K. A. Merikan is a duo of queer writers who don’t believe in following the well-trodden path. In their books you can dip your toe into dangerous romance with mafiosi, outlaw bikers and bad boys, all from the safety of your sofa. They love the weird and wonderful, stepping out of the box, and bending stereotypes both in life and in fiction. Their stories don’t shy away from exploring the darker side of M/M romance, and feature a variety of anti-heroes, rebels, misfits, and underdogs who go against the grain.
Be prepared for shocking twists, dark humor, raw emotions, and sizzling hot scenes.

K.A. Merikan also writes steamy M/M romcoms as Devon Doe.

The story is based on a fantasy expressed in Scavengers: September. I don't think this is a stand alone piece, I think you need to know the characters to really appreciate what is going on though I'm sure it can be enjoyable without the back story too... I just think it is better to have read the novellas first and, anyway, they are so good, who wouldn't want to read them?!

James and Ira role play being at Eton as student and headmaster. James confesses his "sins" to Ira and receives a spanking.

I liked this story. It was very intense. I liked that James felt he was back at Eton standing in front of the headmaster before being punished for a past error. Ira is stern and scary. Eventually they end their role playing and start talking. I enjoyed the freedom of their talk. Neither was afraid to express himself.

I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

Interested in sampling Kat and Agnes Merikans’ writing through this short story (which was formerly available as a free 21-page download through Smashwords and included an excerpt of Scavengers: July), I found it to be a nicely written piece of gay erotica that could form a scene in a very kinky version of Jeeves and Worcester! Although it involves the intrepid ‘Zombie Gentlemen’, an aristocrat (James) and his associate (Ira) who make a living fighting zombies in a late Victorian alternative-reality Britain, no zombies feature in this story. Rather, it is merely what might be described as an, um, intimate interlude between the two said gentlemen.

The excerpt from Scavengers: July contains a scene of the gents (well, Ira) fighting a group of zombies after which there is a moment of revelation....
