You've likely heard about the cursed doll Annabelle, The Conjuring series, and other paranormal investigations. Similarly, Autumn Barnes has performed that work in solving paranormal mysteries in hopes of bringing people peace, but unlike the famous stories mentioned, the unsettling truths she's uncovered flies under the radar.
Cursed Edge is the first book in the new series The Haunting Files, a collection that focuses on Autumn's work as a paranormal investigator. In this book, she returns to her home state, New Hampshire, to help save a distraught family from the evil they claim to possess their daughter. Autumn must find the root cause of the activity and whether or not it can be undone.
The land was cursed killing ancestors because of a deal that was thought to be made for the money that helped purchase and build. It was sad the father died after finally breaking free. Guess the curse did not want him to live after leaving.
This was an early case for paranormal investigator Autumn Barnes. Her heartbreaking story was told in an earlier series. She is incredibly brave to continue on to help others with what she went through. This story was her first case. Despite hesitations, she forged ahead to help this tragic family, especially the young daughter who reminded her so much of her younger self. It is a tragic story, with sad, yet heartwarming ending. The family was able to find peace despite a tragic loss. A beautiful story and I am glad Autumn is sharing some of her cases.
