told her. That was one of my favorite lines in the book. The dragons shows their patience and love by being there even when she doesnt know it. Will they be able to chase away her darkness? This was a fun read, cute and enjoyable. The only negative I could find in this book was that its too short. Enjoy!!

There is not too much I can say about this book without giving a lot of the details away. I don't like to give any spoilers in the reviews that I write.
Basically, this is more of a novella. It is a short read and it is a good in between book. I took me about an hour to read it. This is an erotica. It is about a girl who was harmed in her past so she did not trust anyone easily. In the process of her getting her life back together she decided to adopt two dragons or well they adopted her. What she was not aware if was the fact that they are shape shifting dragons. This is a hot little read and let's just say that some fantasies are fulfilled.
I would give this 3 1/2 stars!!!
Basically, this is more of a novella. It is a short read and it is a good in between book. I took me about an hour to read it. This is an erotica. It is about a girl who was harmed in her past so she did not trust anyone easily. In the process of her getting her life back together she decided to adopt two dragons or well they adopted her. What she was not aware if was the fact that they are shape shifting dragons. This is a hot little read and let's just say that some fantasies are fulfilled.
I would give this 3 1/2 stars!!!

This was a good story. Brand and Tine are dragons. They have been living with Annie for a while and can shift to human males but haven't because of her fear of men. When they do reveal themselves she's happy and there's much sex. There are a couple issues to work out but things end well. Overall, I liked it and thought it was a good story.

Annie found Brand and Tine when they were small dragons and she took them to a shelter and helped to raise them. Now they are grown adult dragons living on a farm with Annie. Brand and Tine know that Annie is their mate but she does not know they are dragon shifters.
The author gave the characters very good interaction.This is definitely a book that I could not put down.
This is for any mature erotic/paranormal romance book lover because of sexual content or adult language.

This was a really hot read.
Annie was attacked one night while she was on campus. She doesn't trust men and is afraid to go anywhere at night by herself. All that changes when she see's two dragons at the vet where she works.
Brand and Tine knows that Annie is their mate. They just have to make sure that she wants them.
The author did a great job writing this book and I will be looking for more from this author.

Far too much narrative, misuse of words, off-putting language and bad sex scenes. There is talk of hearing parents having sex, there is oozing, there is an "aroused member" penetrating all the way into the womb, there is hot stickiness being sprayed against said womb, and there is repeated activity perpetrated against the heroine while she is unconscious. Repeated.
This book is not for me, nor is it one I would recommend.

shapeshifter fantasy short read. Premise is dragons are an accepted part of society. Two baby (?) dragons are rescued and sent to a pound to rehabilitate and then be set free. But the two latch on to one of the female staff and kind of adopt HER.
Lots of erotica action of the mfm variety but a weak storyline. For the fan of the straightforward erotica story with a feel good HEA type of ending.
