The Ninth Taghairm: Redemption

Rate this book
There are far worse fates than death, but that is a truth Gadin Wilde knows all too well. He had to come to terms with his immortality from a sire that relished in the kill. He had eventually grown to accept the fact he was one of the damned; a vampire, an irredeemable beast driven by blood and blood alone. That was until he met the very complicated and alluring Talula Delphina and was shown another way of existing. In a blink of an eye, his whole world changed.

Cursed with a fate worse than death, Talula is destined to watch the world die. Punished with the cruelest form of immortality, she knows all about the devastation of death and the agonizing pain of rebirth. For almost thirteen hundred years, she has relived its vicious cycle time and time again. For a crime of retribution, her soul bares the mark of immortality, but suffers it in a mortal shell.

So when the dark and sensual, Gadin began hunting her, she welcomed the prospect of being his prey. After all, there are far worse ways to die. But nothing could have prepared her for the fire he lit within her.

And as their passions grow more intense, powerful forces fight to keep them apart. Will their love be enough to overcome their fated paths? Or will the secret crime Talula committed centuries ago, be so damning that Gadin won't be able to forgive her?

What an amazing read! I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book, and I was completely unable to put it down. The author pulled me into a beautiful, Pagan world full of rich colors and tragic history. Her writing is lyrical and it flows well.

Talula is an Oracle being punished for a crime she once committed. She is forced to live her life over and over again, ending in a painful death. This life is no different than any other...until Gadin. It is an attraction that won't be denied, and their relationship is full of an intense loyalty people spend their whole lives seeking, and some never find.

But then there are the secrets, the surprise twists and turns, and an ending that completes one story but hopefully begins another.

The author's writing is haunting and beautiful. It is like a song on the radio you find yourself singing long after it has played. It is such a new idea, and very different than anything I have read in a while. The characters are very rich. The oracles and their personalities are well rounded.

I was enthralled, and I look forward to future works by this writer!

I received a copy from the author for an honest review.
New author alert here and one you will find yourself hooked to and following for years to come. This story is her first release and very captivating.
Talula feels she is a damned soul. She traded her soul many, many years ago for the life of another only to die and come back to the memory of what she has given of herself. When you’ve lived as long as she has, what is there to look forward to knowing it’s always going to come back full circle to the way it was before? But things change when she spots someone watching her one day and speaks to him.
Gadin is a vampire that has been the way he is for 60 years. The scent of a woman is too tempting to just move along and find his next meal. She’s intoxicating to him. But when she speaks to him, he can’t help himself but to come closer and see why he feels the need to be close to her.
Could Gadin be her savior to help her see that she can love and live? What if everything you ever believed was a lie? Will revenge save those you care about or pull you into an endless spiral of hate?
Very impressive is this story by Ms. Rose. The book has a glossary in it and those always impress me as it explains words I would have never known what the true meaning of. It allows easy access for the readers to understand better.

I received my copy from the author herself for my enjoyment, and it’s only fair that I in turn give my fair and unbiased opinion in a review.

*shakes head* to try and see if all the pieces to what I’ve just read fall into it’s rightful place…. Talk about a compelling novel!! And it’s a debut novel at that, from a very talented young NEW author.

Between the covers you’re going to find an amazing detailed story, one of such power, of a lesson of chose and the consequences that ensue by a choice that is made. In this case, a choice made 130 years ago. Talula has been condemned to a cursed life of living (if you could call it that) only to die, and return. To the memory of it all…. Talula traded her “soul” for the life of another. Would you?
If someone hurt a loved one, son, daughter or others would you be willing to commit a crime against that person because of what they did? (I know I would, no matter the consequence) What would you be willing to do?

Talula feels the pain in more that one way by a “Choice” she made. Then when all just seems lost, with truly nothing to look forward to, lets just face it how can there be anything - when it’s been the same for 1300 years?

Things tale on a surprising twist when she meets someone. Can there be hope after all? You guessed it right, I’m not going to say who, what, when, whey or even how!!! HA…

Author Pyxi Rose has created a intriguing cast of characters, then mingles them into this astounding story, one of so much power.
You will read about love, heartache, a life lesson, betrayal all through a LONG lifetime all collected together, then placed crafted amazingly throughout this, her debut novel “The Ninth Tagharim: Redemption (Taghairm Chronicles #1)”

I highly recommend this as a must read!!! And look very much forward to the next in this series.

I am honestly really speechless and in dire need of finding the proper words to explain what I just read. WHAT a completely astounding read. I have no idea where to go with this review. But I can tell you this, you have to read this book. This book is like NONE I have ever read. Sadly I know this review will not do this book justice. But having said that, it should tell you everything you need to know!

I really am blown away seriously. I have NEVER read such a powerful overwhelming story like this. It touched me in a level I didn't know I had. WOW!!! The Author has a unique way of writing that almost brings this scary but mysterious feeling to you. Her twist on mythical aspects is wonderful. I almost got a creepy feeling as I was reading this, if that makes any sense. Like this Author has a very dark side to her.

Power characters with intense description of details. Like I said eerie but in a profound way of making you loose sense everything around you. One thing for sure, it is undeniable how remarkably this Author took this very complex story and made it flow so beautifully. From the opening to the closing this book, I was very captivated and most intrigued. She has wrapped love, endurance, heartache, and betrayal and made a masterpiece. Let me not forget to add a forbidden love but not in a normal boring way. You read about paying for your choices by reaping the consequences. If you want a read that provides you with a challenge, yet different from the norm, and shaking you to the core of your body, read this book.

The only way I really can sum of this review is to use the word POWERFUL. I am just speechless honestly!
Even though the story leaves you with a sense of completion, there is enough evidence to know that there will be more to this series.

Favorite Line (s) I didn't think anymore. I attacked my goddess with the fiery rage on a thousand buried crimes she has committed against my blood.

I find myself in awe over this amazing story. One filled with heartache, vengeance, betrayal, love, and forgiveness. It's remarkable how complex this story is. Once again the lust for POWER destroys so many innocent lives!
Talula is a Taghairim or Oracle who is a damned soul, made to live and die just to come right back again. Each life a new punishment. It's so heart breaking to know what she has gone through. Then in her winter forest by her home she meets a vampire named Gadin. They are an unlikely pair but, come together none the less. It's was beautiful to watch two "damned" come together and fall in love.
Frige a deity of the pagean has condemned Talula, she is the only one who can end Taula's curse.
You must read this book and find out what happens. You will not be disappointed! The stry flows so smoothly and the characters really are amazing, thoughtful, and well just awesome.

This has the elements of a great romance- two cursed beings brought together to become each other’s salvation. Gadin, a vaimpíre, and Talula, an oracle forced to endure life after life after surrendering her soul to save her daughter. There are great ancient legends and ancient gods here that serve to drive the tale- intriguing indeed- and the author employed the ancient concepts well, revealing a wonderful imagination to the reader.

While I did enjoy The Ninth Taghairm: Redemption, I also, however, found this to be a light read. With all these great concepts present I thought there would be more depth, more soul-searching. I hoped to really identify with the characters, and merely found them interesting. Still, if you’re looking for a romance with a definite supernatural twist, something forbidden, something of time itself, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow! To be honest, I bought this book because I am dear friends with the author. Having said that, I want to say Pyxi's book blew me away! I cannot believe such a masterpiece is a DEBUT NOVEL!

The story is written in two points-of-view: Talula and Gadin. Talula is an Oracle, and she has been punished to die and be reborn until her god decides she has paid for her crimes. Gadin is a vampire who has been around for a mere 60 years. In a strange turn of events, they become enthralled with each other, two damned souls finding comfort. This style of writing is very hard and to see the ease with which Pyxi has smoothly accomplished this leaves me in awe of her artistic abilities.

This is a story that shows us the casualties when someone becomes consumed with the lust for power. It is rife with emotion: vengeance, betrayal, love, and forgiveness.

Characters, atmosphere, settings, emotions are all so well developed that you become a part of the story. You don't just read, you live it! Amazing!

This is a book you MUST READ! It is one, I am sure I will read again (which I rarely do).

Congrats Pyxi! You have an amazing debut novel! Please share more of your talents with us soon!!!

I came across Pyxi Rose on social media and found out that she had written this! Boy oh boy am I glad I did!! This book has so many levels and depth of emotion!
I normally don't like to compare one author to another but in this case I have too! Pyxi brings shades of Anne Rice, Tolkien and George R.R. Martin! Big names? You betcha! But this gal can write!
I was amazed by the story she weaves of an Oracle or Taghairm ,Talula and the way she has gone through her life! Things that go wrong for her go really wrong. But the things that go right are amazing!
Gadin is a predator in the truest sense, a vampire damned to walk the Earth in immortality. What happens when two tortured souls collide? Amazing things! Happiness, sadness, betrayal, need, if there's an emotion, this book has it!
I honestly cannot tell you in enough words WHY you need to read this book! This is a debut novel for Pyxi Rose, when I learned that it made this story really stand out for me. If you are a fan of vampires, and a touch of history (Scottish Oracles) you absolutely must read this! I know I am not alone in waiting for the next in the series!

The Ninth Taghairm: Redemption was able to bring me into a world very unlike my own, yet with the kind of realism that allows you to believe such a fantasy story. In a relatively short book, Pyxi Rose is able to create a story that weaves a very interesting web of intrigue with vaimpires, taghairms, a god. goddesses, and much, much more.

She intertwines everything, making things connect to each other flawlessly, setting up something later on that makes the story that much more powerful. Because of love opposing sides are able to conquer a foe they never thought they could. The characters are created so colorfully with their own beautifully distinct personalities. There is darkness, horror, betrayal, and yet the greatest two things about this story that seems to reverberate within me is love conquers all, and redemption. Both of these themes weigh heavily in this story, but it is told in a very unique way that sits well afterwards leaving one to think over the story long after it is finished.

Gadin is a vampire, an animal who hunts and kills to survive. While stalking a young woman, he becomes curious about her. She is unafraid even though she quite obviously knows exactly what he is, and seems to welcome his attack. Talula is a broken shell of a woman, sentenced to immortality in a mortal body for a decision made as a young woman. She can die, but she always comes back to live her lonely life over and over again. Until Gadin comes hunting her. Instead of killing her, he begins to fall for her and her for him. It is a forbidden love and the powers that be will do whatever is necessary to put a stop to it. Between the two of them, they have committed the most heinous of crimes, will their love be enough to save them from their own inner demons as well as the ones that would tear them apart? This was a super different twist on a paranormal book. I loved the tormented souls and the love that two broken beings have for each other. This book is packed with sadness, violence, love, romance, suspense, and redemption. A definite must read, I loved it.

There are not enough stars to give this book it's true rating. It is beyond 5*! This book stands out for its amazing and unique plot, well developed characters, and seamless in depth story telling. I really liked how mythology and history was weaved in. The use of Scottish and Russian language added to the authenticity of feeling like I was reading from that perspective. I loved how the main characters accepted each other’s flaws. They fell in love rather quickly yet the love story didn’t feel forced or unbelievable. There is great action and suspense with surprises and a climatic ending that will leave you wanting more. This is the Authors debut novel yet it reads as if she has been writing for decades. It is explosive from start to finish and truly embraces the meaning of Redemption.

On receiving this book, I wasn't sure what to expect as the title gave nothing away, I was pleasantly surprised to say this paranormal read was delightful. Talula is a lost soul who has adapted her miserable life to accepting her fate and being grateful for the enjoyment she can absorb. Gadin is a confused vampire who has decided not to live as a monster but he becomes enchanted by this lost soul and follows her into trouble. This is a very vague description; however, to give any more would be diluting a fantastic and gripping read.

The Ninth Taghairm: Redemption Book One of the Taghairm Chronicles was everything I had hoped it would be, and more! The storyline is deep and dark; the characters are well thought out, and exciting to get to know. The pain Talula felt, came through on the pages, leaving me in awe of her strength. When she discovers the truth behind her tortures. Watch out! There is nothing more fierce! If you want something new and exciting, you have to get this book.

The first book by this wonderful new author. It follows the legends of the scottish oracles, well researched and very descriptive. Then add in a handsome, not your typical vampire. Tula and Gadin, two immortals fighting destiny.

This book took me completely by surprise. I have always been intrigued by deity's and the oracles. This was an exciting, well told story. I am excited to see what is in store for us in this series.

This book offered a bit of mixed genre paranormal romance, a broken family with a Bitchy mother. The interesting dynamics of Gadin and Talula sucked me in. What are vampires drawn to? Not wimpy girls, bad ass Oracles! What could be better than a bad ass oracle defying her bitchy Goddess mother and then finally rallying the family for an epic battle to save their sister? Pyxi I love your book and am looking forward to the next with much anticipation!!

This is one hell of a read. We are thrown into a world of mystery, wonder, love, sex, and, magic. There is horror, but there is beauty. There are lies, but there is truth. There are wonderful characters, and characters who you love to hate.

Ms Rose should be very proud of her debut novel. It is everything that the genre needs and more. Cannot wait to read more of her work!

I really enjoyed this book. I love the characters and how the writer shows the strength of the heroin. She drew her strength from the love of her child and even though she was a truly good soul never mess with a mother. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books
