We met Marine Lieutenant Rafe McCawley in Model Marine. He was fun loving, sexy and ready for anything. Time has passed and a military action in Somalia has Rafe suffering from PTSD and recovering from several injuries. Kelly Callahan knows her fashion model sister Mimi is a little self-absorbed so when Mimi starts getting these sweet emails from Rafe – Kelly knows Mimi isn’t going to answer so she does (as Mimi). When Rafe needs a little R&R Kelly invites him to her resort in Fiji (as Mimi). One thing leads to another and then she has to explain to Rafe that it was she not Mimi that replied to his emails and invited him to her resort and into her heart. This is a quick sweet and sexy read that will have turning pages as quick as you can.

3 Stars Mission: Seduction is an adult contemporary/military romance by Candace Havens, and part of the Harlequin Blaze Uniformly Hot! series. The Few. The Proud. The Sexy as Hell!

On medical leave after having taken some fire meant for civilians, marine lieutenant Rafe McCawley heads to a breathtaking island resort for some much needed rest and relaxation. He figures that sun, sea, and enjoying the woman whose emails had kept him sane while he’d been in recovery was all he needs to heal his wounds. Her letters had been what kept him going through intense therapy. Her sweet encouragement and kind words had been the elixir his soul used to heal. And were exactly what his mind needs to help forget. But when he arrives, instead, he’s greeted by her sister—resort owner, pro surfer and one insanely beautiful woman. What’s paradise without a little temptation?

Kelly Callahan had been traveling the world from one competition to the next since she was sixteen. Heading towards burnout, she’d forgotten her love for surfing and wanted to remember why she was addicted to those waves. She’d been coming to Fiji for years during her off time because the waves were great for most of the year. So, when a friend of hers decided to sell his resort in paradise, she knew it was the right decision to buy it. It had always been her sanctuary when life got to be too much on the circuit, and she wanted to create that for other people as well.

When Kelly discovered the sweet, thoughtful and caring notes that Rafe had sent to her sister, she'd wanted her to answer him. But when it didn’t look like she would, Kelly pretended to be her and wrote him back. He’d sounded so lonely. When she’d invited him to Fiji, her sole intention had been to help him. He’d never whined or complained, but she could always tell that he had seen things he’d rather forget. And in her mind and heart, she knew she could make a positive difference in his life. But what had started as an act of kindness on her part for one of America’s heroes has now morphed into a complicated situation. And she’ll tell him the truth … as soon as she can get her libido under control!

I just love a man in uniform! Mission: Seduction is a sweet, sexy read with a satisfying HEA, perfect for the beach or a lazy afternoon.

Content: explicit sex.

3.5 stars. One of the better books I've read lately. The heroine wastough and i LOVED that she had her own thing going on and was totally successful dont need no man type. I really liked the hero right up til theend. He was hunky and protective of the heroine without treating her like a possession but i felt that he was unnecessarily cruel once she owned up to what she did. I also didnt like how quickly it all wrapped up. Overall this book was a great slow burn-miles away from the love at first sight nonsense i'm usually rolling my eyes at. But when it came to resolving the big dramatic event it happened so fast i felt like i blinked and missed it. the sex scenes were ok but occasionally were on the bland side. the writing was pretty great i didnt find any errors.

Unique location (Fiji), loved the athlete heroine (need more of those!) and Rafe's character was just as intriguing. I'm always a sucker for military heroes. Bottom line, the storyline and heat level is the reason it's 3 stars for me. As a Blaze novel, I expected more intimate scenes, not just 1 scene and everything else is behind closed doors. Also, not a fan of the story lines where 1 conversation earlier in the story could have fixed the entire conflict. But Ms Havens is an excellent writer with vivid characters. Good, quick read.

3.5 stars. I am such a sucker for romances with a wounded hero, and Rafe delivers. The set-up of this book is great and the tension between Rafe and Kelly hot. A few things between them moved too fast for me, but that's probably personal preference, and with the exception of Andrien the French chef, the supporting characters were flat for me. Still, the romance between Rafe and Kelly was worth the read, and I was so glad when they got their HEA.

For me, it was a breezy book. Not too deep not too light but just enough to keep me going to see what happened. The ending was as expected so it wasn't a surprise to her reasons why she did what she did and his declaration of love sounded generic. Read this if you're bored but you still want the formulated romance novel.

A great military romance. Kelly is such a fun and strong character that you can't even dislike her for deceiving Rafe through her letters. Classic case of what would have happened if the truth came out earlier? Would he have left? Would he have let their relationship take its course?

Erotic Marine Romance

Well I really enjoyed how the sexual intensity made the two characters reach out for each other for passionate love.

I remember him from Model Marine. I'll agree the predictable disagreement at the end of the book just felt dumb.

Nope, possessive guys who try to protect and take over ladies lives - still not sexy.
