He’s a pioneer of cat blogging and channels his inner Ann Landers every week in his advice column for mousebreath! magazine, and is the author of three popular books; this is the book his fans and minions have been waiting for: the memoirs of Max Thompson. Bite Me is a book that will have you laughing out loud, will have you crying until your nose runs, and will have you wondering out loud, “Am I really reading the autobiography of a cat?”
Yes. Yes, you are.
This is the book Max’s readers have been asking for–from the moment the Younger Human brought him home, through the tortures of the M-Word, living with a dog, and then with Basement Kitty Buddah–this is Max Thompson’s memoirs, in his own words.
I read a lot. A lot. There aren't many books I will read again. Nor that many authors. But I will read these again, and I will read anything this cat deigns to write. And from here on out, I will PAY for them! These are the books to keep by the bed to read on the nights that follow bad days, when I can't sleep for sorrow or anger or simple boredom. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a gift!
A quirky diversion. Cute, clever, and humorous with a nice dash of warmth and heart.
Sometimes the timing was difficult to grasp, as well as the sense of place. I think it would probably be a tad easier of someone followed the blog it was based on. But all in all, definitely a pleasant easy read for a warm summer afternoon.
This is the first-“person” narrative of (and by) a cat named Max. It’s a quick read and put a smile on my face. We moved a lot when I was growing up and so does Max’s family so I could relate.
A book that you really need to read if you have pets!
Max has outdone himself on this book! It is a golden jewel that not just bears reading but rereading. It will warm your heart, quell your fears, and make you laugh all at once! I really love Max and always will!
I'm not used to recording but this seems to be the easiest way for the most part I really really enjoyed the book bite me. It made me laugh out loud at the antics of Max it reminded me of the antics of my kitty The only bad thing I would say about the book is I thought the book was too long. The beginning of the book would make me laugh out loud and that's a wonderful feeling but as the book went on I just felt that space was being taken to fill up the book I would have enjoyed it better if it had been shorter but all in all it put a smile on my face
If you ever wondered what a cat is thinking on a daily basis as he lives with humans, Max will tell you! This is his life story so far, all eleven years of it. This cat has made me laugh for years as I've read his blog and his other books, and this one is fantastic! Max reminds me so much of my old cat, Tigger, because their attitudes, "voices", and life philosophies are identical! (I'll need to see paperwork before I'm convinced Tigger isn't one of Max's ancestors.) Fun reading!
I really enjoyed reading this book. As a cat lover, I have one of my own, plus three little dogs, I can feel and see where he's coming from. He telling his perspective on everything about his life, and how he views people,(humans) and other animals. And he does it in a tough, funny, sensible, and sensitive way. This book was touching, and very funny at times. I really liked it.
Sure,I'm a cat person but being a cat perso is more than liking cats Its understanding and being aware of personality. There is so much I recognize in Max's behavior and"catitude".Im going to recommend this to my sister, who loves dogs and my daughter in law whobloves all animals because the story is just that good. Will check out other books.
Writing funny books is not easy. But it seems to come easy for Max Thompson. If you own cats, or just like cats, or if you are a cat, this book will leave you in stitches, as they say. This book is a Laugh-out-loud riot.
Anyone who has ever been owned by a cat will like this book. Max Thompson is a snarky but philosophical cat who is king of his household. The book is frequently funny and it is interesting to see the world from a cat's point of view.
For a book written by a cat :) Nice job. At some point, Max's human might enlighten us on the frustration regarding the Air Force. Obviously a very good writer - would like to know more.
