Those who dream do so in defiance of a practical world. In beautifully painted verse, author and poet Erin Walker describes the longing and determination of those with vision. These encouraging, and sometimes harrowing, poems speak to the soul of every dreamer.

The pain of dreams delayed or lost. The hope that ambitions will soon be reached. The heart-wrenching tug-of-war between a distracting imagination and the suffocating grind that holds us back.

This powerful collection is sure to speak to all of those that press on with their Head in the Clouds.

Head in the clouds is a book with 40 abstract free verse poems from a dreamers point of view. Some poems are of a single line but are positive and stimulating.

This motivating poetic compilation is succeeded by her autobiographical memoir about postpartum depression that was published in 2022. While both her anthologies are contrasting they show different stages of a person where one can be a dreamer even after a dark phase of mental health. Her poems are honest in any form and do not shy away from portraying the realistic world.

In this uncertain and unpredictable time, Erin Walker, with her encouraging poetry has tried to give an impetus to a dormant dreamer in us. The meaning of the poems reflect the inner voice of a person struggling to materialize their dreams in a tumultuous competitive world.

This was a beautifully written book. It was filled with lyrical poetry and words that struck true to me. This book is for the romantics and the readers, the writers and the dreamers. A short book, but it felt like the author was in a dream herself while this book was being created.

To the dreamers looking to add to their poetry collection, this is a 100% recommend.

Beautifully written and relatable,
these poems for me were such a comforting form of writing and I found myself relating to the ink on the pages. I’m always one for dreaming and being a dreamer!

Thanks to the author for sending me a copy!

I’m not usually a poetry person, so I’m glad I decided to give this a chance. It’s a short book that still manages to get great points across, and with beautiful prose. The overall theme of being stuck in the real world while you just want to daydream is something that I think a lot of people can resonate with. It’s for the readers, the writers and the dreamers. My only criticism is that some of the poems where really short, so much that I didn’t really get much from them.
