John Condon has a contract to take out three targets, all members of a family. A seasoned killer, this job should be just like any other, but when he comes to the point of no return, he has doubts--who are these people? Who wants them dead? Meanwhile he meets and falls for a waitress with a troubled past, but he must hide who he really is from her.
While large parts of this thriller are a bit formulaic, it is still a pretty good read. John Condon is a contract killer hired to eliminate 2 women and a 10 year old boy. Almost naturally he can't bring himself to do it. The one redeeming factor is that Mike Ramon manages to flesh out Condon nicely, and describe his history in flashbacks and conversations. I liked particularly the way he is writing the end, which comes as a bit of a surprise.
