Maddie Jacobs must be crazy. At least that’s what her mother thinks. Professionally, she’s confident and secure; personally, she’s a hot mess. Not even a marriage proposal from a man who adores her can quell her search for something more.
In need of an escape, Maddie flees to Key West’s most southern island, Bella Key, to rest and recharge at Casa Bonita. She almost gives up on weekend retreat when the Bed & Breakfast is closed for repairs until Sunny Rojas, the inn owner, extends an offer of friendship, sweet tea and a room. Still reeling from a breakup with her longtime partner, Sunny is thankful for the diversion from her own broken heart.
The arrival of a fierce storm forces the women’s emotional journey to a head and leads them into each other’s arms. But can Maddie throw her hangups to the wind and go with her heart? The magic of Bella Key teaches her that passion cannot be placed neatly into boxes labeled right and wrong, because love knows no boundaries.

Today's review is on Bella Key by Scarlet Chastain
Though I'm not really a girl on girl type of chick, the voyeur in me won out, and I have to say that I was a bit turned on by Bella Key.
I have always been a firm believer in the fact that the written word trumps TV, movies, and video's. For instance, watching porn may turn you on but it leaves nothing to the imagination.
When I read a book all of my senses come into play. I can smell the ocean, I can hear the rain, I can feel the caress, and I can picture everything playing out in my head. Now that; in the case of erotic books, leaves me hot and heavy.
I have read a lot of erotic pieces and had the opinion that all should have hot and descriptive sex. Now, with the help of this non de plume author, I have a better understanding between the erotic genre and erotica genre. As she said, "The beauty of erotic romance (versus erotica) is varying heat levels. Some stories warrant a fierce thunderstorm complete with lightning bolts, others require a rain shower." Bella Key is one that requires the rain shower.
Maddie Jacobs seems to have it all. She has a great job and the perfect boyfriend. But no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Though she knows that her boyfriend totally adores her and he treats her like a princess, there's just no spark and she doesn't really know why.
Between her mother's constant reminders about her biological clock and the proposal of marriage from her boyfriend she realizes that it's just to much. Her fight or flight instincts kick in and she "runs away". On a whim, Maddie decides to head to Bella Key for the weekend. Little did she know that this spur of the moment decision would forever change her life.
Once she's at Bella Key, Maddie heads out in search of a place to stay. After a quick check on the internet she decides to stay at Sunny's Bed and Breakfast only to find that it's closed awaiting repairs to the A/C.(Living on an island myself I can relate to "everything being slow, including the workers.") All is not lost however, she is offered to stay free of charge by Sunny herself.
The two women become fast friends and Maddie is given the chance to explore and experience her attraction to other women.
Though I have never read anything written by this non de plume author, I'm heading over to Amazon to check out her other books in the erotica genre. If this tickled my fancy I can only imagine what the others will do to me.
I have never been a huge lover of short stories/novellas. They tend to leave me wanting something more….
Saying that, I have been reading some good short stories lately at the recommendations from some of my GR friends. My interest perked up when I saw that it was a f/f erotic romance –it’s pretty hard finding great books in that genre……
I liked the synopsis and I was looking forward to start reading. Bella Key – great title - is a well-written, fun, sweet, quick and easy to read f/f romance story. A lot is quickly crammed into the not so many pages that have an interesting storyline, with some fascinating and quirky characters in a beautiful setting.
I was hoping for more character development –I found Maddie very likeable and a fun person but somehow felt no connection to Sunny. The emotional connection between Sunny and Maddie just didn’t feel real to me. What, in a space of 2 days Maddie realizes she’s attracted to women!!! I would have preferred to see more of a build-up in Maddie’s trepidation in exploring her new-found sexuality and feelings for Sunny. I know it’s difficult to do with the pages available but I wanted a bit more depth in the relationship. The plot pace felt rushed – so many things happening in such a short time. What made Bella Key a place like it was? What was the magic? I wanted to learn more about Maddie and Sunny – and just as I was getting into the story…yes, THE END!!!
Overall, Bella Key was one of the better f/f novellas that I have read and I would definitely want to read more of this author’s work.
If you like a sweet and lovely romance with some sexy scenes and fab settings, get this book.
A special thanks to Scarlet Chastain for providing this book in return for an honest review Rating: **** 4 out of 5 stars Read more of this review and others @The Book Wranglers
This is the first book I've read by Scarlet Chastain and the first F/F I've read. I know, I know you all are probably thinking how am I just reading a F/F especially if all I read is 'all things romance'. Okay, so you got me. I have to say that this hot little read was just really good. If you're looking for a quick romance with some pretty steamy scenes and likable characters then pick this book up.
Our main lady Maddie is a runner, or at least she has been up until recently. While she's down in Florida for business she decides that she needs a much needed vacation and decides to extend her trip for a long weekend. Working long hours and recently leaving behind a very enthusiastic ex-boyfriend wanting a reprieve have Maddie throwing caution in wind in order to gather her thoughts.
When she stumbles across Casa Bonita, a quaint little B&B in Bella Key, she jumps at the opportunity to escape and relax for a few days. The last thing Maddie expects is to react to Sunny, the owner of Casa Bonita, the way she does. Butterflies, blushing, and daydreaming are just some of symptoms that Sunny brings out in Maddie. The exotic dark-haired beauty brings out a side of Maddie she didn't think she'd ever act on, until now. As the two woman relax and get to know one another it becomes clear that there is a serious connection that neither has experienced with anyone before. They slowly take the plunge for the unknown and are both pleasantly surprised at what they find. On the island of Bella Key anything can happen, there are endless possibilities as long as you think outside the box, and the greatest part... No judgement.
The Best Thing: Well I like that although this was a short story the characters were not lacking in any way, the story didn't drag or rush me through any scenes, and the sex that took place didn't seem forced or overly erotic considering the F/F aspect. The was a good level of intimacy that was always present in the story that made the women seem relatable creating a connection with the reader.
The Worst Thing: I guess there's not really a 'worst thing', I really enjoyed the storyline, I just wished I could have had a little more story. Of course if I'd had more story than it probably wouldn't have been a short;) Overall: a good read!
A very romantic story of a woman who took a detour while returning from a business trip to “get away from it all” and her hostess at the bed and breakfast at which she stayed. Maddie needed to not only relax after her business trip, she was also troubled by her questioning of her own desires and identity. Sunny is the hostess and gives a wonderful history of Bella Key.
During the stay, Sunny and Maddie discover their true feelings for each other and engage in some very tender and passionate lovemaking. These scenes are written well – steamy enough to arouse the reader and romantic enough to illustrate the love felt between the two characters.
This story had all the elements I love for a good erotic romance story – love you can feel between the characters, characters that are realistic, and steamy sex scenes. An excellent read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Did I skim? No
Did I feel connected to the characters? Yes. I loved the character of Maddie, as she came to the island to get away from everything. At times, we all need the type of relaxation she did. The self-discovery of her sexuality was also wonderfully portrayed.
Sunny and Jules were also nice characters, as Sunny really helped Maddie with both of the aforementioned needs of Maddie and Jules was just funny!
Pace of the story: Excellent. Never bogged down and was the right pace for a short story.
Positives: In addition to loving the character of Maddie, I felt that this was written well. Short stories are trickier because the author cannot waste words and must get to the matter quickly. That was done with this story without it feeling rushed. I enjoyed everything about this book. It could be a longer story, but because it was written so well as a short story, I didn’t feel like something was missing.
Negatives: No glaring weaknesses were to be found. If there is one to be found, I would have liked to learn more about Sunny. Since the story was about Maddie, that was the focus.
Do I recommend? YES! For anyone who likes f/f romance stories, with a big part being the romance. I felt the tenderness and connection between Sunny and Maddie while reading this.
Serendipity rescues one harried public relations whiz when she cannot re-schedule her flight from Miami back home. One “sign” leads to another “portent” and she finds herself taking an unexpected holiday in Bella Key of the Florida Keys. I could feel myself unwinding right alongside our harried whiz and that is just the beginning. It was easy and delightful to become enveloped within this wonderfully friendly, secretly seductive, and magically transforming small piece of paradise.
Madison, Maddie for short, is on the fast track within M&J Public Relations. She grabbed a promotion and relocation out of NYC, NY to Portland, OR escaping several problems. She felt relief and exhilaration but also some holes within her world and her heart. Now, a small vacation seemed warranted and doable.
Soledad, Sunny for short, runs the B&B Casa Bonita in Bella Key. Her place is temporarily closed, but Sunny strikes a clever bargain with Maddie. That was just the first of Sunny’s artful suggestions and arrangements. She was priceless.
This is a beautiful and heartwarming story of a perfectly marvelous vacation spot with very special people. The intimate interludes are gently unraveled. The heat and intensity rises quickly, but it was a short vacation. I couldn’t find “Bella Key” anywhere within the Florida Keys, and I looked because I really wanted to be there. That is how good this story was for me and I heartily recommend it.
NOTE: This book was provided by Evernight Publishing for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.
As if my husband didn’t already think I had lesbian tendencies! Oh boy. I read this and was like, Oh shit, I’m so lesbian right now. Lesbianist, (a Kait & I saying for Let’s be honest) I’ve always been someone who can appreciate the female body. Face it - no matter what, as women we are beautiful, mysterious, and powerful creatures.
As much as I enjoyed this novella/short story I have to say that I really wish it were longer. I knew going into this that it was a short story, but this could definitely be the start of an amazing book. Although I wanted more, I was still 100% satisfied with the entirety and conclusion that Scarlett gives to the reader. Even though it has a definitive ending, you can still give the two leading ladies a beautiful “after” story, if you know what I mean.
Characters were phenomenal, imagery was beautiful, and the writing was fantastic. Even though it was a novella, I never once felt the author was rushing things to get a point across. The scenes were deliberate and well thought out. All in all, if you’re looking for a quick read, that’s packed with steamy and amazing escapades, this is the story for you! I will say, this was my first female/female perspective on a lovers and I couldn’t be more pleased. Scarlett has opened me up to a whole new world of sizzling hot reads, and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.
From the first line I was swept away by this sweet story. The characters are charming and the setting will make you believe you're on vacation too. Maddie wants to get away and have a real vacation. Instead of waiting to plan something, she takes a detour on her way home from a business trip. From there, the story will simply romance you.
The sexual tension is sweet and exciting and the side characters are entertaining. I was completely charmed by Maddie and Sunny's story and I felt the vulnerability Maddie showed as she put herself out there. I very much enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the next Scarlet Chastain book.
It's a fun and sexy read. Not to be missed.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.
This was another wonderful story. I am now a Scarlet Chastain fan for sure! I love her writing style and how she describes the characters and the scene. I could see the characters in my head and I feel like I would know that house if I was driving by. My only complaint is that I now have to wait for this awesome author to write more stories.
I'm trying to figure out how to write this review and can I tell you that it ain't easy? I'm giving this one 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed it. A lot. Does that mean I'm "into" women?? Just kidding! Let me give you some details and then I'll tell you why this was a great book!
First off, two warnings. 1.) This is a F/F erotic romance. Not a single penis in sight. And holy crap, it's really pretty hot! 2.) This is also a novella (approx 75 pages). Ugh. I hate novellas and this one is the reason why... I WANT MORE!!!!!
I thought that Bella Key started off like any other romance. You see your heroine and immediately like her. For me, this was true because I totally understood Maddie and her feeling about the Miami heat. Well, not so much MIAMI heat but living in South Carolina, I have a good idea of how miserably hot it was for her, especially since she lives in Portland, Oregon!! Maddie was in Miami for a business trip and it was her incredibly apt description of the suffocating humidity that had me identifying with her right from the start! Sure, I know I should be used to the heat and humidity of the Midlands and Low Country but I'm not and I just don't see it happening. Heat is hotter down here, dammit! LOL! Anyway, back to the book (hello!). So Maddie is a smart, career oriented woman who is having a bit of a problem. I wouldn't say she's having a meltdown, per say, but she does decide to take a quick trip down to the Florida Keys instead of getting on her scheduled flight and going home. That's the other reason I warmed up to Maddie so fast: I really wish I could do that... just on a whim, decide to blow off my flight, rent a car and see where the day takes me. First, I do NOT have the guts to do that and second, I really do not have the funds to do that! LOL! But it sounds like so much fun. Just to have an adventure by yourself, to calm down, to relax and regroup. Ahhhh, sounds perfect!
Once Maddie reaches Bella Key, she meets Sunny. I really liked Sunny too! Sunny seemed effortlessly cool and who doesn't want to be that?? Also, she let's Maddie use her restroom, even though her B&B is closed, which I think makes her a saint! Have you ever been to a tourist-y type area and tried to use a non-public bathroom? Yeah, right! You'd think you were trying to poop on the front lawn with the way some people act!! So Sunny is the owner of this B&B that Maddie was hoping to stay in. But Sunny thinks Maddie seems pretty great and they make a deal that allows Maddie to stay if she cooks while she's there. Sounds like a great plan to me! I liked how trusting Sunny was but at the same time, it sort of seemed like Sunny was just one of those people that has a natural talent for reading other people. She can talk to you for a few minutes and just kind of knows what you need and what kind of person you are. I think she'd make a great shrink! LOL!
So the author does this great job of introducing the two main characters in a way that has you liking them without realizing that you like them. At least, that's how it went down for me. I had only a couple of issues (other than it being WAY too short). First, the reason that Sunny's B&B is closed is that the A/C is not working. Well, its not that it isn't working but more that it isn't working well enough for "some" people. I get that we have to have a reason for Sunny and Maddie to be there alone but I thought this was a little strange. Especially since it seemed like it was the end of the busy season for Sunny anyways? And it didn't seem like it was uncomfortably warm for either of the women in any case. But it wasn't a huge big deal for me. Second, there's this scene where Maddie spies on Sunny when Sunny is having... umm, let's say that Sunny is having some Sunny Time, ok? I thought this scene seemed out of place and maybe a teensy bit gratuitous. Not a lot but I found myself thinking, "What the heck was THAT for?" On the other hand, it was a pretty hot scene so I didn't mind it all THAT much after all! LOL!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It may be a little risque for some due to the F/F romance involved but come on, we're all adults here, right? And to each their own. I'm a happily married woman (for the most part!) and I found this novella to be seriously hot! Having said that, it's not in your face or trying to make a political statement so just calm down and step off your soap box. Relax, ok? The SexyTime scenes between Sunny and Maddie were pretty tame. If one of them was replaced with a man, I doubt this would be considered erotic romance. Not even a little bit. So it's not like crazy, out-there with the lesbian sex or anything. I think it's a great little F/F romance that would be a perfect start for someone who was interested in going outside the M/F romances and interested in trying something different. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes novellas and wants to read something other than the same old, same old.
When Maddie decides to do something very unlike her and skip her flight back home from a business trip and instead take time off of work and go on a vacation on the fly to Bella Key, she never knew it would change her life forever. Maddie loves her job, but she is running away from her personal problems of a mother who keeps reminding her of her "biological clock" and a man who would love nothing more than to marry her but she feels nothing for. When she finds Sunny's Bed and Breakfast, which looked so good online, is closed she is disappointed, but willing to move on....after she asks Sunny if she can use her bathroom that is, it's been a long ride with lots of caffeine. Sunny senses something in Maddie and ends up asking her if she wants to stay anyway at her B&B, as long as she doesn't mind the kink of no air conditioning which is why she closed up in the first place. Maddie stays and falls in love with Bella Key...all of it...the view, the people, the weather, and maybe even someone she shouldn't fall in love with. Can Maddie overcome her fears of love and who she should love? Who really is the "right" person to love? Shouldn't it be about the feeling of love and not who the person is?
I absolutely loved this book! I was unsure going into it how I would feel about it or how I would like it, being it is not my "usual" read, but I am very glad I decided to give this book and author a chance!! Most erotic romance books are all about the erotic love scenes, but this one was different. It had those scenes, don't get me wrong, but they were done with more tact than others I have read. Also, the book was not only about the erotic scenes, but also had a point to the plot. It was very well written and very well expressed. Most erotic reads you get the erotic scenes and maybe a plot, but hardly any character development. I know that's not what they may be read for usually, but it is nice to have those things. This author seemed to really get this and did a fantastic job with it! There was a plot that made sense, there were characters whom I came to love, and there was the eroticness to the read too that you would expect from an erotic read. I just loved everything about this book! Great job to the author and I hope to read more of your work in the future!! Perhaps even more with these same characters down the line? Hint hint. :-)
This is such cute, well-written and erotic story and it gave me the warm fuzzies all over. You know when you meet someone and you immediately feel so comfortable that none of the usual first meeting guarding comes up? You feel very relaxed and as if whatever you do or say will be fine, you can be yourself? This is the kind of relationship that Maddie and Sunny have. I loved it!
The whole set up on how these two women meet and why Maddie would be there was totally believable and didn’t feel contrived. Right away the women are very comfortable with each other, easily chatting and acting as if they’ve known each other for years.
Maddie comes across as someone who is somewhat vulnerable even though she has a high powered job. She wants to end it with the “perfect” guy on paper and just wants a few days to chill and think things over.
Sunny is a warm, friendly person who welcomes Maddie with open arms, making her feel at ease right away. And she calls Maddie Chica in an endearing and familiar way even though she’s just met her, which I liked. She also doesn’t shy away from being who she is, letting Maddie know that her last partner was a woman when it comes up in conversation.
Even though they’ve just met, the women slip into a sweet sexual thing like right away. But it was written realistically from both POVs. Maddie doesn’t angst about her first time with a woman, but also doesn’t feel totally comfortable as it’s something new for her. All those thoughts about ramifications do run through her head. Sunny lets her figure it out without putting anything on her about it even though she wants her to stay and wants to keep something going.
Even better was that these two women work things out pretty quickly without a bunch of drama. There’s something so refreshing about two people clicking and simply enjoying each other without the usual awkward uneasiness about what’s going on and so on.
Just also wanted to say that for such a short story, it’s a perfect package. The writing, the pacing of the story, how it starts, how it ends, it’s very feel good. And it’s sexy!
Heat Level- 3- sensually written, but not too graphic-- sex scenes
Okay so on the recommendation of this wonderful author I read Bella Key after I read Little Black Dress. Little Black Dress was a great book introduction book and Bella Key was a little more detailed. Overall it was still a great book. When we first meet Maddie she's very consumed in her work. But you can see she's crashing and burning. Running from a man who wants to marry her, her mother thinks she's crazy and she's sort of lost. So she decides to take a mini vacation away from everything and the perfect little place to escape is Bella Key (after reading this book I want to escape to Bella Key).
As Maddie pulls up into a Bed and Breakfast she has to pee. However, she finds out quickly that the B&B is closed for repairs. She ends up running into Sunny and asks if she can use the bathroom before she leaves. Sunny and Maddie talk for a few minutes and it ends up that Sunny tells her she can stay the weekend at the B&B. In talking Maddie finds out that Sunny has recently broken up from a relationship with her girlfriend and Maddie gives some of her story. The next day they head out to the beach to hang out and meet some people and Maddie gets the surprise of her life. Beyond that there are some questionable feelings that come up for Maddie and she begins to question a lot in her life. This book was a little more graphic than Little Black Dress, but didn't over do it or make it too much to handle....it was just the right fit.
Even though this was a quick read it still head my attention from the beginning. I wanted to know what path Maddie would follow because she questioned a lot of things. She took some risks and opened up about things and also made some not so wise decisions. Will she be able to figure out what she wants before its too late? Does she want to be with Sunny? Does Sunny want to be with her? What will her future hold? All those questions are answered in this book. Make sure to check it out.

A quick, easy, and breezy read, Bella Key is a warm, sexy, emotional, and heartfelt romance. When Maddie takes a quickie vacation to Bella Key, she has no idea that her life is about to change forever, and her secret fantasies are about to come true.
Chastain does a beautiful job of creating the chemistry between two women. There’s an easy friendship and connection, tinged with plenty of sexual longing and desire. It isn’t long before Maddie and Sunny act on their growing feelings for one another, resulting in beautifully written, sensual and passionate love scenes.
The story itself is entertaining and engaging, with a dash of humor, plenty of romance, and just enough conflict: brought on by Maddie’s questioning of her own desires and sexual identity. The setting is beautiful and magical, a place where people go to find contentment and their true selves. People like famous romance author Jules Quigley, whose character I absolutely adore, and just so happens to hold the key to Sunny and Maddie’s future. A lovely HEA tops off a story to be enjoyed by all romance fans.
” ‘Feelings and emotions can’t always be placed neatly in little boxes. Straight and gay are simply labels we place upon ourselves. Happiness is what we all strive for. Open your mind to what and who makes you happy.’ “
*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I really enjoyed this story. It is a great read about a woman who is at a sort of crossroads in her life. Needing to make changes but not sure what direction to take. I think we can all relate to that. I wish all my spur of the moment decisions turned out as well as they did for Maddie. There is plenty packed into this wonderful short story. I really felt like we got a sense of who the characters were and of course the setting played a big part. This taste of the ongoing party-like atmosphere of the Keys is making me want to take a vacation. I felt like I was about to step on the beach while reading.
The romance between Sunny and Maddie was a joy to experience. I was rooting for them. All the uncertainty of making life changing decisions was right there on the pages. I think what really made this story, besides the main couple of course, were the added little details of life on the Keys and the delightful addition of a character named Jules. Even in a short story like this, I really felt like I was part of the community and there was Jules. The perfect addition to create a much needed catalyst to help some people make some decisions. Plus he was just awesome. I can't explain it, other than great writing, but he really struck me.
After I got done reading, I was amazed at how much story was packed into this Romance on the Go. I have to say, that in the past, I have not been a huge fan of short stories but I have long since changed my tune. Ms. Chastain, and other wonderful Evernight authors, have proven: done right, a short story can be just as satisfying to read as a longer novel.
synopsis: maddie finishes her business earlier than she had thought, so she took a mini-vacation. she decides to stay at a b&b, but when she gets there, it's closed because the a/c isn't working. maddie asks to use the bathroom, and ends up staying there, even without the a/c. she's running away from the "perfect" guy, who she isn't attracted to at all. sunny, the proprietess of the b&b, is very attractive to her. maddie fights her attraction, and even leaves after acting on the attraction, but a tropical storm sends her back where she belongs.
what i liked: the premise. i liked what i got to know about maddie and sunny.
what i didn't like: that it was so short. the characters were as well developed as they could be for a 16 page story, but if it had been longer, it would have been so much better. also, this takes place in florida, during the summer. when sunny is telling maddie that she can stay, she asks where she's from, and when maddie says "oregon", sunny says something to the effect of "well, you won't complain about there being no air conditioning." did i miss something here? because there is a HUGE longitudinal difference between oregon and florida, and in spite of oregon maybe being humid, the heat would be NOTHING the same. not to mention the fact that maddie had only lived in oregon for a couple of months, max, but i think it was more like a couple of weeks. before that, it was new york, which, while it gets hot, again, can't compare to florida.
This was really fun. The friendship and chemistry between Maddie and Sunny is adorable and even the secondary character Jules was just a hoot. Besides the characters, the writing alone was great with a wonderful balance of storyline to romance. It’s a short read, and yet we still get a sense of who the characters are, what they’re about, and feel the sparks blossom between our two leading ladies.
I will say I would have liked to see a little more of the closure on a few things in Maddie’s life that are addressed as well as gotten to know a little more about Sunny’s history since we focus mostly on Maddie throughout the story. That being said, the entire book is compelling and endearing.
Bella Key is a sweet and sensual romance about accepting one’s self and living one’s own life instead of fitting into some mold. It’s a read that will have you wanting to take a Florida vacation to the Keys!

A short very sweet f/f original erotic romance that left me wanting more in the very best of ways. Bella Key is a very realistic and classily written erotic romance that’s a definite must read for all fans of the genre.
The pressure is on for Maddie. It always is. Between work, her personal life and her mother’s constant reminders of life and the ticking clock. She needs a break! Being spontaneous and just going for it she decides on a mini vacation where she meets Sunny. The sweet and sexy B&B owner and has a blast. She’s also made a couple of new and exciting discoveries which I’ll keep to myself. You all are just going to have to read to find out :)
Scarlet Chastain is off to a great start in her writing career. She created some very likeable characters and settings with an original and entertaining story. I plan to keep my eyes open for more of her work.
First let’s be clear this is a novella and approximately 75 pages in length. The positive side of that is that it’s a nice easy read that can be completed during a lunch break, or two. The downside, you might be left wanting more. Typically I am not a huge fan of erotica but the sex scenes in this story are very well written and didn’t feel forced.
Then there is the quirky yet likable character of Sunny who brings out the adventurous side of Maddie while essentially reminding her that what happens in Bella Key stays in Bella Key.
Despite the brevity of the story I found that I was satisfied with the ending and didn’t feel as if I was let down or something was missing. I would recommend this to anyone who has a couple of hours that they want to fill, preferably while sitting on the beach or beside the pool.
Bella Key is a beautifully written story; Maddie decides she needs a vacation and heads to Bella Key where she meets Sunny.
The main characters were interesting and engaging, once the two met I was on edge waiting to see how things would play out. For a short story the flow was steady and made me want more.
Short read and not the best writing, but better than a lot of the f/f out there. Really felt that the Sunny character saying "chica" so much was ridiculous to the point of eye-rolling when I read it.
