(Book 4 in the Eriksson Series)Helen Eriksson finds herself baffled by what initially appears to be a rather open-and-shut investigation, but is anything but when her presumed hate crime motive is decimated by two victims who don't in any way fit the original profile. Or do they?
Sygnet was a mastermind of schoolyard schemes as a child who grew into someone who channeled that inner criminal onto the pages of books. In the real world, the profession is nursing, psychiatric variety.
Devoted to family, friends and dogs in middle age, Sygnet spends most spare time plotting fiction, reading obsessively or playing with her four-legged children – the dogs.
Sygnet is a rabid NBA fan and loves the elliptical when the plot gets elusive. Nothing like endorphins to light the path. When endorphins fail, speed metal usually does the trick. Sygnet can often be found muttering over Pages on the iMac or the iPad, where most of the writing takes place.
This book was to emotional, in fact most the books in the series so far have been an emotional roller coaster. This series is a great one though and it has me captivated with what is going to happen next. I can't put the books down.
Helen is finally getting off my annoying list, as I think she is finally waking up to what is important and letting people in. I am still having my doubts that she will end up staying though. Hopefully she will make the correct decision.
The rest of the gang in this book is awesome, Devlin is becoming one of my new favorites!! Briscoe is pulling at my last string of dealing with, his attitude is getting a little out of hand. The three mystery bad people is driving me crazy on trying to figure out who they are. Just when I thought I might have it, something happens and I am at the beginning again, lol.
Devlin dares Helen to attend a New Years Eve rock concert with him to help her keep her mind off Johnny. Right after Helen admitted she loved him, Johnny lost his memory of the last six months including his time with her. As they wait for the headline band to perform, the off duty detectives get a call to go backstage where they discover an amplifier filled with blood. Thus begins a horrendous case of sex-bias murders, or is it? Too many possibilities and the distraction of dealing with their relationship may be sidetracking Helen and Johnny's work on the case.
Can't get enough of this series! I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a good mystery/thriller. I took a chance on the first book "Daddy's Little Killer" when I saw that it was free on my nook and I am so glad that I did!
