This started off super promising. A 911 operator with a troubling past and a hunky cop who have known each other forever, reunite. But with the addition of a stalker… the first half of this book felt solid to me, it was good build up of Zoeys past history being brought to light. But the ending fell so flat to me. It was super rushed feeling and anti climatic with the stalker. I also felt like I needed more connection somewhere whether in the past or present to make the love feel a little more natural.
Also saying the characters name almost every time they spoke was a little much. But that could be buffed out before release date.
I hate that I put myself into this situation where I have to write the first and (who knows for how long) only review of a book, and a debut one at that, and not being able to give it more than two stars. My conscience is kicking me in the butt right now.
Disclaimer: I didn't read the entire book. I skimmed. A lot. For reasons listed below. So please take this review with a grain of salt - as you always should.
See, the idea was alright - I wouldn't have picked it up if I didn't think so. A stalker who keeps harrassing a smalltown police dispatcher and blackmailing her into revealing her dirty secrets... sounds fun, right? Unfortunately, it really wasn't. The thing is, I even sorta, kinda liked those scenes at the Police station when the bad guy called, even though I could've done without the flashbacks detailing all those events that took place years ago. Everything else, though... meh. Zoey's relationship with Jack was cheesy af, and her inner ramblings about how good he was and how terrible she was, and how she didn't deserve him got on my nerves quickly. Some of the secondary characters felt more like cartoon characters than real people. But what annoyed me the most was all the freaking name-calling. If I ever have to read the names Zoey and Jack again, I might combust. Seriously, there were times when Jack said Zoey's name TWICE in one sentence! Stop it already! And yes, I know this is an ARC and I HOPE TO GOD an editor will fix this before the book gets released, but come on, don't you read your own books? I just couldn't take it anymore. Awkward writing is one of my biggest pet-peeves, and I got peeved good!
All that being said, I want to end this review on a positive note. I really liked Jack, and I loved that he didn't judge Zoey for her messy past. In another book, he might've even had the chops to become a new favorite of mine.
ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Zoey and Jacks story is a wild ride while trying to keep Zoey safe and also trying to figure out who the caller is. Her Every Secret was an easy read and I enjoyed the twists and turns throughout. Not mind-blowing but definitely by no means terrible either. A very decent debut novel
I thought the premise was really interesting, it’s a thriller and it did not disappoint, the story is told in dual POV and goes around timelines, between the past and the present, as it unfolds.
For me, Zoey's character was a little too much and annoying. But she is a very realistic character of a woman who suffered domestic violence and co-dependency. The way Zoey deals with her pain and trauma is very realistic to me; she blocks out memories that were too painful, zoning out and pushing the good away because she doesn't think she deserves it.
Jack was my favourite character, I loved that he didn't judge Zoey for her messy past and the plot twist at the end with him was really good!
Things that I didn't like:
I wish her secrets would have been revealed in a more drastic and shocking way during the book, it all happens in the first part with the phone calls, but I’d have liked to read more drama ( maybe everyone receives a link to the porn website with her vídeo, credit card statements with her fraud scattered around the city, etc). All we have is her talking on the phone, Jack and the sergeant listening to the calls after, yet the stories spread around town, how?! Didn’t make much sense to me. There’s this chance her dead ex-boyfriend may be alive at a point but then we don’t have any more info regarding that plotline. The final part with the stalker “Ned” was super rushed and very anti-climatic
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers with a touch of spice but doesn’t expect some complex plot.
Synopsis: Zoey is a 911 dispatcher. When she answers a call the person on the phone knows her name. Knows her secrets. Says they've taken a little girl, and the only way to ensure her safety is for Zoey to start revealing her secrets.
2.5 stars (rounded up) Review: This book was a bit of a cluster. I really really wanted to enjoy this because I thought the premise was really interesting. Unfortunately, one of the biggest issues this book had was pacing. The beginning of the book is so front loaded with the phone calls and the secrets that the end of the book feels super slow. This book also suffers from the problem of smut for smut's sake when it didn't make sense for the plot or help the story along. It felt as though the author cared more about getting spice and smut into the story than developing the characters. Overall, this book had a really cool premise but suffered from poor execution, both too fast and too slow pacing, and too much focus on spice, not characters.
I really enjoyed this one as I love "stalker" novels! Zoey is starting a new life as a 911 operator and is sleeping with her "boss," Jack when a call comes in from "Ned" who claims he's abducted young Madison from her bus stop and will only speak to her. Confused, Zoey agrees even though years ago she went through a similar incident and is still recovering and refuses to let any man into her heart. When it becomes evident that Ned is dead set on humiliating her for past infidelities, she realizes she must open and "cleanse" those wounds before she can ever truly love again. Yes, lots of sex but we need to see how emotionally unavailable she is at the beginning to truly appreciate real love. Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!
This book was sent to me from NetGalley for an honest review. I really hate giving low ratings n I really wanted to love it. Based on the blurb it just sounded so good. And I believe the story had good points.. the beginning was a mixture of current events and some sort of flashbacks of stuff that previously occurred.
About 1/2 way through reading it just became a bit for lack of better words stale. The dialogue was a bit weird and the constant repeated names kinda made me not want to finish even though I did. Someone else might enjoy it more
Very sweet story and very well written. Definitely kept me turning pages. The main character is definitely flawed but in a good way because it makes the romance relatable.
I found myself picking this book up every free moment I had, because I could not wait to hear what happened next! An entertaining romance thriller that I've recommended to many people already. Looking forward to more of this authors books in the future!📚

Oh me, oh my! Her Every Secret, was a doozy!!!
G.L. Redding has left my panties in a knot and begging for more.
Are my cheeks red?
In just under 300 pages, Her Every Secret, is INTENSE. This book is equal parts thriller as it is steamy romance and I was totally into it. What was even more shocking is the fact that this is a debut author! My mind is blown. The writing style was enjoyable, the chapters fluid and the storyline was tantalizing . I could not get enough!!!
Hot Cop?
Say no more.

This book was sent to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest rate and review.
Honestly I hate giving this rating and review as I was so excited to read this. The plot sounded fantastic and had the potential to be a 5 star for me however I found the structure of it to be clunky and not do the story justice for me. It was not clear where the timelines switched and how long ago those memories would have been, I found it so hard to work out the years of main character Zoey’s life due to this issue. I feel that more distinction between then and now would have elevated the experience of reading this.
Furthermore I did not feel that each plot point was developed enough.
SPOILER EXAMPLE - Zoe’s credit card fraud was mentioned and then not mentioned again until closer to the end. I wish her secrets would have been revealed through more drastic and shocking means e.g the sarge being emailed receipts from the stolen credit card spendings or her colleagues being sent the link to the porn website with her video in via anonymous number that cannot be tracked. This kind of thing would have made the secrets feel more real and threatening as they are revealed, and would have made the drama more high-stakes which is crucial for executing these types of plots well.
SPOILER OVER.
Character wise I really liked Jack but I did not feel particularly connected to any other character, I also wanted more delving into the other suspects instead of it being so easy to guess.
In terms of what I loved about this book, the writing was fun and engaging, I managed to read it very quickly and it definitely balanced thriller and romance together well which was so entertaining. There were definitely moments of suspense in the beginning, and I think the kidnapping storyline was the perfect way to introduce all the backstory of the main character. However I did see the original plot being lost a bit towards the end as the focus of the investigation changes.
P.S the cover is absolutely beautiful for a discrete book with spice in it.
Would definitely recommend for a quick pace read and for those who enjoy a HEA after an intense plot, but it’s not something I will be jumping to reread when it’s officially published later this year.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to read this and enjoyed my experience.
I feel awful, this is the first book I've read and finished and then to left a less than 3-star review.
It started so promising, a 911 dispatcher taking a call from a weird man admitting to wanting to kidnap a child and forcing Zoey to confess to her "crimes". I'm putting that in air quotes because she faces no consequences, making all her confessions seem worthless. I always push to finish ARC's but I've rarely struggled to finish one. The overuse of names is very apparent and I would advise it is corrected before publishing, seeing the names Zoey and Jack multiple times on the same page is tough reading. It has a HEA-type ending but it doesn't feel fitting for this book, the fact Jack overlooks everything she did, I get that he loves her but it feels like a "To Be Continued" type situation where they need to work out their issues. How can he love someone he knows nothing about except her problems?
Jack seemed to be written and portrayed a lot better than Zoey who I couldn't connect with at all, more backstory and character building would help this, other than the snippets we get from her confessions we don't really get much at all.
When the description of the book mentions the "Heart-wrenching storytelling of Colleen Hoover" and the "Addictive romance of Ana Huang" you would expect something that resembles that, but it doesn't the relationship between Zoey and Jack is cringy and I got no chemistry from them at all other than "It's good sex." There was nothing in this book that had me on the edge of my seat, I think pushing more consequences for her past crimes/confessions would help, the stalker sending proof of all her crimes and scandals to her boss or important people would be a start.
I really wanted to love this because the idea was there, but I just didn't and I feel terrible about it because it's a debut novel.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I typically read books in the suspense/thriller genre but the description of Her Every Secret hooked me, so I decided to read this romantic suspense novel.
Zoey is a 911 operator and receives a call from someone who has claimed to have kidnapped a young girl. The caller promises to let the girl go if Zoey reveals all her secrets. We soon learn that Zoey is his true target and the young girl that was kidnapped is being used for him to get to Zoey. The story begins with this suspenseful start and moves at a fast pace till nearly the midpoint. The suspense lessens when the focus shifts to the “b story”, the romance between Zoey and her close friend from high school, Jack. He is now a police officer and is investigating the kidnapper that has targeted Zoey. Narration flips between Zoey and Jack so we can see how both sides view the situation.
This is a tough book to review since it doesn’t fall neatly into a genre. It is classified as romantic suspense, and it certainly has elements of that, but romantic suspense novels typically follow the romance formula. This novel strays from that, which could cause some readers to be disappointed with the conclusion. Readers of thriller novels will be distracted by the amount of time spent on the romance portion of the book. It is also important to point out that there is a lot of sex, and some scenes are moderately spicy. I think many of the sex scenes are important since they help demonstrate how damaged Zoey was and the amount of growth that she needs to undergo in order to have a relationship with Jack. This book isn’t for anyone that doesn’t enjoy moderately spicy scenes.
This book is for readers who enjoy spicy romantic thrillers and who like books that don’t follow the typical formula. I believe there are many readers that will enjoy this one and as a result I have rated it four stars out of five.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advance review copy. All opinions are my own.

Great synopsis that intrigued me and made me hope this would be a great new steamy romantic suspense novel that would draw me in and keep me interested as I read. Instead, I found myself skimming quickly to find out how it would all work out and wishing that there was more. More character development, backstory, and information about the kidnapped girl.
Zoey Miller has a difficult past and made some rather poor decisions that come out as she reveals what the 911 caller is requiring for him to release an abducted young girl. Zoey tells each difficult event from her past peeling away what she had hoped would remain secret. Giving away those secrets here is not going to happen but they do explain why she is as she is.
Jack is on the police force in the town he and Zoey met long ago. He had a crush on her then, but his time was never right to be with her. He hopes this time they might find a happily ever after, though. When the kidnapping case overlaps with a stalker-ish rather threatening kidnapper, Jack is ready to protect and keep Zoey safe. The two seem to hit it off even after the secrets begin to emerge on the 911 calls.
This has a great premise and the writing flows. The flashbacks popped up unexpectedly and didn’t do so seamlessly leaving me feeling a bit of whiplash at times. I had trouble liking the main characters or seeing them together as a couple as I didn’t see what would draw them together beyond physical. Do they have values in common? Do they want a similar future? Will they want to stay in the small town or head back to the city? I ended up with more questions than answers and the ending seemed a bit unfinished or perhaps tacked on.
For a debut novel, this was done well. I feel the author will grow as she writes and would perhaps read another of her books in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Rufous Press for the ARC – this is my honest review.
First thought: Wow! This one takes you for a ride. It was a spicy Romance Thriller that twisted and turned until the end, with characters you will love and cheer for.
Zoey moved home to escape her past and pickup the pieces from the disaster she left behind. Her plans did not include running into her old best friend Jack who is now a full fledge hottie. But one thing led to another and 4months later she’s regretting her daily hookups with him. She won’t ever let another man in her life again, but she also doesn’t want to hurt him and Jack definitely wants more. So she walked out and ended things.
A few days later Zoey finds herself at work answering 911 dispatches when she gets a strange call, a man that knows who she is and it sounds like a prank call. But he calls back and the situation quickly escalate it isn’t a prank. He has kidnapped a child and will only communicate with Zoey. Zoey has no choice but to reach out to Jack for help as he is a police officer.
Jack runs to her aide but that’s where things go side aways. The caller only will share information about the girl he has abducted if Zoey shares her darkest secrets. He makes her relive the darkest moments of her past very publicy. She is forced to play along and she will do whatever it takes to save this child. While Jack is forced to come to terms with who Zoey really is.
This is a thriller and it did not disappoint, the story is told in dual POV and flops around timelines as it unfolds. It was truly captivating and the chemistry between Jack and Zoey was on point!
Tropes you’ll find:
* Dark Past * He Falls First * Close Proximity * Second Chance * Secrets * Spicy 🔥🔥🔥

.I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book! My only complaint was that I wish it was longer. I truly enjoy flawed characters.
Zoey thought she had escaped the past troubles of her life when she returned to her hometown, until one day in her job as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, she receives a call from someone who seems to want to expose all her secrets. Or rather, for her to expose them in exchange for a young girl’s life.
Jack has been in love with Zoey for years, but just recently got the opportunity to reconnect with her when she moved back to their hometown. Is this his real chance finally, or will a mysterious 9-1-1 call ruin all of that? Her every secret by G. L. Redding takes the thriller and romance genres and merges them together in her debut novel out this fall on 9/26.
I like the way this is a mix of a thriller and a romance. The author did a good job of making you care about the characters while still wondering what was going to happen to them in the end. I enjoyed the style of writing with flashbacks throughout the book that were related to what was going on in order to clue you in on Zoey’s background little by little.
Overall, I think this was a great debut novel, if not a bit too straightforward compared to what I’m used to reading. It did keep me hooked, though, and I look forward to seeing what’s next from G. L. Redding in the future!

Her Every Secret' was a romantic thriller that I enjoyed. I have read many thrillers in the last year and a lot of the storylines have similar aspects, but this book was different than anything I've ever read. The book kept me at the edge of my seat, and I was picturing it like a movie playing out the entire time. It was a fast paced read and I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know who the stalker was. I have seen some comments that Zoey's character was too much and annoying, but I found the author painted a great picture of a woman that suffered domestic violence and co-dependency. The way Zoey deals with her pain and trauma were quite spot on; the blocking out memories that were too painful, zoning out and pushing the good away because you don't think you deserve it. A healthy relationship after a hard one is tough, and it takes someone with patience to help you get through it and Jack was my favorite character for that reason. The only thing that was bothering me a bit was the name calling by the two main characters, I hope it gets edited in that sense before the book is released! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book by G.L. Redding. I loved the idea of it. The plot of someone stalking a 911 dispatcher is intriguing. It started off very strong. I couldn't put it down. Zoey getting calls from "Ned" who makes her go through horrible details of her past she would rather leave in the past, forget and naturally never share, especially with her new love and oldest friend. Jack seems like such a great guy who's incredibly supportive of Zoey and her angsty past. He puts her safety and life first on almost every page. Zoey doesn't believe she deserves him and fights an inner battle with every phone call. This was a thriller, romance. It was a super quick read. I couldn't put it down.
The only cons I have with it, was that I felt it was a bit rushed in places in the story line and some times I felt that the Zoey/Jack relationship was cheesy.
But I will recommend this quick read to thriller lovers out there.
Thank you to Netgalley, G.L. Redding and Rufous Press for the chance to read this ARC in return for an honest review. This opinion is my own and completely unbiased.

Her Every Secret Author: G. L. Redding ☆☆☆ E-ARC provided by NetGalley
What a unique plot! I was so excited by the first few chapters and enjoyed the way it would jump from present day during the crisis to the memories of the secrets that Zoey was revealing.
The relationship development between Zoey and Jack was well done and I loved how sweet Jack was in his understanding of her past trauma and how it affected her choices.
The plot of this story had so much potential, but I feel like the writing skill, or lack thereof, just didn’t do it for me. The overuse of some words (please find a synonym for slam), and phrases (how many times in one sex scene can she “feel the heat build in her core”) took away from the story. It also seemed a bit rushed and predictable. Especially the climax of the story, It was lacking in so much detail and could have been done so much better.
Overall, I don't regret reading it, it just started out so promising and then fell flat for me, so I wouldn't read it again and am not sure I'd really recommend it.
This book was sent to me by NetGalley to read and leave an honest review of my thoughts. I’m rating it 2.5 stars but rounding up to 3. I felt this book had great potential but was written a bit sloppy. There were things I liked about this book but had more things I didn’t like.
I really liked jacks character the most but felt that all the other characters needed more development. I did not feel that connection with them as I was reading, especially with Zoey.
There were some technical writing errors I noticed as I was reading so I really hope these get corrected. I know this is an ARC so I wasn’t expecting perfection when it came to grammar and punctuation.
Overall this wasn’t the worst book I have ever read. It was enjoyable but I won’t remember it in a couple months from now.
I am grateful to NetGalley for sending me this ARC to read and I had a great experience with it. Can’t wait for my next read.
I recently finished Her Every Secret by G.L Redding and I absolutely loved it! Redding did an incredible job of constructing and detailing adult scenes as well as creating psychologically manipulative and traumatized characters. The thought and planning that needed to go into this crime as well as the back story must have been extensive and it is obvious that Redding is a genius in that regard. I was hooked from the first page and it kept me engaged until the end - I didn't see the twist coming at all! I found Zoey relatable and Jack - you can't help but love him! I was on the edge of my seat anticipating what was going to happen next and the level of suspense mixed with the romance was perfect. This book is fast-paced and engaging, steamy, intense, twisted, mysterious/ominous, tense and emotional, and the perfect beach read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys psychological thrillers with a touch of spice!
This was a super easy & enjoyable read! Zoey works as an emergency dispatcher in her hometown, who has a mysterious past that unravels throughout the course of the book. She begins receiving 911 calls from an unknown stalker, who wants to use her past against her. Jack is her love interest and co-worker who stands by her side all throughout. Even as Jack learns all of her dark secrets along the way, he can't hold back the feelings he has always had for her. Zoey tries her hardest to keep her true feelings from Jack hidden, but with everything coming else coming up to the surface, how long can she keep them that way?
This was the right amount of thriller, and the right amount of romance - the steamy scenes were a plus! I would recommend picking this up if you enjoy something that isn't too deep and you just want a quick and easy read.
This book immediately drew me in! The thought and planning that needed to go into this crime as well as the back story must have been EXTENSIVE. Redding is certainly a genius in that regard. In addition, the spice mixed into this psychological thriller was a pleasant surprise! Redding has a knack for constructing and detailing adult scenes as well as creating psychologically manipulative AND traumatized characters. I have mixed feelings about the ending though—part of me wishes I didn’t read the last chapter and part of me enjoys a final twist. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that enjoys psychological thrillers with a touch of spice!!
Her Every Secret will be released September 26th—mark your calendars!!
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Rufous Press, and G.L. Redding for this advanced readers copy.
Debut authors are a sweet spot for me lately. Overall I feel this author has potential but the writing is still not hire as refined yet.
The author tells us the story of Zoey a 911 operator that moved from Chicago to a small town to escape her past. The beginning of the book tells about kidnapping of a young schools age girl named Madison that Zoey must save by interpreting the callers clues and talking about what he wants her to reveal about her past.
In my opinion the book has two tones, in terms of the 911 call and the afterward. There’s chasing down zoeys old flames to reveal if they have motive.
The ending was a twist because at first it seems too easy and then you see that there wasn’t one stalker. There’s one plot hole in this book but ultimately it wasn’t that important in the end. I think this author will get better in time however for now this was a good debut book.
Her Every Secret; a great debut novel by G. L. Redding
This mesmerizing book effortlessly blends suspense and steamy romance. It grabbed my attention and was captivated from the first page to the last. Its gripping plot is loaded with unexpected twists, striking a perfect balance between the thrill of a crime mystery and the intensity of a romance novel. Zoey and Jack are portrayed with remarkable depth, their emotional journey evoking empathy and keeping me intrigued throughout. The author's skillful weaving of suspense with a sensual narrative is truly commendable.
While the ending leaves one contemplating, it only enhances the book's overall allure. An outstanding read for fans of psychological thrillers with a romantic twist.
