Black Creek Burning is the first in the romantic suspense Black Creek Trilogy. Set in upstate New York, it’s a story about taking chances with your heart… and about family, trust and passion. Witnessing the murder of her parents was a brutal day for Brie Chapman. Learning her parents died in her place was almost unbearable. It took her years to overcome and move on as no suspects were found. Unknowingly, she ignites the dormant killer into coming back to finish the job. Nathan Reed moves in behind her with his two adorable nephews he’s raising as his own. He hadn't planned on falling in love and solving a murder. Patiently, he transforms Brie from an icy self-proclaimed independent into a woman willing to accept not only the help of a strong man, but the love of a family.

R.T. was born and raised in the Midwest, the youngest of six children. She married at a young age and decided early on she wanted a family herself. With three small boys in tow, she and her husband flipped two houses with R.T. in charge of the landscape design and install. Now, she is rooted in the final home they designed inside and out.

Now that her boys are nearly grown, R.T. spends much of her time on the road traveling from one sporting event to another serving as mom and cheerleader. When at home, she enjoys Pilates, working with her Golden Retriever and digging in the glorious dirt of her landscaping plots.

During one of many busy and restless nights, R.T.’s first novel began to pluck its way onto her laptop. It was a drug, an instant addiction that only grew with time. Moments borrowed and stolen at her laptop are, now, between all of the travel and work and many of those busy, restless nights. After several edits, revisions and versions later R.T.’s first novel, Black Creek Burning, was published by Crimson Romance on September 24th.

R.T. has been honored to be in the top 5 of the Goodreads New Authors to Read list, a guest on USA Today's Happy Ever After blog and my trailer is nearing 1,000 hits. The book has earned a 4.8 star rating on Amazon.

Wow! Reading Black Creek Burning kept me up late at night, reading on airplanes, in airports and even in the Grand Canyon. I could NOT put this book down. I found it especially sweet to read since I was surrounded by so much nature. As I passed couples on the famous Bright Angel Trail, I imagined they were Nathan and Brie.

Suspense, romance, thrills and chills spill out in the text...the characters are intriguing and complex. As the story developed, I found myself lost in the mystery of an unsolved murder and the passion of a new romance. I must say, I'm glad Black Creek Burning is just the beginning! I am looking forward to R.T. Wolfe's next book in the trilogy.

A Review of Black Creek Burning

Riveting, heart achingly beautiful... these are but a few words to describe RT Wolfe’s novel Black Creek Burning.

The story opens with a haunting memory... a dream that is woven so intricately... so effortlessly throughout the book that in a sense, it becomes a character. With the turn of each page, RT Wolfe encompassed the human condition. We are reminded that a single moment in time can change the lives of so many.

My favorite character was Brie. The fact that she was a teacher and a landscaper made me stand up and cheer. Her depth of compassion in spite of her own painful past made her a better teacher on so many levels. Nathan, the hero was just perfect. Handsome... charming... patient... persistent. There’s something to be said about a man that is good with his hands. The fact that in their own way, both characters were artists that could cultivate beauty in spite of appearances just resonated with me. The romantic chemistry between these two was so beautifully written. The sexual chemistry just rocked!

With each suspenseful chapter, I was captivated. I wanted... no needed to know how love could be a welcome comfort for some and a breaking point for others.

Black Creek Burning in an excellent, excellent read guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

RT Wolfe allowed me to read the ARC for an honest review.

RT Wolfe is one author I look forward to reading more from in the future!

From the very beginning, I felt like I was there with Brie. Beautiful imagery drew me into her world, from the details of her home and school, right down to the landscaping. I love learning though fiction, and R.T. Wolfe clearly masters quite a few subjects, such as education, home rebuilding, and landscaping, and flawlessly weaves them into the story. I was soon wrapped in both the suspense (stumped!) and romance, turning the pages for both, while enjoying Brie’s relationship with her friends and family (gotta love Liz). It was easy to fall in love with Nathan, and to empathize with Brie, her past, and her current plight. The mystery was very well done, and the romance beautifully developed. I look forward to more!

I was enthralled with Black Creek Burning from the very beginning. Watching Brianna struggle with the nightmares of her past was heart wrenching. When those nightmares manifest in her present reality, I was on the edge of my seat. Nathan was an admirable, sexy hero. His love for his nephews was clear, and made me love him even more. R.T. Wolfe does an excellent job of balancing the suspense with the romance, and weaves them both together in an explosive, surprising ending.

I'll be honest, I'm normally not a romance novel fan. However, this book's strong characters and suspenseful plot really struck a chord with me. I was really rooting for these characters the whole time! Plus, the setting is very authentic. I look forward to reading more from R.T. Wolfe.

With a mother who loves Agatha Christie and mysteries, I grew up seeing through the drama and searching for the truth among the clues. I love great storytelling, but even still, an author very rarely surprises me. When she does, I have to give her credit.

I thought I had “Black Creek Burning,” the debut novel by author R.T. Wolfe, all figured out thirty pages in. As a romantic, I excused the fact that I predicted the ending and relished in the romance of Wolfe’s multifaceted characters. Brie, Nathan, Andy, and Duncan feel as real as any people you’d meet on the street, and the strength of Wolfe’s characters continues even with the secondary cast. Great characters always keep me interested, so I settled in for the ride.

Nathan is a dedicated uncle-turned-father when he takes custody of his orphaned nephews and moves to upstate New York. Brie has her own past trauma to deal with, but otherwise rolls through the good and bad in her life like it’s nothing. She is rock solid, icy even, and it is great watching her character change as she slowly warms up to Nathan and his boys.

What really made this book for me is when Wolfe drops a new clue near the end of the book and proves my villain theory wrong. To say that I didn’t see the end coming is an understatement and that immediately earns this reader’s admiration. It just goes to show that you can’t always trust the people you know best.

“Black Creek Burning” will be released Monday, Sept. 24, in e-book formats. Get a copy and discover the twist for yourself that sets this romance book on fire.

"Black Creek Burning" is a romantic suspense novel which pulls you in from page one. And as you continue to read, you will realize that it's a good thing the author makes you sympathize with her elementary teacher/heroine, Brie Chapman, right away. If she didn't, it would be hard for you to let go of wood-worker/artist, Nathan Reed, once you met him. The man’s hunky, talented, creative, sensitive, funny...did I mention hunky? Sigh. Well, if I can't have him, I guess it’s okay for Brie to have him. After all, they are so good together. It would probably never work out for Nathan and me, anyway, his being a fictional character making things somewhat difficult....

Anyway, in “Black Creek Burning,” R.T. Wolfe does an outstanding job of building the suspense, while charming you with scenes of family life you’ll recognize, offering these as a foil to the darkness of her villain. Her side characters were interesting, and I found myself picking the book up at stoplights to squeeze in one or two more sentences, or even a paragraph, if it was a long light (yes, I’m one of those, I apologize if you’ve ever been behind me). So do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of “Black Creek Burning.” You won’t be disappointed.

I always love reading about interesting people who do things that I don’t and make me wish I do. So it was with Black Creek Burning, I immediately wanted to take up interior decorating and turn my house into a palace. Failing that, I wanted to try camping in trees—who knew you could do that? I certainly didn’t. But if you can’t just up sticks and go there, then read Ms Wolfe’s descriptions as I was transported to another world. Being a nature lover but city locked, I also thoroughly enjoyed her heady descriptions of life outdoors in Black Creek. All of these beautifully interwoven into a great love story with nicely different characters, ones that I took to as soon as I was introduced to them. I found myself silently cheering them on as Brie and Nathan manoeuvred the heady business of falling in love. The interaction between Brie and Nathan’s two charges, Andy and Duncan, was very sweet to read also, and I would look forward to hearing more about the boys.
Not forgetting the deliciously creepy side to Black Creek Burning, again nicely played by Ms Wolfe. She gives us enough to keep us guessing and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up quite a few times, but I don’t want to spoil it for you . Enjoy!!

I was aware that R.T. was a first-time author when I began reading her novel, so I was pleasantly surprise when I found that the book was well-written, engaging, humorous, intriguing, fast-paced, and full of realistic and relatable characters that pulled my heart in every direction as I laughed and cried right along with them. I loved the different family dynamics in this story—the broken, the whole, and the healing—and I am IN love with Nathan *swoon*. There was a little more language in the beginning of the book than I am used to (keep in mind, I read mostly YA fiction), but there was hardly any in the second half of the novel. I was on pins and needles the entire time I read, wondering if Ms. Wolfe would even SOLVE the murder of Brie’s parents, and I had actually resigned myself to putting the pieces together without her assistance if she left me hanging. But then the author surprised me with an explosive ending that shocked me out of my pants! It solved all of my questions and wrapped up the novel perfectly, just the way I like it.

Brianna Chapman witnessed her parents home go up in flames and their lives taken, since that day Brianna has been a force to reckon with independent, determined, and never allowing someone to get to close. When she meets new neighbor Nathan Reed she is tempted to get to know him better but caught off guard by his ability to read her, not realizing they have both suffered losses and moved on.

Nathan never looked back when he came back home bringing his two nephews with him. The minute he meets Brianna he knows that it will be a rocky path getting her to trust him, but he feels she is worth the effort. When it looks like the arson who killed her parents real target is Brianna, he does everything in his power to protect her, but the stalker is determined not to make the same mistake twice of letting Brianna live.

Captivating story, I thought that Brianna was an intriguing character the way the story starts out you know she is a survivor. Nathan is so patient with Brianna, he instantly becomes a favorite book hero. Excellent read.

Black Creek burning was a great mix of suspense and romance. It was definitely heavier on the suspense which added to the appeal of the book. Bri survived the backdraft fire which killed her parents and was meant for her. She's had suspicious events going on, but refuses to be intimidated by them. Nathan moved in next door and has noticed Bri and the things happening to her. Nathan starts putting two and two together while falling for Bri.

The characters in the book are strong. Bri is self confident in all that she does, but has a vulnerable side she refuses to let be seen. Nathan is self confident and a little arrogant but in a good way. The two characters mix well together. The secondary characters, including family and friends, are very well developed. You learn about everyone. The small sub plots of each secondary character are important for the next books in the series.

The book itself kept you on edge wondering who was behind all the events going on. It was a very well written book.

Brianna Chapman is carrying around a heavy burden. Six years ago her parents perished at the hands of an arsonist in a fire meant for her. Now the first grade teacher is plagued with shot out classroom windows, dead animals and slashed tires.

With his two nephews, woodworking artist Nathan Reed moves to an old house he intends to restore near Brianna and across Black Creek. Their dogs bring Nathan and Brie together, and soon a relationship springs up between the neighbors amidst the chaos that is Brie’s life.

I enjoyed Black Creek Burning. It’s a good story, and the characters are likeable, including the two boys−not always an easy feat when you write children into a story. The mystery surrounding Brianna’s trials and tribulations is well developed, and the suspense continues to the very end.

I recommend this book, and look forward to more from this talented author.

We all remember a favorite teacher from our childhood but Brie Chapman quickly becomes one of our adult favorites in R.T. Wolfe's debut novel, Black Creek Burning. Throw in a handsome, possessive hunk named Nathan Reed who is strong enough to give her space and wise enough to step in when she needs him, and you have the basics for an enjoyable romantic read. A dose of suspense related to the threats on Brie's life are an added bonus, as are the delightful antics of two well-trained dogs that will make you want to take yours to obedience class. Toss in two adorable kids and you want to move next door to this family and be their friends.

Black Creek Burning is an interesting read with a twist at the end sure to surprise the reader. Crimson Romance opens the door for R.T. Wolfe's entrance into the literary world and readers will welcome her with open arms.

Black Creek Burning is a wonderful suspense novel that gently draws you into the love that Brianna Chapman (Brie) resists because she has issues surrounding the death of her parents in a fire explosion years earlier. Nathan Reed is the man that doesn’t give up on her when things get tough. He, along with his two sons (adopted when their father, his brother, died) end up with the strength to help her overcome her fears and stand up to a vengeful stalker that’s haunted Brie for years.
Just when I thought I had this story figured out, something new and unexpected would happen. It definitely kept me guessing all along. A heartwarming love story that’s laced around a well-developed suspense.

RT Wolf has a talent for descriptive scenes and touching sentiment.

I KNOW this author. I have never personally known an authentic author before. I am amazed at anyone who can write a good story and this is no exception. Once I started Black Creek Burning, it was hard to put down. I felt like I knew the main character, Brie, and I could very easily picture where she lived and worked. The mystery and suspense kept me turning page by page to figure out "who done it." (Which I never did figure out!!). This is the first in a trilogy, and I look forward to what is in store for our heroine, Brie, in the next novel by RT Wolfe!

Realistic characters with an intriguing and suspenseful plot. Black Creek Burning had a terrific balance of romance and action, while maintaining a "slice of life" feel that I think most contemporary romance readers would enjoy. I recommend for readers of contemporary romantic suspense.

R.T. Wolfe brought two of my favorite genres together in this book. It was a thriller AND a romance. From the very beginning I was deeply wrapped up in the Brie's story, her past, present and future. I felt a wide variety of emotions throughout, and desperately wanted her to be safe and free from the ghosts of her past and the dangers of her present.

Being an animal person, I loved Brie and Macey so much. That's not really enough to buy a book, but I had to say it. It was such a powerful connection and I loved it.

Anyway, I loved the family Brie had and of course, when Nathan came along, I just wanted to get in my car and drive to their town. He was strong, confident and had such a gentle heart. I mean, who doesn't just adore a guy who takes on his nephews as if they were his own? Loves them and becomes a single dad for them. Oh I definitely swooned.

But, of course, there is danger. What happened in the past isn't quite finished and Brie is in danger. As the pieces unfold, I had an idea of who might be involved, but still didn't know for sure until everything unfolded near the end. It kept me guessing and that tends to be hard to do, so I really enjoyed it.

And, of course, it had a HEA which I always am grateful for.

Five stars and highly recommended for those that enjoy romantic thrillers!

Readers who enjoy stories with a strong sense of place and characters with full, interesting lives caught up in non-stop harrowing circumstances should check out R.T. Wolfe's Black Creek Burning.

Wolfe sets a fast and intense pace right from the first pages, in which main character Brianna Chapman is reliving the nightmare of the fiery death of her parents in the arson fire set for her in the family home. Though six years have passed since the devastating fire, it has left an impact on her life that affects her ability to form intimate relationships of value. In fact, her latest attempt at a relationship has ended with the boyfriend's pronouncement that she is "ice." Still, she has managed to create a rich life populated with family and friends, many who live in the community of Northridge, and some interesting characters who reside in the same cul de sac as Brie, near Black Creek.

As a teacher and landscaper, the character of Brie is likeable and accessible, despite her apparent emotional wounds. But those wounds are no match for Brianna's new neighbor across the creek, Nathan Reed, who comes with two rambunctious young nephews and a dog that needs training but takes a liking to Brianna's dog. Though we learn Nathan is a very successful woodworker, he's been less successful at something that matters more to him – being a surrogate dad to his nephews since the death of his brother and sister-in-law. Although the male and female protagonists don't meet until chapter four, there is immediate sexual tension.

With an adept hand, Wolfe fills the story world of Black Creek Burning with interesting details. Though the amount and range of details throughout the story at times were overwhelming (possible personal issue of my own) and slow down the pace, the details make it easy to feel at home in Wolfe's descriptions. Amid the backdrop of home restoration, the changing seasons, and daily lives of three-dimensional people doing their jobs and caring about people, readers can follow the developing landscape and relationship of the two main characters. In Brianna, Wolfe gives readers insights about emotional baggage and portrays her as a sincere and caring person who is endearing. In Nathan, Wolfe gives readers a sexy and strong man who has depth. With all this going on, can there also be character growth and resolution to the painful suffering Brianna has endured since the fire? Can the love interests survive the threats to life and become a family? You'll have to read the book to find out. Then prepare to go all the way with Wolfe's Black Creek trilogy with books two and three, To Fly in Shadows and Dark Vengeance.

Brie Chapman saw her parents get murdered years ago. It left it's mark on her but she has moved on. She has redone her house (the same one she saw her parents die in)she works hard at everything she does, and she is used to doing it all on her own. Her big joy in her life is her dog. She has never had a relationship that worked out. She likes being independent. When Nathan Reed moves in behind her with his two nephews her life changes. She is drawn to him but still wants to be on her own. However the killer they never caught for her parents murder has returned and Brie is the killers next target. She may have to learn to except help from people including Nathan or she may pay with her life.

Brie is one of those female characters that you like right away, or at least I did. I like that she is hardworking, stubborn, and yet you also get to see the softer side of her at times. She is a wonderful teacher and it shows when she is with kids. She isn't the type of woman waiting for a man to save her. Nathan is the man of dreams. He is raising his nephews after a tragedy of his own. He is a good parent and has gave up a lot to give the boys a nice place to call home. He is sexy, smart and can be very protective. I love these two together and apart. They are both great characters. The boys Duncan and Andy make you want to just give them a big hug. They are great kids.

This is a book that anyone who loves a suspense novel, a love story, or a book about great characters will enjoy. You spend the whole time reading hoping Brie and Nathan will work things out, wondering who is the murderer and just what will happen next. I kept guessing as to who did kill her parents was and I will say the author does a fantastic job because I had no clue and was pleasantly surprised. I love when I can't figure it out. This is the start to an amazing series that truthfully i dread to see end. I love the characters and look forward to seeing more of them and watching them grow. I would recommend this book to anyone. Be prepared to fall in love with these people and feel you have found a new family.

I really liked this book. If you don't like spoilers, don't read on beyond this point. The mystery was interesting and it was nice to see a female character that didn't fall apart because of a stalker. She was a little nonchalant about it, but it was a nice change to someone crumbling and having men protect her. Brie, the main character, was likable, strong, and grows in the story. Nathan, the love interest, is really a good guy, modern and Wolfe knows how to write strong men who are not Neanderthals, but not so sensitive that they are wimpy. The one time he really has a problem with Brie's stubborn independence is when her life is in danger after his nephew's, whom he's guardian of, could lose her, he wants to protect the children.
The side character Liz, Brie's sister, and Amanda, Brie's best friend along with the neighbors(who the stalker is among) make the world complete and add depth and insight to the mains.
The kids: Duncan, Andy, and Rose are written well. Duncan is a great artist and is sweet and sensitive, Andy is a in the first grade and is more curious than anything else and since he's in the first grade it fits him. Rose is in the background, but we are introduced to her with her ending a scene punching Andy in the nose because he's telling her what to do.
I will say that the villain kinda came out of no where and it seemed like the author picked five people who could be the villain and just decided at the end of the story who it was going to be. However, it did keep me guessing, I thought it was the ex-boyfriends best friend and I was so off base. The villain's reasoning came out of nowhere too, but it's believable so I don't mind.
I want to read the other books in the series, but they deal with the children in this book and in this book they are 6 and 10. I know they will be adults in their books, but reading them as adults maybe weird at first.
If you like a good mystery with a hint of romance this is a great book for you. Hopefully it'll keep you guessing like it to me.

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery. This is my honest review.
Wow I was hooked from the start, this is such a compelling read I couldn't put it down from turning the first page. It was the most gripping mystery I've read in a long time, leaving you hanging on them getting it wrong about who was behind it at every guess you have.
I loved the way the storyline pulled you in, and it was a few stories in one. The mystery about who was stalking and trying to kill Brie and then running alongside her new next door neighbour that had taken on his brothers 2 young children after his brother and wife had died in a plane crash, so far it has cost him his marriage and he'd sold his business to spend more time with them. I liked the way you learnt the background to the characters and how the boys adapted to their new school and surroundings while trying to bond with their uncle. How he loved them unconditionally and wouldn't give up on them helping them with extra school work because the youngest had fallen behind.
I loved the romance and how the love grew even though Brie pushed everyone away after blaming herself for the death of her parents in the fire.
She had a connection with the boys because she had also lost her parents even though she had been a lot older she knew what they were going through, she was a teacher and knew how to help them. Duncan the eldest struggled with letting go and accepting his uncle as a father in the way Andy did. I loved the way you were shown how with time he managed to turn it round.
The mystery side to it was brilliant and you really don't know who's doing everything, it really has you thinking. The romance is lovely and you see how Brie starts to learn to let someone into her life, Nathan is good for her and gives her the time she needs, it's not all sex and hot romance it's a great mystery romance which keeps you hooked.
I would recommend it to anyone that likes a good story that keeps you guessing until the end, and is a great read too.

Wow! That's really a BAM. I couldn't put the book down after I started reading.

Brianna Chapman is a teacher who's teaching at Bloom Elementary and she's owning a business that deals with landscape.

Nathan Reed, the newly moved in neighbour to live at Black Creek with his 2 young sons Duncan and Andy.

Macey, aka Brie's dog. Goldie, aka Nathan's dog.

Alright, these names are the very most common ones that will keep popping in the story. I'm kinda sucked into the book and feels a bit sad when it comes to an end. I like the chemistry between Nathan and Brie. The 2 kids are indispensable. Just like the 2 dogs. Although I do feel very sad about what had happen to Macey. I cried a little on that part. It's been a long time since a book can managed to get me. The Chapman siblings close knit relationship. The BFF Amanda and her cutie daughter Rose. The policeman turn Detective Dave. All these are key players in the book. It's very interesting to read about them and I'm happy to learn about some of their updates in the book. It's not the "WHO" I'm concern with cos I kinda can guess right. But it's the "WHY" that gotten me. When I learn the "WHY", I was like WHAT? Seriously??

But anyway, I gotta say thank you R. T for writing this book. I kinda enjoy the thrill ride.

R.T. Wolfe has set the standard when it comes to "romantic suspense" or "mystery romance" with the fantastic job she has done here with Black Creek Burning. I found that once I started reading I was sucked in and couldn't stop. I started in the evening and stayed up until 4 am when I was to tired to continue only to pick it up first thing so I could finish.

Brianna is an amazing heroine and exactly what you want in a lead character she is strong and self assured, she is able and willing to stand on her own two feet but isn't so full of her own need to be independent that she can't see a very good thing, like Nathan, right in front of her.

Nathan is full of support and kindness, he gives Brianna room when she needs it and is he shoulder to cry too. He has adopted his nephews after they lost both parents in an accident and is a brilliant artist when it comes to wood working. He is handsome and not willing to let Brianna throw up any road blocks in their relationship.

I loved the plot twist and turns, I adore Nathan and also his darling nephews, This one kept me guessing and I had an idea of who it was then threw that out for another idea more than once. It was a fantastically written mystery as well as a great love story with enough spice to keep it fun.

This was not supposed to be as good as it was, I read this at the urging of someone and for the first couple of chapters or so it was slow and borderline boring BUT then it picked up and I spent every spare minute I could reading it.

Brianna and Nathan are far from a "Love at First Sight" affair. Brianna is so messed up over the death of her parents a few years ago and really has not had a good relationship. Nathan has rebooted his whole life due to some things that are best left for the book to explain for the reader.

She was not that impressed with him at first but I think he was already thinking she might be worth the trouble that she obviously was going to cause.

The whole slow then fast romance is encapsulated by a murder mystery and a continuing series of low level threats and terror type things that keep happening. The actions will keep you guessing (wrong of course) as to "whodunnit" and it all works together wonderfully.

The only downside to the whole novel was possibly a bit too long but that was not a real problem but several times I had to back up to make sure I knew who was talking so a small bit of editing would have helped but these are all nitpick type comments so don't let it dissuade you from this novel. A great reading experience but not a short one as these type of novels typically are, well done. 4.2 Stars

This was the first book in the author's Black Creek series, and based on my complete involvement in the plot and characters of the first book, I will definitely have to read the remaining books in the series. I was drawn in to the mystery of the story from the first page and emotionally engaged by Brianna's guilt over the fiery death of her parents. I also enjoyed Brianna's interaction with her students and the funny dialogue between her and her sister. Nathan Reed has also dealt with tragedy in his family , and as a result of his brother and sister-in-law's untimely deaths, is the legal guardian of his two young nephews. The warmth and joy generated by Brianna's developing relationship with Nathan and his boys engages the reader, while the chill and dread caused by the actions of a deadly stalker keeps the reader guessing. I was very impressed with Ms. Wolfe's ability to keep me in the moment with each plot twist and the depth of all her characters, including the canine members of the family.

So I'm not going to rehash the deets for you on this one ~ instead, I'm going to tell you that I had never heard of R.T. Wolfe, or Crimson Romance ~
but if this is the quality that Crimson is publishing, sign me up. This book is exceptionally well written ~ it doesn't move at the fatest pace, but it's a good steady build, and the build up between the main characters, Brie & Nathan was SO great, and damned if I wasn't suspecting every person she knew of being behind all the terrible things going on. Talk about red herrings!
The relationships between the characters ~ Brie & her family, Nathan & his nephews, and his family ~ was a true pleasure to read. This was just an all around great read.

The editing was flawless, the writing is awesome, the suspense was GREAT ~ and I can't wait to read more from R.T Wolfe!

And P.S. ~~ there are SEQUELS, and they're about the NEPHEWS we get to know in this one!
OMG, I cannot WAIT, I'm already in love with these boys! YES!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed RT Wolfe’s masterful debut novel, Black Creek Burning. Written with confident expertise on a variety of topics such as landscaping and home remodeling, I got wrapped up in the engaging storytelling of this wonderful tale of love, danger and suspense. Along the way I completely fell in love with hero Nathan as he patiently transformed the heroine Brie from an icy self-proclaimed independent into a woman willing to accept the love of a strong man and a family in need of a mother. The details were delicious, the settings were masterfully painted, the mystery was a stumper and the romance was beautifully satisfying.

A top-rate romantic suspense from a talented promising new author. I hear rumors that this is the first book of a series, and I gleefully await the sequel!

I actually skipped this book the first time I went through the Romantic Suspense list. Boy, am I glad i went for a second read through the list!

Such a great book! I definitely identified with Brie (commitment phobe and "ice" lady over here!) so it was extra special for me to read the development of Brie and Nathan's relationship.

Nathan....OMG Nathan! Definitely on my top 5 Best Heroes! Good dad / uncle, Great body, Talented, Has a dog, Rich but humble and the best part: Resilient! The perfect match to Brie's "One foot out the door" attitude! Andy and Duncan were great kids, Amanda and Dave were great supporting characters / secondary romance. Rose was adorable. Macey and Goldie stole the show whenever they appeared on the page.

Heavy Romance added with a dash of suspense...Yum! Just the way I like it!
