This is the second installment of this series, told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA. Although this can be read as a standalone, IMO it is more enjoyable if you read book one. In book one you meet Talia and Leo and get to see her personality before you meet her in this story. You also get to see how she convinces her best friend to enter the contract that leads her to this path in life.
After reading the first book “Erotic Behavior” I was so excited for Talia and Leo’s story and it didn’t disappoint. I love a good alpha male who will go to the ends of the earth to save and worship his woman. I also love the strong female heroines who think they aren’t as strong as they are and find their true strength. The steamy chemistry wad off the charts. With each book of Nikki Rome’s that I read, and I’ve read almost all of them, I learn something new in the world of BDSM. You will get several different things that Talia and Leo play out, and you won’t be disappointed in the spiciness of it!
I loved getting to revisit Raven, Beckett, Valentina, the Kings and Noah. I love seeing all the alpha men who are tough as nails being melted down by the love of their woman. I was happy to see that the Kings and their Queen are growing their family.
I read Noah’s story in the the Hit Man anthology and he definitely stole my heart. I didn’t get enough of him in that short story and was hoping to see him again. I was so excited to see him pop up in here! Even though most of the scenes he was in during this book were serious, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at his remarks and antics and I’m hoping that we get more of him!

Talia decided to put herself up for auction for a five-year contract. She is to be married to a stranger. Carter, who purchased Talia was a billionaire and he did not treat any woman with respect. He was the Devil in disguise. She was afraid for her life. All she could think was she had to survive for five years.
Leo worked for several different crimes families doing odd jobs after the family he was working for stepped away. One of Leo’s fiends, Beckett, had purchased Talia best friend, Raven, at the same auction. When Raven did not hear anything from Talia, Beckett asked Leo to go check on Talia.
Leo was quickly able to go undercover and become the head is Talia’s security. After Talia told Leo what had happened in the weeks she got to Carter’s he knew he needed to get her out of there but it may take time.
Like always I really enjoyed the book. Nikki writes about strong women who think they are weak but they truly aren’t and the men shows them how powerful they can be with a side of kink.
