Wow, a big wow for this the 3rd book in the series. This was an action packed section of this off centred romance. Sander Darrion Ahtissari, heir to the throne of Latvala, or so we all believe & the love of his life, Chey Sinclair. Sander & Chey have been through so much in the first 2 parts of this action packed, dramatic love story with a twist or 2.

King Aksel & Queen Helena, in this part of the tale have absolutely lost the plot when it comes to being in touch with the common people of the land that they rule. They have so many secrets & have done so much wrong in the past that all they know is sly & evil. What comes out in the story is so out of left field at times, very imaginative story from the author. There is lies that are uncovered, more attempted murders & assassinations. Real deaths & one especially of someone they only just discover is a hidden relative, but part of a secret the king & queen don't want anyone to know anything about.

Mattias, the 2nd eldest brother proves himself over & over again to be so loyal to his elder brother Sander, they make a formidable team. With both of them making it a mission to bring the truth out in the open for the people to see & make their decisions informed. They are under constant threat of their lives by the king & queen. Their own parents who have let all the power go to their heads & lost track of what's really important.

There is a coup of sorts & at the end of this book we have a new king, but it's almost not whom we all thought it was going to be. But we get through all the excitement & are treated to our HEA & also for Sander, a little surprise from Chey. Fantastic story & great end to a story that had so many twists & turns that at times we didn't see things coming.

Fantastic, angsty, thrilling ride, this was...

and what fabulous, realistic characters, espacially Sander and Chey, my new fave couple...

what they have been through since they first met, and the way they handled and survived the atempts on their lives, secrets, devious ploys infitrated by greed for power...where even your own blood doesn't come to count as smth...if you are not on the right course of politics...
But Sander has Chey...on every step of the way, and the fight they had ahead of them was indeed scary and horrible BUT they had each other and the basic need to stay complete...and win the game, against all odds...
Sometimes it takes me a little while to adjust to something new or shocking, but I do adjust. We'll get through whatever comes our way. I have faith we're strong enough together to deal with the fallout.

and indeed, Chey soon found the inner strength and inner power to stand by the man she loves and fights for the real love they found.

Holy crap! I was completely shocked and surprised at the twist of Fate offered to Sander (Prince Dare) at the end of this book. I definitely didn't see it coming.

This series is excellent.

The only downfall I found in this book was the ending. And it's because: I WANT MORE!!!!

After doing some minor research, I was able to find that Danielle Bourdon is actually going to be writing another book for the series so it's just a matter of a few months before it becomes available for purchase. So for that, I am thankful.

As I stated with my other reviews on the books within the series, I cannot stress how out of the ordinary this book is for me to read. And not only to read but to fall in-love with as well.

As a reader, I think it is important that the author is able to allow the readers to be able to feel some form of bond with the characters being displayed on the pagers. In fact, I have read several books where authors have not been able to reach this goal. However, Danielle Bourdon does not have that problem. Her writing allows the reader(s) to grow and evolve with the characters throughout the pages of the books. As a reader, you are able to feel happy when the characters are happy; sad when they are sad; confused when they are confused and so on.

I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series "The King takes a Bride" which will be available in May 2013. Job well done Danielle Bourdon.

This story starts right after Prince Sander purposed to Chey at his castle. Chey is in the country of Latvala illegally. The King and Queen of Latvala has labeled Chey a terrorist and a threat against the monarchy. Prince Sander threatened to expose the King as unfit to rule Latvala due to his actions in executing the prince former marriage while the princess was pregnant with another man's child.

Before Sander could execute the plan the King declared that Prince Sander would not be the heir to the throne and would be exiled out of the country immediately. The king also has plans to rid himself of Chey once and for all. Chey is force to run for her life before she is captured.

While on the run Chey meets a stranger who has answers to questions that could expose a scandalous secret that could ruin the King and Queen. But would this secret also hurt Sander's chance from becoming King?

Just when I think the overall plot of this series could not become more juicy I am proven wrong and am wowed by the imaginative and original writing style of Ms. Danielle Bourdon. This story has 2 unexpected twist that you won't see coming and what is so good about it is the reality that these situations could have really existed in other monarchies. The ending is sweet beyond measure but it leaves the burning question is ....Could there be another book in this series? The author definitely left the question up in the air.

I've never been big on writing reviews. I either like a book or I don't and that's about it for me. Three books into this series I'm ready to say something about it. I downloaded the first book in the series because it was free. I left it in my library for a time while I read other books I was more interested in. I finally decided to give this series a go and I haven't stopped yet!!! Is it great literature?? No. But it is a wonderfully enjoyable escapism read. I thoroughly enjoyed book 1 & 2 but this third book was a home run!!! Unexpected twists, great action. I can't wait to continue Sander & Chey's story over the next two books!!!

I hate that I really need to get to the conclusion of a story even when I am not enjoying the book. This is the first of the three that I read most of. The whole story presented as a trilogy could have been done in about 400 pages and been a better overall work. Too many pages of non-relevant details especially in the first two volumes. Editing is a good thing and really needs to be done with this story. Just because the trilogy is popular does not mean every story can be stretched to get there.

This was such a wonderful romance novel (I hope there is a 4th book in the series)! Okay, here goes the laconic of the story: if you are looking for a book that includes a power hungry, temper tantrum king & queen; an incredibly hot, intelligent, focused prince; many shocks, revealing secrets, murder, and an unbreakable love than this is the book for you.

What an awesome series. And it’s just that a SERIES. You don’t watch your favorite T.V. show expecting to see the end the first time you watch it. This first book doesn’t end the way you want it to so if you’re not into buying books with in a series then don’t read this one because you will not be able to put it down. You will also be disappointed in how it ends. Now if you’re willing to stick it out in the long run you will be pleasantly surprised. It is an awesome series full of tragedy, compromise, adventure, anxiety, drama, obstacles and most of all romance.

After reading the product reviews for this book I was skeptical. So after reading the first book it became like an addiction I just had to know what was going to happen next. As you go further through-out the series your get to know the characters more. There is not a lot of bad language in this series I think I may have found 2 words with in the 5 books I have read. There is also not a lot of the raunchy sex scenes in this book. Both things I found refreshing.

Just a true romance story, personally I truly enjoyed each and every book. I got so swept up in the books I just couldn’t put it down and found myself reading in the wee hours of the morning.

If you love books in a series you will not be disappointed.

I love this book ! I finish this whole entire book within 2 hours and I am out of word. Chey and Sander is back and more awesome in this book. Mattias is becoming more amazing and I love how he loves his brother so much. I totally recommend this series to everyone ! I am now reading the fourth book and I am a bit sad as I'm nearing the end of this series!

*Spoiler Alert*
What I still can't believe is that Laur is dead !! I mean I know if he's alive, Sander wouldn't be king but still we were just introduced to him and the bang! He's dead .
description

I also didn't expect the King to take his own life, someone should have just killed him cause he deserved it after everything he did. I can't wait for their wedding and the birth of their child. I hope it'a a boy ! HAHAHA

Fantastically well written, very much like William and Kate. I would have personally preferred more romantic scenes with Sander and Chey, but the scenes where they were together was beautiful. The action and the twisted plot of it all was masterfully well written if not a little dramatic. Mattias was a great supporting character, and I definitely wouldn't mind reading books about his story. As for the ending of this book, it left a lot to the readers imagination. I cannot wait for the fourth book, The King Takes A Bride, to be published on May 20, 2013.

I really wish this author would stop describing everything in the room. I love these books but I have to skip over pages and pages of rooms being described. Worse than Steven King. Plus she's constant making the characters say "hm?" Which is a very direct way of saying you don't know how to write your characters emotions.

I'm glad I've continued with this series. The stories and writing seem to get better and better. Book 3 had a lot of surprises in it that you could not have guessed in Book 2. But even though the end was a little predictable, it was well written. Can't wait to start the next one!

I thought I would die! The only thing I saw coming was Chey's fate ... Otherwise it was just chaos, especially when the book began to recall "the man with the iron mask" ... But my conclusion is that this book is wonderfully complex and likeable!

BETTER AND BETTER

I’m not really sure how this author does it. Here is a series of books that you really could stop at every single book. Every single book has so much drama and intrigued in it and a happy ending at the end of each book.

Okay, so in Heir Untamed I lusted over Sander's ruggedness; in King and Kingdom I swooned over his charismatic charm and Princely control; and in Heir in Exile I fell in love with it all! He's not afraid to take control, get dirty, or be a lover...and it has you in a battle of emotions over this guy the entire time!

Heir in Exile was a great step up from King and Kingdom. As I said in the previous review, I was a little disappointed with the character background development and what felt to be a loss of the characters original personalities that I loved so much in Heir Untamed. Book 3 brought all that love back and then some!

Questions that I had from the beginning of the series were sort of answered (I'm still wondering about a "minor" detail) and a sneaking suspicion that I had was in fact right ;)

This installment brought a lot of action and drama to the plate. It definitely keeps the pages turning and the excitement rolling. More of the suspense and mystery factor from book 1 was brought into this as well. I really enjoyed that part as it was the main reason I got into the series to begin with.

I still have questions over Princess Natalia...she just comes off as a scathing witch and there's no elucidation as to why she thinks the World owes her so much. I don't mind having characters that I passionately dislike (okay, I hate!!), but I like to at least have more of an understanding or reason as to why I hate them so much! She's just got a smart mouth, is self entitled, arrogant, ignorant, conceited....the list could go on and on...but I have no understanding as to why she so vehemently spits poison at everyone.

The writing is improved in Heir in Exile as well. Granted, I haven't noticed much in the way of grammatical errors or annoying phrasing and I rated it about 4 stars before. But it has improved in word choices. The overuse of some words was really starting to grind on me in the first book. Thankfully Ms. Bourdon stayed away from "masculine" descriptions in book 2 and virtually eliminated it in book 3. I mean seriously, if a 6"3' powerhouse of a man who is a direct heir to the thrown does anything to you, of course it's going to be masculine! No need to describe his every being as that!

As always the dialog is witty and we finally get to see some heated debates start between quite a few people. This was a nice change because for most of the first two books, while there were some exchanges, they seemed to fizzle out or end with someone taking the high road and leaving the confrontation. We don't want that now do we?! Of course not, we want someone to loose their control and fight...maturely I might add...and this definitely delivers. The passion of every character about set my kindle on fire ;)

A couple of my favorite lines:
"What matters is that you completely disobeyed me--"
"Don't talk to me about obeying. I'm not a dog."

"I'm angry. Don't mistake my control for indifference."

"You take a great many risks, brother," Mattias said into the quiet.
"Doesn't it take many risks to become great?" Sander asked.

Ever since I discovered the Latvala Royals series I've been captivated by the characters and writing of Danielle Bourdon.
"Heir in Exile" is another great installment in the exciting quest for love between Chey Martin and Prince Dare.

Prince Dare or Sander has asked Chey to marry him. She has accepted but they both have decided to keep their engagement a secret. Meanwhile, the King continues to show his ire with his eldest son by plotting against him. He arranges for another kidnapping. This time he wants to send Sander into exile and turn Chey over to the hands of human traffickers. Of course they did not expect Mattias to intervene.

Sander is not without means and will do anything to protect his people and Chey. Unfortunately, the totals have major secrets that if revealed will upset everything the people of this small country have come to know. It will take the combined efforts of Chey, Sander and Mattias if there us to be a positive ending. But, someone will not make it out alive. The question is who will it be?

Once again this series has ensnared me from the start due to the intrigue and mystery. However, if I am truly to be honest, I believe it is now time for Sander and Chey's story to take a back seat in the series while allowing Mattias to have several books dedicated to his story. Additionally, while I would loosely call this series a romantic thriller, I wish Ms. Blurring would include more sex in the books. Although it is hinted at constantly it us virtually non existent. Thus my reasoning for the 4.5 stars.

I definitely believe thus series is a truly exciting romantic thriller and so does the author otherwise she would not be offering book one for free on amazon. com. She knows if you read it you will become hooked like the rest of her adoring fans. So, shop stalling and get started on a truly enjoyable reading adventure.

I really enjoyed this one. More intrigue, more twisty plot points. Angst. Romance. What more could you want. I will say this though,

I am still enjoying this series enough to want to continue on. I'm not sure what more could happen antagonist-wise with the ending of this book, but I'm still interested.

Reread? Probably
