With her life spiraling out of control, Primrose Pretty travels to her brother's commune in the wilds of Australia, hoping to figure out what to do next. When she stumbles into the wrong house, she meets Tom, an organic farmer and sparks fly between the two. But Primrose is a city girl and her move to Nirvana is only temporary. Worse, she doesn't really fit in with her brother's bohemian lifestyle or the other residents. Tom is attracted to Primrose, but her bossy nature and habit of sticking her nose in everyone's business--including his--grates.
Therein lies my one issue with this story. For the most part, it's a charming tale with unusual characters and an interesting setting. But Primrose is not the most likeable character and her growth arc isn't complete. Rather, the people around her change to accept her or move on. I would've preferred a little more self-awareness on her part.
Still, the story is sweet and the author's voice sucks you in. An enjoyable read.
